Influence of Current Density on the Photocatalytic Activity of Nd:TiO_(2) Coatings

The Nd:TiO_(2 )PEO coatings were formed in a phosphate-based electrolyte with the addition of Nd_(2)O_(3 )under the current density of 150,200,250 and 300 m A/cm^(2).SEM results showed that the micropores decreased on quantity and increased on scale with the increasing current density.AFM results revealed that the roughness of the coatings increased with the increasing current density.Phase and composition analysis showed that the Nd:TiO_(2) coatings were mainly composed of anatase and rutile phase.And the anatase phase content has reached the maximum value at the current density of 250 m A/cm^(2).XPS results indicated that Ti2p spin-orbit components of the Nd:TiO_(2) coatings are shifted towards higher binding energy,compared with the pure TiO_(2) coating,suggesting that some of the Nd^(3+)ions are combined with TiO_(2) lattice and led to dislocation.Photocatalytic test showed that the photocatalytic activity of Nd:TiO_(2) coatings varied in the same pattern with the anatase content variation in Nd:TiO_(2) coatings.The photocatalytic experiment results show that the photocatalytic activity of Nd:TiO_(2) coatings can be greatly enhanced with moderate amount of Nd^(3+).However,excessive amount of Nd^(3+)does not have an effective impact on the photoctalytic activity improvement. 展开更多

Co_(3)O_(4)/TiO_(2) composite photocatalyst:Preparation and synergistic degradation performance of toluene

TiO_(2) nanobelts and Co_(3)O_(4)/TiO_(2) catalytic materials were prepared using the hydrothermal method.The cat-alyst was characterized by X-ray diffraction,scanning electron microscopy,transmission electron microscopy,X-ray electron spectroscopy,and fluorescence spectroscopy.At room temperature,with a relative humidity of 50.0%,the total gas flow rate of 1.0 L·min-1,the space velocity of 1.05×10^(4) h^(-1),and toluene volume concentration of 25.0µL·L^(-1),two 6 W vacuum ultraviolet lamps were used as light sources to catalyze,degrade,and mineralize toluene.The results show that the prepared catalyst is in the shape of nano-ribbons.The loading of Co_(3)O_(4) inhibits the recombina-tion of photogenerated electrons and holes and can effectively improve the catalytic performance.The Co_(3)O_(4)/TiO_(2) with a load of 6.0%Co_(3)O_(4) has the best catalytic effect.When N2 was used as a carrier gas,the degradation rate of tol-uene was only 34.7%.The toluene degradation is mainly due to the photolysis of vacuum ultraviolet light.When air was used as a carrier gas,O_(3) was produced.The Co_(3)O_(4)/TiO_(2) with a load of 6.0%and vacuum ultraviolet synergistical-ly promote toluene degradation.The highest degradation rate of toluene was 91.7%and the mineralization rate was 74.6%.The degradation rate of toluene was 2.6 times that of nitrogen as a carrier gas. 展开更多

The study investigated the application of radiofrequency(RF)-sputtered TiO2 coatings at various temperatures to enhance the hydrophobicity and corrosion resistance of Al6061 alloy.The research aimed to establish a correlation between the coating process and the resulting surface properties.Surface roughness and wettability were quantified with a surface profilometer and goniometer.Additionally,chemical boiling and salt spray corrosion tests were conducted to evaluate any topographical changes during these procedures.The analysis further involved the use of field-emission scanning electron microscopy(FESEM),energy-dispersive spectroscopy(EDS),and X-ray diffraction(XRD)techniques to characterize the deposited coatings.The findings indicated that the TiO2 coating applied at 500℃exhibited the highest water contact angle and superior corrosion resistance compared to other temperatures.Surface characterization confirmed that this specific TiO_(2) coating at 500℃ effectively delays corrosion due to its hydrophobic behavior,making it durable for industrial applications. 展开更多

