Carboniferous Highly Fractionated I-type Granites from the Kalamaili Fault Zone, Eastern Xinjiang, NW China: Petrogenesis and Tectonic Implications 被引量:2

Carboniferous magmatism is one of the most important tectonothermal events in the Central Asian Orogenic Belt(CAOB). However, the final closure time of the Kalamaili Ocean between East Junggar and Harlik Mountain is still debated. Early Carboniferous(332 Ma) and late Carboniferous(307-298 Ma) granitic magmatism from Kalamaili fault zone have been recognized by LA-ICP-MS zircon U-Pb dating. They are both metaluminous highly fractionated I-type and belong to the high-K calc-alkaline. The granitoids for early Carboniferous have zircon εHf(t) values of-5.1 to +8.5 with Hf model ages(TDM2) of 1.78-0.83 Ga, suggesting a mixed magma source of juvenile material with old continental crust. Furthermore, those for late Carboniferous have much younger heterogeneous zircon εHf(t) values(+5.1 to +13.6) with Hf model ages(TDM2=1.03-0.45 Ga) that are also indicative of juvenile components with a small involvement of old continental crust. Based on whole-rock geochemical and zircon isotopic features, these high-K granitoids were derived from melting of heterogeneous crustal sources or through mixing of old continental crust with juvenile components and minor AFC(assimilation and fractional crystallization). The juvenile components probably originated from underplated basaltic magmas in response to asthenospheric upwelling. These Carboniferous highly fractionated granites in the Kalamaili fault zone were probably emplaced in a post-collisional extensional setting and suggested vertical continental crustal growth in the southern CAOB, which is the same or like most granitoids in CAOB. This study provides new evidence for determining the post-accretionary evolution of the southern CAOB. In combination with data from other granitoids in these two terranes, the Early Carboniferous Heiguniangshan pluton represents the initial record of post-collisional environment, suggesting that the final collision between the East Junggar and Harlik Mountain might have occurred before 332 Ma. 展开更多

Objective:To evaluate the larvicidal efficacy of crude and fractionated extracts of Dracaena loureiri endocarp against Aedes aegypti,Aedes albopictus,Culex quinquefasciatus,and Anopheles minimus mosquitos.Methods:Larvicidal activity was tested according to World Health Organization standard protocol.The third-stage larvae of each mosquito species were exposed to various concentrations of Dracaena loureiri crude extract and six groups of Dracaena loureiri fractionated extracts(RC-DT 009-014).Larval mortality rates were observed after 24 h and48 h of exposure.Then,a computerized probit analysis of the mortality data was performed to determine lethal concentration 50(LC_(50))and lethal concentration 90 values.Results:Anopheles minimus larvae(24-h LC_(50)77.88 mg/L)had the highest susceptibility to crude extract,whereas others(Aedes aegypti,24-h LC_(50)224.73 mg/L;Aedes albopictus,24-h LC_(50)261.75 mg/L;and Culex quinquefasciatus,24-h LC_(50)282.86 mg/L)were significantly less susceptible.The most effective groups of fractionated extracts were RC-DT 012 and RC-DT 013.The mosquito species most susceptible to fractionated extracts was Culex quinquefasciatus,with 24-h LC_(50)values of 0.66 and 0.94 mg/L for RC-DT 012 and RC-DT 013,respectively.Conclusions:The larvicidal activity of fractionated extracts is more effective than that of crude extract against all tested mosquito species.For the most effective alternative larvicide,purification and a phytochemical constituent analysis must be performed. 展开更多

The extracts were analyzed with GC/MS. It is presented that group seperation of soluble organic compounds in the coal can be achieved by fractionated extraction using different solvents. The results show that CS2 was effective for extracting arenes from the coal sample, n-Hexane extractable fraction from Datong coal mainly consists of n-alkanes. A great variety of oxygen-containing compounds are dominant in the components of methanol-soluble fraction. Acyclic isoprenoids, pentecyclic triterpanes and a series of cyclohexanes with long-chain alkyl-substitutes are detected in acetone-soluble fraction. Dicyclic aramatic hydrocarbons are identified in benzene-soluble fraction and 4-6 cyclic condensed aramatic hydrocarbons are identified in THF-soluble fraction. The molecular structures detection of 1,2-dichlorobenzene, 2,4-dibromophnol, 2,4,6-tribromophenol and 4-chlorobenzophenone firstly provide information for existence form of bromine and chlorine in coal. 展开更多

