Excessive amounts of nitrogen(N)fertilizers are applied during wolfberry production,resulting in some soil problems as well as potential environmental risks in the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau.In this study,organic fertilize...Excessive amounts of nitrogen(N)fertilizers are applied during wolfberry production,resulting in some soil problems as well as potential environmental risks in the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau.In this study,organic fertilizers were used to replace part of the N fertilizer in wolfberry fields with different fertility levels.N fertilizer rates had 0,50,100,150,200,and 250 g N/plant.Organic fertilizer rates had 0,2,4,6,8,and 10 kg organic fertilizer/plant.The experimental treatments included 6 combinations of N0M10,N50M8,N100M6,N150M4,N200M2,and control was N250M0.The results showed that in the high-fertility soils,combinations of N150M4,N100M6 and N50M8 treatments were increased in yields,fruit shape index,flavonoid content,total phenol content,mineral nutrient content,and antioxidant activity of wolfberry fruits.Also they were improved in soil fertility and decreased in residual nitrate through the soil depth of 0-300 cm.In the soil with less fertility,fruit yield,amino acid contents,flavonoids,total phenols,mineral nutrients and antioxidant activity of fruits were increased by the N200M2,N150M4 and N100M6 treatments and soil fertility was improved as well.Also more residual nitrate was found in the depth of 0-100 cm of soil with both chemical and organic fertilizer compared with the control.Therefore,in the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau,combining decreased N fertilizer with organic fertilizer rather than chemical fertilizer alone could help farmers achieve satisfactory yields and quality of wolfberry fruits and reduce the risk of nitrate leaching.In conclusion,50-150 g/plant of N fertilizer combined with 4-8 kg/plant of organic fertilizer in high-fertility gardens and 100-200 g/plant of N fertilizer combined with 2-6 kg/plant of organic fertilizer in low-fertility gardens are recommended for wolfberry cultivation.展开更多

The results showed that the combined application of organic and inorganic fertilizers could increase the organinc matter, alkaline nitrogen, available phosphorus and available potassium. At the same time, the increasing application of organic fertilizer could reduce the soil bulk density and improve the field moisture capacity. Field moisture capacity and organic matter of the combined application of high quantities of organic manure and inorganic fertilizers AtB5 treatment increased the fhstest, organic matter increased by 3.33 g. kg and field moisture capacity increased by 11.25% than the beginning of the experiment. Under the same fertilization, the combined application of organic and inorganic fertilizers' increasing production range was higher than the single chemical fertilizers' which was from 0.8% to 9.4%. The results showed that the combined application of organic and inorganic fertilizers could increase the nutrient contents of soil and also was the highest productivity contribution to black soil fertility. It was the best fertilization structure of increasing productivity level and improving the soil fertility.展开更多

What’s worse, disease rate reached 31.2% and the fruits could not be stored for a long term. The heavy metal contents of 54 organic fertilizer samples from Hunan Province were detected;meanwhile,through field plot experiments,the accumulations of heavy metals from chicken excrement-based organic fertilizer in...The heavy metal contents of 54 organic fertilizer samples from Hunan Province were detected;meanwhile,through field plot experiments,the accumulations of heavy metals from chicken excrement-based organic fertilizer in soil and vegetables under different fertilization methods were studied.The experiment results indicated that:(1)The average contents of Pb,Cd,Cr,As,Hg,Cu,Zn and Ni in the sampled fertilizers were 8.18,0.77,17.80,2.80,0.83,70.36,198.84 and 81.48 mg/kg,respectively;Cu and Zn exceeded the most than their standards,followed by As,Hg,Cd and Cr.(2)Among the organic fertilizers produced by different raw materials,industrial sludge contained the highest content of heavy metals,followed by the livestock excrements,oil-seed-meals and crop straw.(3)Only applying chemical fertilizer had a relatively small in fluence on the accumulation of heavy metal in soil while decreasing its pH value;the mixture of chemical fertilizer and chicken manure could increase the pH value in soil while accumulating little heavy metals.It is recommended that the mixture of chemical fertilizer and chicken manure should be a prior choice so as to improve soil property and ensure the safety of agricultural products.Moreover,when applying double amount of chicken manure,the contents of 8 heavy metals in soil were increased,among which Cd,Cu,Zn had obtained obvious accumulation effects,which were higher than applying a single portion of chicken manure fertilizer.(4)After two years of the field plot experiments,the accumulation of heavy metal in vegetables was not obvious under all designed fertilization modes,though increasing slightly.展开更多

