Method Fifty patients of post-herpetic neuralgia treated with needle-embedding therapy from January 2013 to June 2014 at Department of pain of the Second People's Hospital of Yibin City were selected. At each time of needle-embedding therapy, 4-8 points were selected. Patients were treated once a day, 5 times for a course of treatment and received a total of 1-3 courses of treatment. Meanwhile, the curative effect was analyzed in accordance with Criteria of Diagnosis and Therapeutic Effect of Diseases and Syndromes in Traditional Chinese Medicine. Result Among the 50 patients, the markedly effective rate was 84.0% (42/50), the effective rate was 16.0% (8/50) and the total effective rate was 100.0%. Conclusion Needle-embedding therapy for the treatment of post-herpetic neuralgia offers a good curative effect.展开更多

Methods: 93 cases of vascular headache were randomly auocated into acupuncture group (n= 30), treated by puncturing Fengchi (GB 20), Ashi point and Sanyinjiao (SP 6) on the sick side, acupuncture plus needle-embedding group (n= 36), treated by basic acupuncture treatment plus ncedle-embedding method in Taiyang (Ex HN 5) and Xuanzhong (GB 39) on the sick side, and control group (n = 27), treated with oral administration of 5 mg Sibelium, twice a day, for observation of the changes in the clinical symptoms before and after treatments in the patients of three groups. Results: After treatment, the clinical symptoms in the patients of three groups were relieved or disappeared. The recent therapeutic effect was better in acupuncture plus needle-embedding group than in the control group (P〈 0.05), and there was no sig nificant difference (P〉 0.05) between the acupuncture plus needle-embedding group and acupuncture group and there was no significant difference (P〉 0.05)between acupuncture group and control group, either. The long-term therapeutic effect was better in the acupuncture plus ncedle-embedding group than in the control group (P〈 0.01), in the acupuncture group than in the control group (P 〈 0.05), and there was no significant difference between the acupuncture plus needle-embedding group and acupuncture group. Conclusion: Acupuncture treatment of vascular headache offers a better recent and longterm therapeutic effect, and acupuncture plus needle-embedding method is much better in the therapeutic effect.展开更多

Methods: Seventy-six patients with stable angina pectoris were divided into needle-embedding therapy group (group A) and basic treatment group (group B) according to the random number table, with 38 patients in each group. Needle-embedding therapy combined with basic treatment was adopted in group A, and needle-embedding was given once every other day, the needles were retained for 24 h each time and three times of treatment were given each week. basic treatment was applied solely in group B. Four weeks of treatment which means one course were given in two groups, efficacy observation and evaluation were carried out after 1 course of treatment. Results: After treatment, the total effective rate of clinical efficacy was 89.47% in group A and 71.05% in group B (p 〈 0.05), and the total effective rate of electrocardiograph (ECG) efficacy was 84.21% in group A and 63.16% in group B (p〈0.05). After treatment, the score of limitation of motion, score of the sta- ble state of angina pectoris and the score of angina pectoris attack in group A increased by 0.7%, 34,5% and 16.9% respectively when compared with the scores before treatment (t= 1.623, p 〈0.0l; t=3.867, p 〈 0.01 ; t = 1.958, p 〈 0.05), and according to the comparison of the score of satisfaction with treatment and the score of disease perception before and after treatment, the difference was not statistically significant (t=4.972, p 〉 0.05; t=0.999, p 〉 0.05). According to the comparison of the score of limitation of motion, score of angina pectoris attack, score of satisfaction with treatment and the score of disease per- ception in group B before and after treatment, the differences were not statistically significant (t = 1.726, p 〉 0.05; t = 1.594, p 〉 0.05; t = 4.385, p 〉 0.05; t = 0.999, p 〉 0.05). The score of: the stable state of angina pectoris increased by 4.9% (t = 1.780, p 〈 0.05). Conclusion: Needle-embedding in acupoint therapy can effectively improve the clinical efficacy, ECG efficacy and the score of Seattle angina questionnaire (SAQ) of stable angina pectoris.展开更多

Methods press needle (SEIRIN pyonexes) were embedded in EX-UE 2 of patients with postoperative pain of mixed hemorrhoid, once a day and totally 7 treatments. Visual analogue scale (VAS) values were adopted for evaluation. Results Complete remission of clinical pain was observed in 34 cases, accounting for 50.00%; significantly effective in 19 cases, accounting for 27.94%; effective in 13 cases, accounting for 19.12%; and ineffective in 2 cases, accounting for 2.94%; the total effective rate was 97.06%. Conclusion The therapy of treating postoperative pain of mixed hemorrhoid by embedding press needle in EX-UE2 is effectively satisfactory.展开更多