A two-dimensional depth-integrated numerical model is refined in this paper to simulate the hydrodynamics, graded sediment transport process and the fate of faecal bacteria in estuarine and coastal waters. The sediment mixture is divided into several fractions according to the grain size. A bed evolution model is adopted to simulate the processes of the bed elevation change and sediment grain size sorting. The faecal bacteria transport equation includes enhanced source and sink terms to represent bacterial kinetic transformation and disappearance or reappearance due to sediment deposition or re-suspension. A novel partition ratio and dynamic decay rates of faecal bacteria are adopted in the numerical model. The model has been applied to the turbid water environment in the Bristol Channel and Severn estuary, UK. The predictions by the present model are compared with field data and those by non-fractionated model. 展开更多

Alternating chemotherapy and fractionated radiotherapy were carried out in 32 patients with surgically proven unresectable primary liver cancer (PLC).After initial surgical intervention of hepatic artery ligation and cannulation,the tumor war localized with silver clips.The cisplatin 20 mg was infused via a hepatic artery catheter per day on the first 3 consecutive days.Fractionated radiation(18MV straight linear accelerator)of 250 cGy,twice a day with an interval of 6 hours,was then followed on the 8th,9th and 10th days.The cycle was repeated 3 or 4 times.The shrinkage of tumors and decrease of AFP level were observed in 100%(32/32)and 5% (19/21)of the patients respectively.A second-stage resection was done in 37.5%(12/32)of the patients.The 1-,3- and 5-year survival rates after resection were 96.7% ,67.5% and 67. 5 % respectively.It is suggested that this modality is a choice of therapies which can convert some unresectable large PLC to resectable ones. 展开更多

Objective To investigate the mechanism of low-dose fractionated radiation on reversing cisplatin resistance in ovarian carcinoma via vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) and mammalian target of rapamycin(mTOR) in vivo.Methods Human cisplatin-resistant ovarian carcinoma cells(SKOV3/DDP) were injected into nude mice to establish ovarian cancer xenografts. The mice were randomly divided into three groups: a control group, a low-dose fractionated radiation(LDRFT) group, and a conventional-dose radiation group. Each group was exposed to 0 cGy, 50 cGy, and 200 cGy radiation, respectively, for 4 weeks, up to a total of 8.0 Gy. Mice in the LDFRT group were irradiated twice daily with 6 hour intermissions on day 1 and 2 of every week for a total of 4 weeks. Conventional-dose group mice were given a single 200 cGy radiation dose on the first day each week for a total of 4 weeks. Maximum horizontal and vertical diameters of the tumors were measured every other day and used to create a tumor growth curve. After 4 weeks of irradiation, we dissected the tumor tissue and calculated the tumor inhibition rate. RT-PCR detected the expression of VEGF and m TOR, and Western blots detected the expression of corresponding proteins.Results Both LDRFT and conventional-dose radiation inhibited the growth of tumor cells, and growth of tumors in the two radiation groups compared with growth in the control group were significantly different(P < 0.05). The rate of tumor inhibition in the LDFRT group(37.5603%) was lower than in the conventionaldose group(47.4446%), but there was no significant difference(P 0.05). Compared with the other two groups, the m RNA expression of VEGF was significantly lower in the LDFRT group(P < 0.05), but there was no obvious difference between the conventional-dose and control groups. There was no obvious difference in the m RNA expression of m TOR among the three groups, but the expression of the protein p-m TOR was lower in the LDFRT group(P < 0.05), as confirmed by Western blotting.Conclusion LDFRT is as effective at inhibiting the growth of tumor cells as conventional-dose radiation. In addition, LDFRT could deregulate the expression of VEGF and p-m TOR, and may therefore play a vital role in reversing cisplatin resistance in ovarian cancer. 展开更多