Compared with T1,the proportion of high-grade tobacco, the proportion of mid-high grade tobacco,yield, output value and average price increased by 4.4%, 3.8%, 5.48%, 11.51% and5.73% respectively. Treatment 1 showed the highest yield and economic benefit, of 65.514 t/hm^2 and 175.556×10^4 Yuardhm2, respectively, treatment 2 showed the second highest effects, and treatment 3 showed the lowest yield and economic benefit. Four or...A field experiment was conducted at the farm of Yangzhou University, Yangzhou, China, to study the effects of organic fertilizers made from maize straw on rice grain yield and the emission of greenhouse gases. Four organic fertilizer treatments were as follows: maize straw (MS), compost made from maize straw (MC), methane-generating maize residue (MR), and black carbon made from maize straw (BC). These organic fertilizers were applied separately to paddy fields before rice transplanting. No organic fertilizer was applied to the control (CK). The effects of each organic fertilizer on rice grain yield and emission of greenhouse gases were investigated under two conditions, namely, no nitrogen (N) application (ON) and site-specific N management (SSNM). Rice grain yields were significantly higher in the MS, MC and MR treatments than those in CK under either ON or SSNM. The MS treatment resulted in the highest grain yield and agronomic N use efficiency. However, no significant difference was observed for these parameters between the BC treatment and CK. The changes in the emissions of methane (CH4) carbon dioxide (CO2), or nitrous oxide (N20) from the fields were similar among all organic fertilizer treatments during the entire rice growing season. The application of each organic fertilizer significantly increased the emission of each greenhouse gas (except N20 emission in the BC treatment) and global warming potential (GWP). Emissions of all the greenhouse gases and GWP increased under the same organic fertilizer treatment in the presence of N fertilizer, whereas GWP per unit grain yield decreased. The results indicate that the application of organic fertilizer (MS, MC or MR) could increase grain yield, but also could enhance the emissions of greenhouse gases from paddy fields. High grain yield and environmental efficiency could be achieved by applying SSNM with MR.展开更多
Sequel to complaints by cashew farmers on poor establishment rate of cashew seedlings on rehabilitated moribund cashew plantations in south western Nigeria, a fertilizer trial involving the use of organic materials (...Sequel to complaints by cashew farmers on poor establishment rate of cashew seedlings on rehabilitated moribund cashew plantations in south western Nigeria, a fertilizer trial involving the use of organic materials (cow-dung, poultry droppings, cocoa and kola pod husks) compared to NPK and control (no fertilizer) treatments was conducted on the growth performance of cashew seedlings at Ibadan, Nigeria. The fertilizers were applied to supply 15 g N seedlingl in 3 replications. Cashew seedling growth parameters and dry matter yield were determined. Fertilizers resulted to consistently general higher plant height, girth, number of leaves and leaf area compared to NPK and control. The differences in the mean values were however not significantly different for girth but it was significant (P 〈 0.5) for plant height, number of leaves and leaf area, while there was no particular regular trend for plant number of branches. Plant root lengths were significantly higher using the organic fertilizers than NPK and control. Similar trend was obtained in the dry weight values for plant leaf, stem, root and total dry matter yield. There was however no consistent significant effect on NPK usage over control for all the parameters. It was therefore deduced that optimal growth performance and better establishment of cashew seedlings could be obtained with the use of organic fertilizers rather than inorganic fertilizer. The use of cocoa pod husk followed by cow-dung and poultry droppings were outstanding in better growth and dry matter yield performance of cashew seedlings and were advised for this purpose.展开更多

