[Objective] This study was carried out to determine the induction effect of jasmonic acid(JA)on powdery mildew resistance in wheat,the activation effect on the expressions of plant disease resistance related genes,a...[Objective] This study was carried out to determine the induction effect of jasmonic acid(JA)on powdery mildew resistance in wheat,the activation effect on the expressions of plant disease resistance related genes,and to investigate the relationship between the induced resistance and the gene expression patterns.[Method] Three powdery mildew susceptible cultivars of "Chinese Spring","Pumai 9" and "Zhoumai 18" typically representing different phenotypes in the field were employed.The powdery mildew was assessed by detached leaf assay,and real time quantitative RT-PCR was used to determine the expression patterns of 9 disease resistance related genes of PR1(PR1.1),PR2(β,1-3 glucanase),PR3(chitinase),PR4(wheatwin1),PR5(thaumatin-like protein),PR9(TaPERO,peroxidase),PR10,TaGLP2a(germin-like)and Ta-JA2(jasmonate-induced protein)in leaf of the three cultivars.[Result] MeJA application enhanced the powdery mildew resistances of "Chinese Spring","Pumai 9" and "Zhoumai 18".The induced powdery mildew resistance could be detected from 12 h to 96 h after MeJA treatment,and the peak value was at 24 h.Though there were differences between the three cultivars,MeJA significantly effect on the expressions of the 8 disease resistance related genes except TaGLP2a,and the peak values were at 12 h,24 h or 48 h after treatments.The strongest activation of MeJA was on PR9 and PR1 that their expressions could reach more than 100 times of the untreated samples.MeJA strongly activated PR2、PR4、PR5、PR3、PR10 and Ta-JA2,their expression could reach 10 to 70 times,and there was almost no activation effect on TaGLP2a.The induced powdery mildew resistance positively correlated with the induced expressions of the 8 disease related genes.[Conclusion] The induced powdery mildew resistance positively correlated with the induced expressions of the disease related genes.Jasmonate signalling plays a role in defence against Blumeria graminis f.sp.tritici.and future manipulation of this pathway may improve powdery mildew resistance in wheat.展开更多
Lectin and leghemoglobin in legumes play the important roles, respectively, in recognition of host plants to their rhizobial bacteria, and lowering the oxygen partial pressure around bacteroids and protecting nitrogen...Lectin and leghemoglobin in legumes play the important roles, respectively, in recognition of host plants to their rhizobial bacteria, and lowering the oxygen partial pressure around bacteroids and protecting nitrogenase from oxygen in symbiotic nitrogen-fixing nodules. In order to extend the host range of the rhizobial bacteria and to make them fix nitrogen in non-legumes, pea lectin gene (pl) and Parasponia hemoglobin gene ( phl,) have been constructed into a plant expression vector (pCBHUL) and the vector pCBHUL was introduced into rice calli from immature young embryos by particle bombardment. After the calli were regenerated into plantlets on the resistant-selecting media containing hygromycin, they were identified by PCR and Southern blot hybridization. It was indicated that the pi and phb genes were integrated into nucleic genome of the transformed rice plants. GUS activity and the product of the pi gene were determined by GUS staining, Western blot and in situ hybridization at translational level. Eighteen out of 40 plants resistant to hygromycin were positively identified by PCR analysis with the rate of 45%. The pi gene was expressed in 3 out of 18 plants with 17% and 7.5% in 40 plants. The results may provide a clue for exploring whether Rhizobium leguminosarum by. viceae could extend its host range and make the transgenic rice plants have the possibility of being symbiotic, or associative to nitrogen fixation.展开更多

