At the beginning (2 months in) and the end (9 months) of the academic year, 973 newly registered students participated in this study involving two cross-university surveys. Students who redoubled or who had studied at other universities were excluded. Data were collected with an online questionnaire comprising the psychological Whoqol-bref subscale, AES scale, and questions about other related factors. The AES score decreased from 74.2 to 65.6. At both time points, the psychological Whoqol-bref was positively correlated with environmental and social relations QoL and perceived general health. Multiple regression models including interaction terms showed that a higher psychological QoL was associated with better general health (difference satisfied-dissatisfied 9.44), AES (slope 0.099), social relationships QoL (0.321), and environmental QoL (0.298). No interaction with time effects was significant, which indicates that the effects remain stable with time. If the university could maintain the QoL indicators at appropriate levels or manage decreases as they occur, it would have implications for health promotion and the creation of new student support systems. The SQA- LES project provides valuable information for universities aiming to develop a European Higher Educational Area.展开更多

Purposive sampling technique was used to select graduates, institutions and industries within Takoradi, Cape Coast, Kumasi and Accra metropolis all in Ghana. Three different questionnaires inter-spaced with interviews were designed and used to collect data from the field according to a pre-determined stratified scheme. A total of 200 informants including 68 industries, 120 graduates and 12 institutions were used. The data was coded and keyed into SPSS version 20. Tables and Charts were used to explore the data. Principal component (PC) analysis was employed to extract hidden factors industries consider in graduate employability decisions. The PC method identified and extracted six hidden factors: ability to set SMART goals and structure actions;ability to demonstrate a willingness to embrace new systems, processes, technology and ideas;a determined, committed, resilient, and focused person;a person with passion for driving profit;ability to deconstruct a problem or situation;and clear and unprompted ability to present information to a group. These six hidden factors could explain 68.8% of the variances in graduate employability decisions. We recommend that internships be properly planned and executed with the involvement of industry players, facilitators of learning, and the ministry of trade and industries. In addition, facilitators should inculcate into students’ important traits and attributes identified in this study.展开更多

Human Capital acquired by Art Majors in higher education is professional knowledge and skills with the core of employability. Characterized by a high degree of operability art expertise determines the students and enhances their professional knowledge and skills for the high dependence of educational resources. These educational resources include not only the hardware facilities, teachers, but also include the school' s philosophy, cultural traditions, social practices of professional opportunities, social influence and other hidden educational resources, for example, as for the traditional fine arts students, in addition to enough learning creative space, schools and cultural traditions have a very profound impact on the ability for professional and career development. In case of shortage of educational resources, art students' the opportunity to study and practice professional knowledge and skills must be affected, but the large number of students makes many teachers tied of teaching school recessive educational resources which even cannot be effectively communicated.展开更多

We recommend that internships be properly planned and executed with the involvement of industry players, facilitators of learning, and the ministry of trade and industries. In addition, facilitators should inculcate into students’ important traits and attributes identified in this study.
文摘Scarce resources of Higher Education is the fundamental factor affecting arts college students' employability training and promotion. In case of shortage of educational resources, art students' the opportunity to study and practice professional knowledge and skills must be affected, but the large number of students makes many teachers tied of teaching school recessive educational resources which even cannot be effectively communicated.
文摘While higher education system in India produces the second largest number of engineering graduates in the world every year, the employability of the graduates is questioned both in the domestic and international labour markets. Many rightly observe that India is overproducing engineering graduates with poor quality, who are not suitable for changing labour markets,as a result large numbers of graduates are either unemployed or mal/under employed.Globally, the interface between technology and labour market is changing rapidly, making new demands on skills of the graduate engineers. The recent National Education Policy 2020 has clearly acknowledged this fact, and accordingly, proposes a variety of reforms for strengthening technical education in the country. In this short paper,an attempt is made to examine a few specific aspects relating to the unemployment and employability of engineering graduates, along with implications for engineering education.
文摘With the rapid development of the economy and society and the progress of science and technology, the traditional concept of employment has been gradually broken, and more and more college students hope to realize their life value through independent entrepreneurship or employment in innovative enterprises.Based on the significance of innovation and entrepreneurship education to improve students’employability, this paper will sort out the development status of domestic college students’employability, analyze the current difficulties of innovation and entrepreneurship education, and try to put forward the optimization strategy of innovation and entrepreneurship education management to improve students’employability.
文摘Employability is a set of achievements – skills, understandings, and personal attributes – thatmakes graduate students more going to benefit from work. It well values it for several studentsto get a degree in computer science. For decades, traditional information sources and methodologieswere too expensive and cumbersome to obtain the finer details of learning processesthat digital trace amounts of student behavior could provide, and decision-making skills arethe basic challenges. Hence the proposed model Amalgamation of Computer Majors based onData Mining (ACM-DM) is employed to satisfy the challenges discussed above. Training investigatorsin instructional data science methodologies and balancing the need to protect personalinformation with sharing data are challenges. As a result, the proposed model helps achievedata, performance, accuracy, interoperability, and security analysis compared to other majorsif included in colleges based on data mining.