To explore the effect of fertilizers on the yield and quality of Platostoma palustre,in this study,P.palustre was utilized as the research material,and field experiments were conducted with different application rates...To explore the effect of fertilizers on the yield and quality of Platostoma palustre,in this study,P.palustre was utilized as the research material,and field experiments were conducted with different application rates of compound fertilizer and organic fertilizer and non-targeted metabolomics analysis was further employed to compare and analyze the differences in the metabolic components between the compound fertilizer and organic fertilizer treatments.The results of field experiments demonstrated that both compound and organic fertilizers could promote the fresh weight,shade dry weight,and dry weight of P.palustre,with 450 kg hm−2 compound fertilizer and 4500 kg hm−2 organic fertilizer presenting the optimum effects.Non-targeted metabolomics revealed that 1096 metabolites were identified in 450 kg hm−2 compound fertilizer and 4500 kg hm−2 organic fertilizer,and 885 metabolites were annotated in the Human Metabolome Database(HMDB).There were 318 differential metabolites(DMs)found between the two treatments,and 263 metabolites were annotated in HMDB.The abundance of 2 phenolic compounds and 12 organic oxygen compounds in the treatment of 4500 kg hm−2 organic fertilizer was significantly higher than that of the 450 kg hm−2 compound fertilizer,while the abundance of 21 organic oxygen compounds,14 flavonoids,3 phenolic compounds,and 5 cinnamic acids and their derivatives was significantly up-regulated in 450 kg hm−2 compound fertilizer treatment.In addition,5 metabolic pathways were significantly enriched,and the flavone and flavonol biosynthesis was the most significantly differential metabolic pathway.These results suggested that the application of both compound fertilizers and organic fertilizers can increase the yield of P.palustre,but their effects on metabolites were different.This study has considerable implications for the planting and cultivation of P.palustre,furnishing a scientific foundation for an efficient and rational application of fertilizer.展开更多

To study the effect of simultaneous application of organic and biological fertilizers on yield and yield components of zucchini squash, split plot arrangement of factors based on randomized complete block design with three replications were used during 2009-2010 growing season. The mainplot factors were the type of organic fertilizers, including: (1) cow manure; (2) sheep manure; (3) chicken manure; (4) vermicompost; and (5) control. The subplot factors were the biofertilizes (Nitragin, containing Azotobacter sp., Azospirillum sp. and Pseudomonas sp.) utilization. The results showed the positive but non-significant effect of organic and biological fertilizers on yield and yield components of zucchini squash. Amongst the organic fertilizers, cow and chicken manure, have superiority compared to others. The highest seed oil and protein percent was obtained with application of chicken manure, however there was no significant difference between treatments in seed oil percent. The positive effect of organic and biological fertilizers on seed yield was higher than fruit yield. At a glance, application of cow manure solely was better than its application with nitragin. Nitragin application has no significant effect on some traits when utilized with sheep manure and vermicompost.展开更多

However, the kinetics of C and N mineralization from organically amended upland purplish soils has been poorly studied. Therefore, this study investigates C and N mineralization kinetics in organically amended upland purplish soils. Incubation experiments were conducted using soil samples collected from experimental plots that have been under long-term organic amendment fertilization, which includes: Organic manure (OM), crop residues (CR), combined organic manure with inorganic fertilizers (OMNPK), combined crop residue with inorganic fertilizers (CRNPK), conventional inorganic fertilizer (NPK), and no fertilizer (CK). The results showed that organically amended treatments increased C and N mineralization rates by 8 - 24% and 17 - 33%, respectively, compared with NPK. Likewise, the amount of potentially mineralizable carbon (Co) and nitrogen (No) increased by 4 - 9% and 15 - 20%, respectively, compared to the conventional NPK treatment. The rate constants for labile C (kC) and N (kN) were 6 - 29% and 3 - 27% higher than the NPK treatment, respectively. In addition, the initial potential rate of C (Co × kC) and N (No × kN) in organically amended soils were 10 - 37% and 18 - 52% higher compared to NPK. This study tried to show that the mechanisms of N supply was direct application of mineral N fertilizer and mineralization of organic N, while the N retention was reducing soil active N loss and storing more active N in cropland of purplish soil. These results suggest that the long-term application of organic amendments to upland soils may increase nutrient bioavailability.展开更多