When we blocked the synthesisof mRNAs in cells treated with rattlesnake venom by DRB(5, 6- dichloro- 1 -β- D- rib ofur anosylb enzimidazole ), an in-hibitor of transcription, the formation of aPoptotic bodieswas dramatically inhibited. We examined the expressionof Psa gene and found that its expression was much higherin apoptosis induced by rattlesnake venom than that inaPoptosis induced by deprivation of aFGF and serum. With the rapid development of deep learning and artificial intelligence,affective computing,as a branch field,has attracted increasing research attention.Human emotions are diverse and are directly expressed via nonph...With the rapid development of deep learning and artificial intelligence,affective computing,as a branch field,has attracted increasing research attention.Human emotions are diverse and are directly expressed via nonphysiological indicators,such as electroencephalogram(EEG)signals.However,whether emotion-based or EEG-based,these remain single-modes of emotion recognition.Multi-mode fusion emotion recognition can improve accuracy by utilizing feature diversity and correlation.Therefore,three different models have been established:the single-mode-based EEG-long and short-term memory(LSTM)model,the Facial-LSTM model based on facial expressions processing EEG data,and the multi-mode LSTM-convolutional neural network(CNN)model that combines expressions and EEG.Their average classification accuracy was 86.48%,89.42%,and 93.13%,respectively.Compared with the EEG-LSTM model,the Facial-LSTM model improved by about 3%.This indicated that the expression mode helped eliminate EEG signals that contained few or no emotional features,enhancing emotion recognition accuracy.Compared with the Facial-LSTM model,the classification accuracy of the LSTM-CNN model improved by 3.7%,showing that the addition of facial expressions affected the EEG features to a certain extent.Therefore,using various modal features for emotion recognition conforms to human emotional expression.Furthermore,it improves feature diversity to facilitate further emotion recognition research.展开更多
The expressions of HBV X gene and ets-2, IGF-I, c-myc and N-ras were studied in 7 pairs of human primary hepatocellular carcinoma (PHC) and tumor-adjacent tissues, using RNA hybridization and im-munoblot methods. The ...The expressions of HBV X gene and ets-2, IGF-I, c-myc and N-ras were studied in 7 pairs of human primary hepatocellular carcinoma (PHC) and tumor-adjacent tissues, using RNA hybridization and im-munoblot methods. The results showed that specific 17 and 28 kD HBV X gene products (HBxAg) were existed in a portion of PHC and tumor-adjacent tissues. The 17 kD HBxAg was detected in the sera of 3 patients who also had 17 kD HBxAg in their liver tissues. Multiple expressions of oncogenes such as ets-2, c-myc and N-ras were observed in PHC and tumor-adjacent tissues that had HBxAg expressed, indicating HBxAg might function as a transactivator in the course of intracellular proto-oncogene activation. It is also observed that in some tumor-adjacnet tissues the expressions of ets-2, c-myc and N-ras were higher than those in corresponding PHC. The relationship of HBxAg to the expression of est-2, IGF-Ⅱ, c-myc and their possible roles in the carcinogenesis of PHC are discussed.展开更多

Psychologists have established the universality of six prototypic basic facial expressions of emotions which they believe are consistent among cultures and races. However, some recent cross-cultural studies have questioned and to some degree refuted this cultural universality. Therefore, in order to contribute to the theory of cultural specificity of basic expressions, from a composite viewpoint of psychology and HCI (Human Computer Interaction), this paper presents a methodical analysis of Western-Caucasian and East-Asian prototypic expressions focused on four facial regions: forehead, eyes-eyebrows, mouth and nose. Our analysis is based on facial expression recognition and visual analysis of facial expression images of two datasets composed by four standard databases CK+, JAFFE, TFEID and JACFEE. A hybrid feature extraction method based on Fourier coefficients is proposed for the recognition analysis. In addition, we present a cross-cultural human study applied to 40 subjects as a baseline, as well as one comparison of facial expression recognition performance between the previous cross-cultural tests from the literature. With this work, it is possible to clarify the prior considerations for working with multicultural facial expression recognition and contribute to identifying the specific facial expression differences between Western-Caucasian and East-Asian basic expressions of emotions.展开更多

Pain has always been expressed verbally, but in some cases, traditional patien...Pain is a strong symptom of diseases. Being an involuntary unpleasant feeling, it can be considered a reliable indicator of health issues. Pain has always been expressed verbally, but in some cases, traditional patient self-reporting is not efficient. On one side, there are patients who have neurological disorders and cannot express themselves accurately, as well as patients who suddenly lose consciousness due to an abrupt faintness. On another side, medical staff working in crowded hospitals need to focus on emergencies and would opt for the automation of the task of looking after hospitalized patients during their entire stay, in order to notice any pain-related emergency. These issues can be tackled with deep learning. Knowing that pain is generally followed by spontaneous facial behaviors, facial expressions can be used as a substitute to verbal reporting, to express pain. In this paper, a convolutional neural network (CNN) model was built and trained to detect pain through patients’ facial expressions, using the UNBC-McMaster Shoulder Pain dataset. First, faces were detected from images using the Haarcascade Frontal Face Detector provided by OpenCV, and preprocessed through gray scaling, histogram equalization, face detection, image cropping, mean filtering, and normalization. Next, preprocessed images were fed into a CNN model which was built based on a modified version of the VGG16 architecture. The model was finally evaluated and fine-tuned in a continuous way based on its accuracy, which reached 92.5%.展开更多