Objective To investigate whether low-dose fractionated radiation(LDFRT) could enhance cisplatin sensitivity in drug-resistant human ovarian cancer cells SKOV3/DDP, and to further explore the underlying mechanism.Methods SKOV3/DDP ovarian cancer cells were divided into three groups as follows: control, LDFRT, and conventional-dose radiation groups. Cells from all three groups were treated with different concentrations of cisplatin(0, 1.25, 2.5, 5, 10, and 20 μg/m L) for 48 h. The proliferation inhibition rate was investigated using the cell counting kit 8(CCK8). The rate of apoptosis was determined by flow cytometry(FCM). Protein levels of AKT, P-AKT, GSK-3β, P-GSK-3β, P21, cyclin D1, and P27 were examined by Western blotting. Results As expected, LDFRT significantly reduced the half-maximal inhibitory concentration(IC50) of cisplatin and promoted apoptosis in SKOV3/DDP cells. Moreover, in the LDFRT group, protein levels of P-AKT, P-GSK-3β, and cyclin D1 were markedly decreased, those of P21 and P27 were greatly increased, and total AKT and GSK-3β levels showed no significant difference compared to those in both the control and conventional-dose radiation groups.Conclusion LDFRT sensitizes resistant SKOV3/DDP ovarian cancer cells to cisplatin through inactivation of PI3 K/AKT/GSK-3β signaling. 展开更多

The restraining effect of nano-phytoplankton on pico-phytoplankton growth was stronger in M2 than in M1. When nutrients were abundant, the relative growth rate of diatom was higher than that of P. donghaiense, and they reached the peak quickly and then came to die out very fast. FSC (Fractionated Spacecraft Cluster) is a kind of loosely distributed space system which is comprised of multiple physically independent spacecrafts orbiting closely and interactively communicating via wireless network. Spaceborne ad-hoc network, as the physical infrastructure for information exchanging, is one of the enabling technologies of FSC. The demonstration of FSC flying supported by ad-hoc network is worth for the sake of proving the rationality of FSC and seeking technological improvements. Considering this, a NNP (Network Node Prototype) for spaceborne ad-hoc network is developed in this paper, which transmits the information required by the FSC cooperation. Four NNPs are then built up and collaborated into a hardware-in-loop simulation system, in which a typical loose satellite cluster flying mission was performed. The simulation results showed that the NNPs can support the inter-satellite communication for satellite cluster flying. 展开更多

Objective To evaluate the effect of accelerated hyperfractionated irradiation (AHFJ) and conventional fractionated irradiation (CFI) for local advanced non- small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Methods The patients of AI-IFJ group were irradiated to large-field target volume by a daily fraction of 2Gy, and small-field target volume by a daily fraction of 1Gy with more than 6h interval. The total dose of large-field target volume was SOGy/25Fx/SW and of small-field target volume was 7SGy/SOFx/5W. The patients in CFI group were irradiated by a daily fraction of 2Gy to the total dose of 66Gy/33Fx/6. 6W. After 3 months of radiotherapy, the tumor response rates of complete recovery (CR), partial recovery (PR), and no change (NC) and 1- and 2- year survival rate in the two groups were observed. Results The tumor response rates of CR,PR,NC in AHFI group and CFI group were 22.9%(8/35), 60.0%(21/35), 17.1%(6/35) and 11.4% (4/35), 51.4% (18/35), 37.2% (13/35) respectively (P>0. 05). All patients were followed up 2 years or more. The 1- and 2- year survival rates in AHFI group and CFI group were 62.9% (22/35), 31 .4% (11/35) and 42.9% (15/35) , 17.1% (6/35) respectively (P< 0.05). The incidences of esophagitis and pneumonitis in AHFI group and CFI group were 34.3% (12/35), 22. 9% (8/35) and 40.0% (14/35), 17.1% (6/35)(P>0. 05). Conclusion In comparison with CFI, AHFI may increase 1- and 2- year sur-vival rate after treatment of local advanced non-small cell lung cancer, while the radio-reactions, either early or late, did not increase significantly. 展开更多