However, there are concerns regarding the environmental impact of chemical fertilizer and pesticides production, such as reduction of soil microorganisms and water pollution due to the runoff of fertilizer components from the soil caused by excessive fertilizer application. In this study, we investigated the effects of the application of organic and chemical fertilizers on the plant growth of paddy fields, in addition to their effects on the chemical and biological properties of the soil. The panicle numbers of rough and brown rice, the 1000-grain weight of the rough and brown rice, and the percentages of ripened grains were significantly higher in paddy soils grown with organic fertilizers than in those grown with chemical fertilizers. In addition, the total carbon (TC) contents and pH values were significantly higher in the soils of paddy fields grown with organic fertilizers. Furthermore, the soils of paddy fields grown with organic fertilizers exhibited greater bacterial biomasses, N circulation activity, and P circulation activity than the soils of paddy fields grown using chemical fertilizers, although the differences were not significant. In this study, the difference in plant growth <span>was </span><span>appeared in fertilizer application such as organic and chemical fertilizers. This work was to study composition characteristics and the subsequent effect on the lead(Pb) binding properties of dissolved organic matter(DOM) derived from seaweed-based(SWOF) and chicken manure organic fertilizers(...This work was to study composition characteristics and the subsequent effect on the lead(Pb) binding properties of dissolved organic matter(DOM) derived from seaweed-based(SWOF) and chicken manure organic fertilizers(CMOF) during a one-year field incubation experiment using the excitation-emission matrix-parallel factor(EEM-PARAFAC) and twodimensional correlation spectroscopy(2DCOS) analysis. Results showed that high aromatic and hydrophobic fluorescent substances were enriched in CMOF-derived DOM and SWOFderived DOM and enhanced over time. And phenolic groups in the fulvic-like substances for SWOF-derived DOM and carboxyl groups in the humic-like substances for CMOF-derived DOM had the fastest responses over time, respectively. Moreover, both non-fluorescent polysaccharides and fluorescent humic-like substances or fulvic-like substances with aromatic(C=C) groups first participated in the binding process of Pb to SWOF-derived DOM on day 0 and 180 during the lead binding process. In contrast, humic-like substances associated with aromatic(C=C) and phenolic groups gave a faster response to Pb binding on day 360. Regarding CMOF-derived DOM, the fulvic-like substances associated with aromatic(C=C) and carboxylic groups displayed a faster response to Pb ions on day 0. Nonetheless,polysaccharides and humic-like associated with phenolic groups had a faster response on days 180 and 360. It is noteworthy that the polysaccharides, which participated in Pb binding to CMOF-derived DOM, posed a higher risk of Pb in the environment after 360 days. Therefore, these findings gave new insights into the long-term applications of commercial organic fertilizers for the amendment of soil.展开更多
Colored rice is a type of high-quality,high-added-value rice that has attracted increasing attention in recent years.The use of large amounts of inorganic nitrogen fertilizer in rice fields results in low fertilizer u...Colored rice is a type of high-quality,high-added-value rice that has attracted increasing attention in recent years.The use of large amounts of inorganic nitrogen fertilizer in rice fields results in low fertilizer use efficiency and high environmental pollution.Organic fertilizer is a promising way to improve soil quality and sustain high yields.However,most studies focus on the effect of animal-based organic fertilizers.The effects of different ratios of plantbased organic fertilizer and inorganic fertilizer on the grain yield and quality of colored rice have rarely been reported.Therefore,a two-year field experiment was conducted in 2020 and 2021 to study the effects of replacing inorganic N fertilizers with plant-based organic fertilizers on the yield,nitrogen use efficiency(NUE),and anthocyanin content of two colored rice varieties in a tropical region in China.The experimental treatments included no nitrogen fertilization(T1),100% inorganic nitrogen fertilizer(T2),30%inorganic nitrogen fertilizer substitution with plant-based organic fertilizer(T3),60%inorganic nitrogen fertilizer substitution with plant-based organic fertilizer(T4),and 100% plantbased organic fertilizer(T5).The total nitrogen provided to all the treatments except T1 was the same at 120 kg ha-1.Our results showed that the T3 treatment enhanced the grain yield and anthocyanin content of colored rice by increasing nitrogen use efficiency compared with T2.On average,grain yields were increased by 9 and 8%,while the anthocyanin content increased by 16 and 10% in the two colored rice varieties under T3 across the two years,respectively,as compared with T2.Further study of the residual effect of partial substitution of inorganic fertilizers showed that the substitution of inorganic fertilizer with plant-based organic fertilizer improved the soil physiochemical properties,and thus increased the rice grain yield,in the subsequent seasons.The highest grain yield of the subsequent rice crop was observed under the T5 treatment.Our results suggested that the application of plantbased organic fertilizers can sustain the production of colored rice with high anthocyanin content in tropical regions,which is beneficial in reconciling the relationship between rice production and environmental protection.展开更多