Bromine has attracted significant attention as a cathode material for aqueous batteries due to its high reduction potential of 1.05 V(Br_(3)^(-)+2e~-■3Br~-),impressive theoretical specific capacity of 223 mA h g^(-1),and rapid reaction kinetics in the electrolyte.However,searching for compatible anode materials to match with bromine has posed a challenge due to its highly corrosive nature.In this study,we developed oxygen-deficient MoO_(3) with TiO_(2) coating(referred to as MoO_(3-x)@TiO_(2))as an anode material to pair with a bromine cathode in static full batteries.The oxygen deficiency contributes to enhanced electronic and protonic diffusion within the MoO_(3-x)lattice,while the TiO_(2) coating mitigates structural dissolution and proton trapping during cycling.The MoO_(3-x)@TiO_(2) demonstrates fast charge storage kinetics and excellent resistance to bromine corrosion.The impressive compatibility between MoO_(3-x)@TiO_(2) and bromine enables the construction of membrane-less full batteries with exceptional rate capability and cyclic stability.The MoO_(3-x)@TiO_(2)-bromine battery achieves an energy density of70.8 W h kg^(-1)at a power density of 328.1 W kg^(-1),showcasing an impressive long-term cyclic life of 20,000 cycles.Our study provides valuable insights for the development of high-performance aqueous secondary batteries. 展开更多

A designed Mg_(88.7)Ni_(6.3)Y_(5)hydrogen storage alloy containing 14H type LPSO(long-period stacking ordered)and ternary eutectic structure was prepared by regulating the alloy composition and casting.The hydrogen storage performance of the alloy was improved by adding nano-flower-like TiO_(2)@C catalyst.The decomposition of the LPSO structure during hydrogenation led to the formation of plenty of nanocrystals which provided abundant interphase boundaries and activation sites.The nanoscale TiO_(2)@C catalyst was uniformly dispersed on the surface of alloy particles,and the"hydrogen overflow''effect of TiO_(2)@C accelerated the dissociation and diffusion of hydrogen on the surface of the alloy particles.As a result,the in-situ endogenous nanocrystals of the LPSO structure decomposition and the externally added flower-like TiO_(2)@C catalyst uniformly dispersed on the surface of the nanoparticles played a synergistic catalytic role in improving the hydrogen storage performance of the Mg-based alloy.With the addition of the TiO_(2)@C catalyst,the beginning hydrogen desorption temperature was reduced to 200℃.Furthermore,the saturated hydrogen absorption capacity of the sample was 5.32 wt.%,and it reached 4.25 wt.%H_(2) in 1 min at 200℃and 30 bar. 展开更多

Nanocomposite films consisting of carboxymethyl cellulose,polyethylene oxide(CMC/PEO),and anatase titanium diox-ide(TO)were produced by the use of sol-gel and solution casting techniques.TiO2 nanocrystals were effectively incorporated into CMC/PEO polymers,as shown by X-ray diffraction(XRD)and attenuated total reflectance fourier transform infrared(ATR-FTIR)analysis.The roughness growth is at high levels of TO nanocrystals(TO NCs),which means increasing active sites and defects in CMC/PEO.In differential scanning calorimetry(DSC)thermograms,the change in glass transition temperature(Tg)val-ues verifies that the polymer blend interacts with TO NCs.The increment proportions of TO NCs have a notable impact on the dielectric performances of the nanocomposites,as observed.The electrical properties of the CMC/PEO/TO nanocomposite undergo significant changes.The nanocomposite films exhibit a red alteration in the absorption edge as the concentration of TO NCs increases in the polymer blend.The decline in the energy gap is readily apparent as the weight percentage of TO NCs increases.The photoluminescence(PL)emission spectra indicate that the sites of the luminescence peak maximums show slight variation;peaks get wider,while their intensities decrease dramatically as the concentration of TO increases.These nanocomposite materials show potential for multifunctional applications including optoelectronics,antireflection coatings,pho-tocatalysis,light emitting diodes,and solid polymer electrolytes. 展开更多