Iron isotopes are important for tracing the magmatic process.The fractionation of iron isotopes in granite is up to 0.55‰.In this study,Wangjiagou(XWJ)granite and Tayueping(XTY)granite in the Xinxian pluton of the Western Dabie orogen were evaluated.Both the XTY and XWJ granite belong to monzogranites,with high SiO2(74.42-76.82 wt.%)contents.The granites are depleted of Nb and Ti but enriched with Pb and K,and they display negative Eu anomalies(Eu/Eu^(*)=0.40-0.52)on REE plots that are normalized by chondrite.Theδ^(56)Fe values of the XTY granites vary from 0.19±0.03‰to0.27±0.04‰,and theδ^(56)Fe values of the XWJ granites are 0.34±0.02‰and 0.36±0.01‰,respectively.Both the XTY and the XWJ granites belong to highly fractionated granites due to their SI(solidification index),DI(differentiation index),and content of CaO.Evidence from the iron isotopes shows that neither fluid exsolution,alteration,weathering,nor partial melting can explain the enrichment of the heavy iron isotopes.The results modeled using the Rayleigh equation showed that fractional crystallization can produceΔ^(56)Femelt-crystalwith the value of0.08-0.15‰.In conclusion,fractional crystallization was the main factor controlling the fractionation of iron isotopes,and the change of melt composition may also lead to the enrichment of heavy iron isotopes in the residual melt. 展开更多

Background and aim of work: We aimed from this study to determine the response and local relapse free survival (RFS) of pediatric patients with localized Ewing’s sarcoma treated with accelerated hyper-fractionated RT. Patient and methods: This study was a nonrandomized uncontrolled phase II study and was conducted at clinical oncology department and south Egypt cancer institute;it involved 28 patients with histologically confirmed Ewing’s sarcoma;all of them were subjected to PET/CT whenever possible or MRI with contrast of the primary site, MSCT chest, bone scan, and LDH to ensure absence of metastasis followed by the protocol of accelerated hyper fractionated RT. Results: The overall response rate (ORR) was 92.9% by MRI with significant effect of the type of response on local RFS (P 0.002). The median local RFS of 28 patients with localized Ewing’s sarcoma was 30 ± 8.599 months with 95% CI = 13.147 - 46.853;the 3-year local control was 35%. Conclusion: Accelerated hyper fractionated RT didn’t achieve better results than standard fractionation RT, but it is recommended to be done on a large sample size, and multiple centers, and continued follow up is also recommended to evaluate 5-year LRFS, 5-year OS. 展开更多

The South China Sea(SCS), which is the largest marginal sea in the western tropical Pacific, plays an important role in regional climate change. However, the research on the phytoplankton community structure(PCS) response to the upwelling remains inadequate. In January 2014, the upwelling simulation experiment was performed in the western SCS. Results indicate that the nutrient-rich bottom water not only increased the total Chlorophyll a(Chl a) concentrations, but would potentially altered the PCS. Due to new nutrients added, microphytoplankton had more sensitivity response to nutrient uptake than other phytoplankton groups. The variation of nutrients induced by formation, weakening and disappearance of upwelling resulted in phytoplankton species succession from cyanophyta to bacillariophyta. It may be the leading factor of the changes in PCS and size-fractionated Chl a. The initial concentration of DIP less than 0.1 μmol L-1 could not sustain the phytoplankton growth. This indicates that phosphorus may be the limiting factor in the western SCS. 展开更多