[Objectives]This study aimed to investigate the effects of organic and medium and trace element fertilizers(Ca,Zn,B)on yield and quality of Panax notoginseng to provide theoretical support for rational fertilization i...[Objectives]This study aimed to investigate the effects of organic and medium and trace element fertilizers(Ca,Zn,B)on yield and quality of Panax notoginseng to provide theoretical support for rational fertilization in cultivation of P.notoginseng.[Methods]Five fertilization treatments,control(CK),organic fertilizer(OM),zinc fertilizer(ZF),boron fertilizer(BF)and lime(LF),were designed.A two-consecutive-year field plot trail was conducted.The biological traits,yield and saponin content of P.notoginseng were determined.[Results]The application of organic fertilizer had no significant effect on the biological traits of P.notoginseng.Trace element fertilizers significantly increased the scape length of P.notoginseng.Among the treatments,ZF significantly increased the single flower weight but reduced the inflorescence diameter,while the effects of BF were opposite to those of ZF;LF significantly increased the stem thickness and reduced the plant height.All treatments significantly increased the seedling rate of three-year-old P.notoginseng,and the increase in the LF group(20.49%)was the largest,followed by those in the ZF(16.80%)and OM(16.40%)groups,and the increase in the BF group(13.08%)was the smallest.Although OM,ZF and BF treatments caused the root weight of individual plants to decrease,the final yield of each treatment was higher than that of the control group,and the increases in the BF and LF groups exceeded 17%(P<0.05).The total saponin outputs of all the treatments except OM were significantly higher than that of the control group.[Conclusions]Under the conditions of this test,the supplementation of organic and medium and trace element fertilizers on the basis of conventional fertilization will help to increase the yield of P.notoginseng.However,the reduction of the total saponin output of P.notoginseng caused by organic fertilizer cannot be ignored.展开更多

文摘Excessive amounts of nitrogen(N)fertilizers are applied during wolfberry production,resulting in some soil problems as well as potential environmental risks in the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau.In this study,organic fertilizers were used to replace part of the N fertilizer in wolfberry fields with different fertility levels.N fertilizer rates had 0,50,100,150,200,and 250 g N/plant.Organic fertilizer rates had 0,2,4,6,8,and 10 kg organic fertilizer/plant.The experimental treatments included 6 combinations of N0M10,N50M8,N100M6,N150M4,N200M2,and control was N250M0.The results showed that in the high-fertility soils,combinations of N150M4,N100M6 and N50M8 treatments were increased in yields,fruit shape index,flavonoid content,total phenol content,mineral nutrient content,and antioxidant activity of wolfberry fruits.Also they were improved in soil fertility and decreased in residual nitrate through the soil depth of 0-300 cm.In the soil with less fertility,fruit yield,amino acid contents,flavonoids,total phenols,mineral nutrients and antioxidant activity of fruits were increased by the N200M2,N150M4 and N100M6 treatments and soil fertility was improved as well.Also more residual nitrate was found in the depth of 0-100 cm of soil with both chemical and organic fertilizer compared with the control.Therefore,in the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau,combining decreased N fertilizer with organic fertilizer rather than chemical fertilizer alone could help farmers achieve satisfactory yields and quality of wolfberry fruits and reduce the risk of nitrate leaching.In conclusion,50-150 g/plant of N fertilizer combined with 4-8 kg/plant of organic fertilizer in high-fertility gardens and 100-200 g/plant of N fertilizer combined with 2-6 kg/plant of organic fertilizer in low-fertility gardens are recommended for wolfberry cultivation.

文摘By two years (2007-2008) located fertilizer experiment, the effect of long-term combined application of organic and inorganic fertilizers on black soil fertility and crop yield was investigated in Shuangcheng City, Heilongjiang Province. The results showed that the combined application of organic and inorganic fertilizers could increase the organinc matter, alkaline nitrogen, available phosphorus and available potassium. At the same time, the increasing application of organic fertilizer could reduce the soil bulk density and improve the field moisture capacity. Field moisture capacity and organic matter of the combined application of high quantities of organic manure and inorganic fertilizers AtB5 treatment increased the fhstest, organic matter increased by 3.33 g. kg and field moisture capacity increased by 11.25% than the beginning of the experiment. Under the same fertilization, the combined application of organic and inorganic fertilizers' increasing production range was higher than the single chemical fertilizers' which was from 0.8% to 9.4%. The results showed that the combined application of organic and inorganic fertilizers could increase the nutrient contents of soil and also was the highest productivity contribution to black soil fertility. It was the best fertilization structure of increasing productivity level and improving the soil fertility.

文摘Pot experiments were conducted to study the effects of different organic fertilizers made from distiller's grains on the physiological characteristics and growth of flue-cured tobacco. The results showed that the agronomic traits and biomass of flue-cured tobacco in the three treatments were higher than that of the control group,and the mixed application of different organic fertilizers made from distiller's grains and compound fertilizer could promote the growth and development of flue-cured tobacco significantly.