Firstly, based on the compactly supported radial basis function, the paper makes the complex quadratic function (Multiquadric, MQ for short) to be transformed and proposes a class of compactly supported MQ function. Secondly, the paper describes a method that interpolates discrete motion capture data to solve the motion vectors of the interpolation points and they are used in facial expression reconstruction. Finally, according to this characteris- tic of the uneven distribution of the face markers, the markers are numbered and grouped in accordance with the density level, and then be interpolated in line with each group. We examined the expressionof Psa gene and found that its expression was much higherin apoptosis induced by rattlesnake venom than that inaPoptosis induced by deprivation of aFGF and serum. Ourresults suggest that gene expression is important and P53gene may play a major role in inducing the formation ofapoptotic bodies in VEC.

文摘With the rapid development of deep learning and artificial intelligence,affective computing,as a branch field,has attracted increasing research attention.Human emotions are diverse and are directly expressed via nonphysiological indicators,such as electroencephalogram(EEG)signals.However,whether emotion-based or EEG-based,these remain single-modes of emotion recognition.Multi-mode fusion emotion recognition can improve accuracy by utilizing feature diversity and correlation.Therefore,three different models have been established:the single-mode-based EEG-long and short-term memory(LSTM)model,the Facial-LSTM model based on facial expressions processing EEG data,and the multi-mode LSTM-convolutional neural network(CNN)model that combines expressions and EEG.Their average classification accuracy was 86.48%,89.42%,and 93.13%,respectively.Compared with the EEG-LSTM model,the Facial-LSTM model improved by about 3%.This indicated that the expression mode helped eliminate EEG signals that contained few or no emotional features,enhancing emotion recognition accuracy.Compared with the Facial-LSTM model,the classification accuracy of the LSTM-CNN model improved by 3.7%,showing that the addition of facial expressions affected the EEG features to a certain extent.Therefore,using various modal features for emotion recognition conforms to human emotional expression.Furthermore,it improves feature diversity to facilitate further emotion recognition research.
文摘The expressions of HBV X gene and ets-2, IGF-I, c-myc and N-ras were studied in 7 pairs of human primary hepatocellular carcinoma (PHC) and tumor-adjacent tissues, using RNA hybridization and im-munoblot methods. The results showed that specific 17 and 28 kD HBV X gene products (HBxAg) were existed in a portion of PHC and tumor-adjacent tissues. The 17 kD HBxAg was detected in the sera of 3 patients who also had 17 kD HBxAg in their liver tissues. Multiple expressions of oncogenes such as ets-2, c-myc and N-ras were observed in PHC and tumor-adjacent tissues that had HBxAg expressed, indicating HBxAg might function as a transactivator in the course of intracellular proto-oncogene activation. It is also observed that in some tumor-adjacnet tissues the expressions of ets-2, c-myc and N-ras were higher than those in corresponding PHC. The relationship of HBxAg to the expression of est-2, IGF-Ⅱ, c-myc and their possible roles in the carcinogenesis of PHC are discussed.
文摘Facial expressions are the straight link for showing human emotions. Psychologists have established the universality of six prototypic basic facial expressions of emotions which they believe are consistent among cultures and races. However, some recent cross-cultural studies have questioned and to some degree refuted this cultural universality. Therefore, in order to contribute to the theory of cultural specificity of basic expressions, from a composite viewpoint of psychology and HCI (Human Computer Interaction), this paper presents a methodical analysis of Western-Caucasian and East-Asian prototypic expressions focused on four facial regions: forehead, eyes-eyebrows, mouth and nose. Our analysis is based on facial expression recognition and visual analysis of facial expression images of two datasets composed by four standard databases CK+, JAFFE, TFEID and JACFEE. A hybrid feature extraction method based on Fourier coefficients is proposed for the recognition analysis. In addition, we present a cross-cultural human study applied to 40 subjects as a baseline, as well as one comparison of facial expression recognition performance between the previous cross-cultural tests from the literature. With this work, it is possible to clarify the prior considerations for working with multicultural facial expression recognition and contribute to identifying the specific facial expression differences between Western-Caucasian and East-Asian basic expressions of emotions.

文摘From viewpoint of chemical element and microstructure of wood, this paper makes a discussion on thermal diffusivity of wood and two theoretical expressions of thermal diffusivity for the choral and radial directions were derived. The thermal diffusivities of the choral and radial directions for about 20 species of trees were calculated with the derived theoretical expressions and compared with the experimental values. The average error of the theoretical values of thermal diffusivity was 7.5% for choral direction and 6.2% for radial direction.