文摘Access to off-farm employment has been expected to be a critical approach to ending hunger and all forms of malnutrition, two important targets of achieving Zero Hunger. This study aims to investigate the role of off-farm employment in improving dietary diversity through substitution effect and complementary effect with agricultural production activities and income effect. This study adopts Poisson/Tobit/Probit/OLS regressions and the instrument variable method based on the primary survey data collected among 1,282 households at 12 sites in environmentally and economically vulnerable areas of China,Nepal,Cambodia,Thailand, and Myanmar in 2019.The results show that off-farm employment is positively associated with household dietary diversity and the consumption of flesh meat, fish and other aquatic animals, fruits, and milk and dairy products, which are rich in protein and micronutrients. The results of mechanism analysis show that off-farm employment contributes to household dietary diversity by improving crop diversity, especially for poor households, boosting the probability of livestock raising for households with the middle one-third disposal income, and increasing household income. The positive association between off-farm employment and household dietary diversity is much higher for households with the bottom one-third disposal income, low illiteracy, and from upper-middle income countries. These findings imply that off-farm employment does play a vital role in achieving multiple benefits of poverty alleviation, malnutrition reduction, and agrobiodiversity conservation in environmentally and economically vulnerable areas. However,it may enlarge the gaps in dietary diversity between households with low human capital and from low and lower-middle income countries and those with high human capital and from middle-high countries.

文摘The malicious mining pool can sacrifice part of its revenue to employ the computing power of blockchain network. The employed computing power carries out the pool mining attacks on the attacked mining pool.To realize the win-win game between the malicious mining pool and the employee, the paper proposes an Employment Attack Pricing Algorithm(EAPA)of mining pools in blockchain based on game theory. In the EAPA,the paper uses mathematical formulas to express the revenue of malicious mining pools under the employment attack, the revenue increment of malicious mining pools, and the revenue of the employee. It establishes a game model between the malicious mining pool and the employee under the employment attack. Then, the paper proposes an optimal computing power price selection strategy of employment attack based on model derivation. In the strategy, the malicious mining pool analyzes the conditions for the employment attack, and uses the derivative method to find the optimal utilization value of computing power, employees analyze the conditions for accepting employment, and use the derivative method to find the optimal reward value of computing power. Finally, the strategy finds the optimal employment computing power price to realize Nash equilibrium between the malicious mining pool and the employee under the current computing power allocation. The simulation results show that the EAPA could find the employment computing power price that realizes the win-win game between the malicious mining pool and the employee. The EAPA also maximizes the unit computing power revenue of employment and the unit computing power revenue of honest mining in malicious mining pool at the same time. The EAPA outperforms the state-of-the-art methods such as SPSUCP,DPSACP,and FPSUCP.

文摘Common prosperity is an important goal of China’s modernization efforts, and narrowing the income gap among different regions and populations is crucial to achieving common prosperity. The construction of digital infrastructure has significantly boosted productivity and facilitated the diffusion of technology in less developed regions, leading to notable changes in labor employment and the income gap, which aligns with the goal of common prosperity. This paper explores the mechanism through which digital infrastructure influences common prosperity with a focus on employment, using panel data from 30 provinces in China between 2011 and 2021 for an empirical test. The research finds that digital infrastructure significantly promotes common prosperity.By expanding employment and increasing labor remuneration, the influence of digital infrastructure on common prosperity exhibits regional heterogeneity and a nonlinear threshold effect. The research suggests that the government should enhance investment in and construction of digital infrastructure, reduce the digital divide through policy support in rural areas, promote digital employment and skills training, and encourage industrial integration and enterprise participation.

文摘Based on the Belt and Road Initiative(BRI)as a quasi-natural experiment, this paper uses panel data from 124 countries between 2006 and 2019 to build a difference-in-differences(DID)model to investigate the BRI employment effect on participating countries and mechanisms. We observed that the BRI had significantly increased employment rates in participating countries, and that this result remained robust after using the instrumental variable(IV)to mitigate endogeneity and perform a robustness test. There are differences in the BRI’s employment effect depending on the income level, labor conditions, and the digital economy’s development level of BRI countries:compared with low-income countries and lower-middle-income countries, the BRI has a more significantly positive effect on the employment rates of upper-middle-income and high-income countries;the BRI’s employment effect is stronger in countries with higher labor market efficiencies and better labor relations; In countries with higher levels of digital economy, the BRI has a relatively greater positive effect on employment. The BRI has increased employment rates in participating countries on both the supply and demand sides by building infrastructure, interconnecting industries and resources, and improving human capital through the exchange of human resources.Further analysis suggests that the BRI’s employment effect promotes the sophistication of participating countries’employment structures, hence improving employment quality, and that participating countries’employment levels may continue to improve in the medium and long run.