文摘The research explored the effects of compound management model on soil fertility and peach tree production, involving free-range chicken and returning chicken manure to fields. The results showed that the effects of chicken manure on soil fertility were poorer compared with organic fertilizers, but the former would bet-ter promote peach tree growth and improve yields. On the other hand, the peach fruits applied with chicken manures were smal in size and poor in commercial val-ue. What’s worse, disease rate reached 31.2% and the fruits could not be stored for a long term. Therefore, the compound management model combining agriculture and animal husbandry should intensify epidemic prevention to take place of organic fertilizers.

文摘The heavy metal contents of 54 organic fertilizer samples from Hunan Province were detected;meanwhile,through field plot experiments,the accumulations of heavy metals from chicken excrement-based organic fertilizer in soil and vegetables under different fertilization methods were studied.The experiment results indicated that:(1)The average contents of Pb,Cd,Cr,As,Hg,Cu,Zn and Ni in the sampled fertilizers were 8.18,0.77,17.80,2.80,0.83,70.36,198.84 and 81.48 mg/kg,respectively;Cu and Zn exceeded the most than their standards,followed by As,Hg,Cd and Cr.(2)Among the organic fertilizers produced by different raw materials,industrial sludge contained the highest content of heavy metals,followed by the livestock excrements,oil-seed-meals and crop straw.(3)Only applying chemical fertilizer had a relatively small in fluence on the accumulation of heavy metal in soil while decreasing its pH value;the mixture of chemical fertilizer and chicken manure could increase the pH value in soil while accumulating little heavy metals.It is recommended that the mixture of chemical fertilizer and chicken manure should be a prior choice so as to improve soil property and ensure the safety of agricultural products.Moreover,when applying double amount of chicken manure,the contents of 8 heavy metals in soil were increased,among which Cd,Cu,Zn had obtained obvious accumulation effects,which were higher than applying a single portion of chicken manure fertilizer.(4)After two years of the field plot experiments,the accumulation of heavy metal in vegetables was not obvious under all designed fertilization modes,though increasing slightly.

文摘[Objective] This study was conducted to provide theoretic support for improving yield and quality of flue-cured tobacco by applying microbial organic fertilizers. [Method] A field plot experiment was conducted to study the effects of the Engran series of microbial organic fertilizers on growth and development, diseases and pests and economic traits of flue-cured tobacco. [Result] The result showed that the treatment of conventional fertilization + Engran microbial agent could promote the growth and dry matter accumulation of flue-cured tobacco during the growth period in the field, enhance the disease resistance of tobacco, and improve yield and output value of flue-cured tobacco and income of tobacco growers. Compared with T1,the proportion of high-grade tobacco, the proportion of mid-high grade tobacco,yield, output value and average price increased by 4.4%, 3.8%, 5.48%, 11.51% and5.73% respectively. [Conclusion] The treatment of conventional fertilization + Engran microbial agent showed outstanding performance, is optimum for field production,and could be applied to Flue-cured tobacco.

文摘[Objeclive] This study was conducted to select suitable organic fertilizer for Chinese chives, so as to improve yield and benefit of Chinese chives. [Method] Pot experiments were carried out to investigate effects of 3 organic fertilizers peanut cake fertilizer, chicken manure and mushroom residue on growth and yield of Chi- nese Chives. [Result] The 3 organic fertilizer treatments had better effects on plant height, stem diameter and leaf width than the CK. Treatment 1 showed the best effect on growth and development of Chinese chives, treatment 2 exhibited the sec- ond best effect, and treatment 3 showed the poorest effect. Treatment 1 showed the highest yield and economic benefit, of 65.514 t/hm^2 and 175.556×10^4 Yuardhm2, respectively, treatment 2 showed the second highest effects, and treatment 3 showed the lowest yield and economic benefit. [Conclusion] Selecting peanut cake fertilizer for production of Chinese chives could significantly improve yield and eco- nomic benefit of Chinese chives.
文摘Local knowledge has an important role in agricultural practices.This study aims to describe the local knowledge of farming communities about the use of organic fertilizers as a strategy to increase cashew production in Buton Utara Regency,Southeast Celebes,Indonesia.The research method used is a qualitative approach with data collection techniques using in-depth interviews and observation.The research results showed that the farming community in this area has in-depth local knowledge of how to make and apply effective organic fertilizers sourced from the surrounding natural environment.However,there are challenges in access to the organic materials needed and constraints in the widespread implementation of organic fertilizers.This study recommends strengthening education and training programs to increase farmers’awareness and skills in using organic fertilizers.