The natural Melanin/TiO_(2) was synthesized by the use of ultrasonication under UV radiation.The influence of natural melanin on the structural,optical and thermal properties of TiO_(2) nanoparticles was investigated by using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy,thermogravimetric analysis and UV-Vis spectroscopy.It was observed that incorporating natural melanin on TiO_(2) nanoparticles(TiO_(2)-Mel)occurred at 2.01 eV with a low value of Urbach energy around 100 meV indicating improvement in the crystalline structure.Magnetic measurement at room temperature showed diamagnetic behavior.Furthermore,thermal results showed that TiO_(2)-Mel is stable even at temperatures up to 400℃.According to the results obtained by the thermal stability of melanin with titanium dioxide,it can be a good candidate in many applications such as solar cells and optoelectronics. 展开更多

An efficient room-temperature self-powered,broadband(300 nm–1100 nm)photodetector based on a CuO–TiO_(2)/TiO_(2)/p-Si(100)heterostructure is demonstrated.The CuO–TiO_(2)nanocomposites were grown in a two-zone horizontal tube furnace on a 40 nm TiO_(2)thin film deposited on a p-type Si(100)substrate.The CuO–TiO_(2)/TiO_(2)/p-Si(100)devices exhibited excellent rectification characteristics under dark and individual photoillumination conditions.The devices showed remarkable photo-response under broadband(300–1100 nm)light illumination at zero bias voltage,indicating the achievement of highly sensitive self-powered photodetectors at visible and near-infrared light illuminations.The maximum response of the devices is observed at 300 nm for an illumination power of 10 W.The response and recovery times were calculated as 86 ms and 78 ms,respectively.Moreover,under a small bias,the devices showed a prompt binary response by altering the current from positive to negative under illumination conditions.The main reason behind this binary response is the low turn-on voltage and photovoltaic characteristics of the devices.Under illumination conditions,the generation of photocurrent is due to the separation of photogenerated electron-hole pairs within the built-in electric field at the CuO–TiO_(2)/TiO_(2)interface.These characteristics make the CuO–TiO_(2)/TiO_(2)broadband photodetectors suitable for applications that require high response speeds and self-sufficient functionality. 展开更多

All samples exhibite... The study focused on the modification with platinum of dark defective titania obtained via pulsed laser ablation. Both the method of Pt introduction and the nature of the Pt precursor were varied. All samples exhibited similar phase compositions, specific surface areas, and Pt contents. High-resolution transmission electron microscopy coupled with pulsed CO adsorption revealed increased dispersity when photoreduction and the hydroxonitrate complex (Me _(4) N) _(2) [Pt _(2) (OH) _(2) (NO _(3) ) _(8) ] were used. The sample featured a high content of single-atom species and subnano-sized Pt clusters. The X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy results showed that the photoreduction method facilitated the appearance of a larger number of Pt ^(2+) states, which appeared owing to the strong metal-support interaction (SMSI) eff ect of the transfer of electron density from the electron-saturated defects on the TiO _(2) surface to Pt ^(4+) . In the hydrogen evolution reaction, samples with a significant fraction of the Pt ^(2+) ionic component, capable of generating short-lived Pt^(0) single-atom sites under irradiation due to the SMSI eff ect, exhibited the highest photocatalytic activity. The 0.5Pt(C)/TiO_(2) -Ph sample exhibited the highest hydrogen yield with a quantum efficiency of 0.53, retaining its activity even after 8 h of operation. 展开更多