Since the end of 1980 s, with the establishment of the joint-stock enterprises, people keep the passion for the stock market. And then a large quantity of terms of the stock appear in our life, most of them are of metaphorical meanings. This paper studies the conceptual metaphors in stock terms and the forms of K lines from the view of conceptual metaphor theory. The aims of this paper is to broaden the scope of language study, and make a interdisciplinary research, which can aid us to understand the nature of language in a new perspective. Moreover, it also provide a new view of studying the stock terms.

文摘ABC immunoperoxidase was used to test the effects of rhTGF-β1 and rhGM-CSF on receptor expressions in J6-1 and J6-2 leukemic cell lines. Computer assisted image analysis system was introduced to evaluate positive index of time-and dose-dependent specimens. The expression of c-kit was elevated both in positive rate and positive index by TGF-01 in both time- and dose-dependent manners. Ing/ml rhTGF-β1 simultaneously enhanced the expression of c-fms and PDGF-R which is not detected in 50 ng / ml GM-CSF treatment. Endoglin was down-regulated after TGF-β treatment and up-regulated in J6-2 cells after GM-CSF treatment, c-kit Expression was elevated by TGF-β in J6-1 cells while decreased by both in J6-2 cells.

文摘Lectins and leghemoglobins in legumes play the important roles, respectively, in recognition of host plants to their own rhizobia, and lowering the oxygen partial pressure surround the bacteroids and protecting nitrogenase from oxygen in symbiotic nitrogen_fixing nodules.In order to investigate the non_leguminous recognition of rhizobial bacteria relating to nitrogen fixation, plant expression vectors containing pea lectin gene ( pl ) and Parasponia hemoglobin gene ( phb ) have been, respectively, constructed in a plasmid and the plasmid has been introduced into tobacco ( Nicotiana tabacum L.) using Agrobacterium tumefaciens (Smith et Townsend) Conn as a vehicle for transformation. PCR and Southern blot demonstrated that the two genes were integrated into the genome of the tobacco plants. Histochemical staining for GUS activity, Western blotting,and in situ hybridization of pea lectin showed that they were expressed at translational level in the plants. These results may provide a clue for exploring whether Rhizobium leguminosarum bv. viciae could extend its host range and make the transgenic tobacco plants have the possibility of being symbiotic, or associative to nitrogen fixation.
文摘Pain is a strong symptom of diseases. Being an involuntary unpleasant feeling, it can be considered a reliable indicator of health issues. Pain has always been expressed verbally, but in some cases, traditional patient self-reporting is not efficient. On one side, there are patients who have neurological disorders and cannot express themselves accurately, as well as patients who suddenly lose consciousness due to an abrupt faintness. On another side, medical staff working in crowded hospitals need to focus on emergencies and would opt for the automation of the task of looking after hospitalized patients during their entire stay, in order to notice any pain-related emergency. These issues can be tackled with deep learning. Knowing that pain is generally followed by spontaneous facial behaviors, facial expressions can be used as a substitute to verbal reporting, to express pain. In this paper, a convolutional neural network (CNN) model was built and trained to detect pain through patients’ facial expressions, using the UNBC-McMaster Shoulder Pain dataset. First, faces were detected from images using the Haarcascade Frontal Face Detector provided by OpenCV, and preprocessed through gray scaling, histogram equalization, face detection, image cropping, mean filtering, and normalization. Next, preprocessed images were fed into a CNN model which was built based on a modified version of the VGG16 architecture. The model was finally evaluated and fine-tuned in a continuous way based on its accuracy, which reached 92.5%.

文摘Compactly supported radial basis function can enable the coefficient matrix of solving weigh linear system to have a sparse banded structure, thereby reducing the complexity of the algorithm. Firstly, based on the compactly supported radial basis function, the paper makes the complex quadratic function (Multiquadric, MQ for short) to be transformed and proposes a class of compactly supported MQ function. Secondly, the paper describes a method that interpolates discrete motion capture data to solve the motion vectors of the interpolation points and they are used in facial expression reconstruction. Finally, according to this characteris- tic of the uneven distribution of the face markers, the markers are numbered and grouped in accordance with the density level, and then be interpolated in line with each group. The approach not only ensures the accuracy of the deformation of face local area and smoothness, but also reduces the time complexity of computing.