Background: Most data on laser resurfacing have come from studies of people with Fitzpatrick skin types 1 - 3;however, the world’s population is comprised mostly of Fitzpatrick skin types 4 - 6, which are more susceptible to post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH). Objective: For the purpose of expanding the expertise of plastic surgeons treating patients with darker skin types, this study examined the incidence of PIH in Asians who underwent laser resurfacing, including a histologic arm on fractional ablative resurfacing. Methods & Materials: The clinical study included six subjects of Vietnamese origin who underwent single-depth fractionated CO2 laser resurfacing. The histologic study involved a seventh subject. The MiXto SX&reg;laser with a new scanning handpiece was used, along with magnifying loupes to assess ablative depth after each of three laser passes performed. Photographs were taken at various postoperative intervals. Results: All six clinical subjects showed cosmetic improvement in skin texture and tone with no post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. In the histologic study, H&E stained sections revealed uniform diathermy. Conclusion: It is possible to significantly reduce PIH in darker skinned subjects through use of a new scanning handpiece and a technique using loupes to assess the depth of ablative resurfacing. Surface water was collected from the Jiulong Estuary for determination of activity concentrations of uranium isotopes in different size fractions, namely, greater than 53, 10 -53, 2 - 10, 0.4 -2 μm, 10 000 u -0.4 μm and less than 10 000 u fractions by microfihration and cross-flow uhrafiltration technologies. Results indicated that most of the dissolved uranium ( 〈 0.4 μm) exis- ted in the low molecular mass fraction ( 〈 10 000 u), and the colloidal uranium-238 (10 000 u -0.4 μm) only contributed less than 1% of the dissolved uranium-238. The fractions of colloidal uranium in the dissolved phases decreased with the increasing sa- linity. A positive linear relationship between uranium-238 activities and salinities was observed for the dissolved, colloidal and low molecular mass fractions, indicating a conservative behavior of uranium in the Jiulong Estuary. In the particulate phases ( 〉 0.4 μm), the partitioning of uranium isotopes among different size fractions was controlled by the partitioning of particle concentrations. In the regions with salinities below 20, the partitioning of uranium-238 among different size fractions was as follows: 10 - 53 μm 〉 2 - 10 μm 〉 0.4 - 2 μm greater than above 53 μm. However, the order at the offshore station with salinities above 30 changed as follows : 0.4 - 2 μm 〉 10 - 53 μm 〉 2 - 10 μm greater than above 53 μm. The fraction of the 0.4 - 2 μm particles increased at the offshore station, suggesting the increased contribution of the authigenic uranium. The activity ratio of uranium-234 to uranium-238 in the dissolved phases, including the low molecular mass fraction and the colloidal fraction, was larger than unity, showing the occurrence of excess uranium-234. In contrast, the activity ratio of uranium-234 to uranium-238 in all size fractions of the particulate phase was close to the equilibrium value (1.0). The observed different values of the activity ratio of uranium-234 to uranium-238 in the dissolved phase and the particulate phase were ascribed to the preferential leaching of uranium-234 and the small amount of the leaching particulate uranium. The mass ratio of thorium-232 to uranium-238 also showed different values between the dissolved phase and the particulate phase. Mass ratio of thorium-232 to uranium-238 in the dissolved, colloidal and low molecular mass fractions was less than unity, while those in the different size fractions of particulate phases were larger than unity, reflecting a different behavior between uranium and thorium during their transport into the ocean. 展开更多

Good correlations between 210Po and particulate organic carbon (POC) or non-Particulate Organic Matter (nPOM) suggested that 210Po can be used to trace the export fluxes of POC and nPOM. Both steady-state (SS) model and nSS model were used to evaluate fluxes of size-fractionated 210Po, results showed that nSS model was better than the SS model in coastal areas. Based on the nSS model, size-fractionated POC fluxes decreased with increasing particle size. For the particle size studied, maximum POC fluxes occurred in autumn, followed by spring, winter, and summer. Fluxes of nPOM were an order of magnitude higher than the corresponding size-fractionated POC fluxes. Differences between size-fractionated nPOM fluxes indicated that hydrodynamic conditions were the main factor regulating transportation of particulate out of the inner Bay. In winter most particulates, including >10 μm particles, were transported under the strongest hydrodynamic conditions. In contrast, only a fraction of the <2 μm particulates were transported from the inner Bay in spring. This study suggested that 210Po is a powerful tracer of seasonal particulate export in coastal seas. 展开更多

The molecular interactions in different phases and their changes duringthe transitions were discussed. Abrupt frequency shift was found for bands of groups both in mesogens and flexible spacers during fusion and isotropization transitions. It may imply that both the mesogens and the flexible spacers are included in the same crystalline phase and give their contributions to the formation of the mesophase. The splitting into doublet of the C—O stretching vibrations was observed for both the aromatic and aliphatic esters and was attributed to the existence of local regions for ester groups different in ordering. The more ordered regions do not disappear completely even in the isotropic liquid phase. 展开更多