In the current research,a thorough examination unfolds concerning the attributes of magnetohydrodynamic(MHD)boundary layer flow and heat transfer inherent to nanoliquids derived from Sisko Al_(2)O_(3)-Eg and TiO_(2)-Eg compositions.Such nanoliquids are subjected to an extending surface.Consideration is duly given to slip boundary conditions,as well as the effects stemming from variable viscosity and variable thermal conductivity.The analytical approach applied involves the application of suitable similarity transformations.These conversions serve to transform the initial set of complex nonlinear partial differential equations into a more manageable assembly of ordinary differential equations.Through the utilization of the FEM,these reformulated equations are solved,considering the specified boundary conditions.The outcomes attained are graphically depicted by means of plots and tables.These visual aids facilitate a comprehensive exploration of how diverse parameters exert influence over the distributions of velocity,temperature,and concentration.Furthermore,detailed scrutiny is directed towards the fluctuations characterizing pivotal parameters,viz.,Nusselt number,skin-friction coefficient,and Sherwood number.It is identified that the Nusselt number showcases a diminishing trend coinciding with increasing values of the volume fraction parameter(φ).This trend remains consistent regardless of whether the nanoliquid under consideration is Al_(2)O_(3)-Eg or TiO_(2)-Eg based.In contrast,both the skin-friction coefficient and Sherwood number assume lower values as the volume fraction parameter(φ)escalates.This pattern remains congruent across both classifications of nanoliquids.The findings of the study impart valuable insights into the complex interplay governing the characteristics of HMT pertaining to Sisko Al_(2)O_(3)-Eg and TiO_(2)-Eg nanoliquids along an extending surface. 展开更多

ZnO因其自身的高电荷复合、化学性质活泼,导致其应用受到限制,通过表面修饰进行复合可实现电子-空穴的分离并提高其化学稳定性。以二水合醋酸锌、六水合硝酸锌、六氟钛酸铵为原料,采用溶胶-凝胶、水热和液相沉积相结合的方法,在低温条件下制备出ZnO/TiO_(2)单异质结。采用XRD、SEM、EDS、TEM、PL等对样品进行表征并对其光电性能进行测试。结果表明,在沉积时间为20 min时,ZnO/TiO_(2)核-壳结构形貌最规整,其中ZnO直径约115 nm,TiO_(2)薄膜厚度约7.6 nm;TiO_(2)的负载,降低了电极中光生电荷的复合,提高了ZnO对光子的收集能力,光电流密度提升大约10倍,达到0.21μA/cm^(2),表现出优异的光电化学性能。 展开更多

为了掌握Y原子掺杂在锐钛矿TiO_(2)(101)表面的稳定吸附位置和电子结构变化,提高其表面光催化活性,本文利用基于密度泛函理论的第一性原理计算研究了Y原子掺杂在完美的、带有亚表层氧空位和带有表层氧空位的锐钛矿TiO_(2)(101)表面的结... 为了掌握Y原子掺杂在锐钛矿TiO_(2)(101)表面的稳定吸附位置和电子结构变化,提高其表面光催化活性,本文利用基于密度泛函理论的第一性原理计算研究了Y原子掺杂在完美的、带有亚表层氧空位和带有表层氧空位的锐钛矿TiO_(2)(101)表面的结构稳定性和电子性能。结构优化和电荷密度结果表明,Y原子可以稳定吸附在三种不同的表面上。在完美表面吸附时,Y原子最稳定的吸附位置是两个三配位O原子之间的空位;与完美表面类似,在带有亚表层氧空位表面吸附时,Y原子最稳定吸附位置是与氧空位邻近的两个三配位O原子之间的空位;而在带有表层氧空位表面吸附时,Y原子则停留于氧空位邻近的四配位Ti原子位置上最稳定。电荷密度计算结果也表明Y原子与这三种表面结合非常稳固。电子态密度计算结果表明,在带有表层氧空位的锐钛矿TiO_(2)(101)表面引入Y原子会在费米面附近的带隙中引入缺陷态,带隙从1.67 eV降至1.44 eV,这有可能引起电子的分级跃迁,提高表面光催化能力。本文的研究为利用单原子Y掺杂提高TiO_(2)(101)表面光催化能力提供了理论支持。 展开更多

化工、纺织印染与农药化肥等产业的蓬勃发展推动着人类社会的进步,但同时也给环境治理带来了巨大难题。目前,光催化降解局限于在特定波长下针对单一有机污染物进行降解,然而现实中的情况往往更复杂。因此,开发一种多功能光催化材料用于... 化工、纺织印染与农药化肥等产业的蓬勃发展推动着人类社会的进步,但同时也给环境治理带来了巨大难题。目前,光催化降解局限于在特定波长下针对单一有机污染物进行降解,然而现实中的情况往往更复杂。因此,开发一种多功能光催化材料用于光催化降解不同有机污染物显得尤为重要。采用一步无模板溶剂热法合成了核壳结构的C-TiO_(2)复合材料前驱体,并在氩气气氛下煅烧得到高结晶度的C-TiO_(2)复合光催化材料。运用SEM、TEM、XRD和TG等表征手段对材料进行表征,结论如下:550℃煅烧时的样品为包含少量碳的高结晶度的锐钛矿相TiO 2,且550℃煅烧时的样品依然保持了完整的核壳结构。此外,C-TiO_(2)复合材料的比表面积高达85.69 m 2·g^(-1),平均孔径为16.4 nm以及孔体积为0.423 m 3·g^(-1)。在UV-Vis光照射下,C-TiO_(2)复合材料分别对罗丹明B(RhB)、亚甲基蓝(MB)和刚果红(CR)3种染料显示出增强的光催化降解活性。 展开更多

将钛酸四丁酯直接水解制备了无定形TiO_(2)〔TiO_(2)(Am)〕,将钛酸四丁酯在硝酸镧溶液或氟化铵溶液或其混合溶液中水解,分别制备了La掺杂型、F掺杂型以及F、La共掺杂型光催化剂,分别记为La-TiO_(2)(Am)、F-TiO_(2)(Am)和F-La-TiO_(2)(Am... 将钛酸四丁酯直接水解制备了无定形TiO_(2)〔TiO_(2)(Am)〕,将钛酸四丁酯在硝酸镧溶液或氟化铵溶液或其混合溶液中水解,分别制备了La掺杂型、F掺杂型以及F、La共掺杂型光催化剂,分别记为La-TiO_(2)(Am)、F-TiO_(2)(Am)和F-La-TiO_(2)(Am)。采用XRD、FTIR、XPS、UV-Vis DRS、SEM、PL及VB-XPS对其进行了表征,比较了其对模拟柴油〔二苯并噻吩(DBT)的正十二烷溶液〕的催化脱硫性能。结果表明,F、La共掺杂提升了TiO_(2)(Am)的吸光度和光吸收边缘红移程度,F的电负性使F-La-TiO_(2)(Am)的禁带宽度变窄,La—O键的生成为F-La-TiO_(2)(Am)提供了更多的氧空位,促进了杂质能级的生成,有效抑制了电子-空穴的复合。在以H_(2)O_(2)为氧化剂、无水甲醇为萃取剂、V(无水甲醇)∶V(模拟油)=1.0∶1、F-La-TiO_(2)(Am)用量为模拟柴油质量的1.0%、n(双氧水中O原子)∶n(DBT中S原子)=15∶1、反应时间3.0 h的条件下,模拟柴油脱硫率为94.10%。F-La-TiO_(2)(Am)使用4次后,脱硫率仍可达85.40%。在脱硫过程中,超氧自由基和空穴为主要活性物种,可将DBT转化成极性更强的亚砜和砜类物质,经由无水甲醇溶解后实现脱除。 展开更多

Both Ti foil and porous Ti were anodized in 0.5%HF and in ethylene glycol electrolyte containing 0.5%NH4F(mass fraction) separately. The results show that TiO2 nanotubes can be formed on Ti foil by both processes, whereas TiO2 nanotubes can be formed on porous Ti only in the second process. The overhigh current density led to the failure of the formation nanotubes on porous Ti in 0.5%HF electrolyte. TiO2 nanotubes were characterized by SEM and XRD. TiO2 nanotubes on porous Ti were thinner than those on Ti foil. Anatase was formed when TiO2 nanotubes were annealed at 400 °C and fully turned into rutile at 700 °C. To obtain good photodegradation, the optimal heat treatment temperature of TiO2 nanotubes was 450 °C. The porosity of the substrates influenced photodegradation properties. TiO2 nanotubes on porous Ti with 60% porosity had the best photodegradation. 展开更多