文摘A field experiment was conducted at the farm of Yangzhou University, Yangzhou, China, to study the effects of organic fertilizers made from maize straw on rice grain yield and the emission of greenhouse gases. Four organic fertilizer treatments were as follows: maize straw (MS), compost made from maize straw (MC), methane-generating maize residue (MR), and black carbon made from maize straw (BC). These organic fertilizers were applied separately to paddy fields before rice transplanting. No organic fertilizer was applied to the control (CK). The effects of each organic fertilizer on rice grain yield and emission of greenhouse gases were investigated under two conditions, namely, no nitrogen (N) application (ON) and site-specific N management (SSNM). Rice grain yields were significantly higher in the MS, MC and MR treatments than those in CK under either ON or SSNM. The MS treatment resulted in the highest grain yield and agronomic N use efficiency. However, no significant difference was observed for these parameters between the BC treatment and CK. The changes in the emissions of methane (CH4) carbon dioxide (CO2), or nitrous oxide (N20) from the fields were similar among all organic fertilizer treatments during the entire rice growing season. The application of each organic fertilizer significantly increased the emission of each greenhouse gas (except N20 emission in the BC treatment) and global warming potential (GWP). Emissions of all the greenhouse gases and GWP increased under the same organic fertilizer treatment in the presence of N fertilizer, whereas GWP per unit grain yield decreased. The results indicate that the application of organic fertilizer (MS, MC or MR) could increase grain yield, but also could enhance the emissions of greenhouse gases from paddy fields. High grain yield and environmental efficiency could be achieved by applying SSNM with MR.
文摘Sequel to complaints by cashew farmers on poor establishment rate of cashew seedlings on rehabilitated moribund cashew plantations in south western Nigeria, a fertilizer trial involving the use of organic materials (cow-dung, poultry droppings, cocoa and kola pod husks) compared to NPK and control (no fertilizer) treatments was conducted on the growth performance of cashew seedlings at Ibadan, Nigeria. The fertilizers were applied to supply 15 g N seedlingl in 3 replications. Cashew seedling growth parameters and dry matter yield were determined. Fertilizers resulted to consistently general higher plant height, girth, number of leaves and leaf area compared to NPK and control. The differences in the mean values were however not significantly different for girth but it was significant (P 〈 0.5) for plant height, number of leaves and leaf area, while there was no particular regular trend for plant number of branches. Plant root lengths were significantly higher using the organic fertilizers than NPK and control. Similar trend was obtained in the dry weight values for plant leaf, stem, root and total dry matter yield. There was however no consistent significant effect on NPK usage over control for all the parameters. It was therefore deduced that optimal growth performance and better establishment of cashew seedlings could be obtained with the use of organic fertilizers rather than inorganic fertilizer. The use of cocoa pod husk followed by cow-dung and poultry droppings were outstanding in better growth and dry matter yield performance of cashew seedlings and were advised for this purpose.

文摘[Objectives]This study was conducted to explore the effects of using fermented organic fertilizers such as cow manure on the activity of selenium in the soil.[Methods]The project team applied the organic fertilizer prepared by fermenting cow manure and other raw materials to activate selenium in the soil at two dragon fruit orchard bases in Shilong Town,Guiping City and Dingdang Town,Long an County,and carried out many years of experiments.[Results]The contents of available selenium in the two experimental orchards in Shilong Town and Dingdang Town increased by 10%and 5%,respectively,and the selenium contents in dragon fruit increased by 228.6%and 200.0%,respectively.[Conclusions]The application of fermented organic fertilizers such as cow manure can increase available selenium content in the soil,thereby increasing the selenium content of dragon fruit.

文摘To explore the effect of fertilizers on the yield and quality of Platostoma palustre,in this study,P.palustre was utilized as the research material,and field experiments were conducted with different application rates of compound fertilizer and organic fertilizer and non-targeted metabolomics analysis was further employed to compare and analyze the differences in the metabolic components between the compound fertilizer and organic fertilizer treatments.The results of field experiments demonstrated that both compound and organic fertilizers could promote the fresh weight,shade dry weight,and dry weight of P.palustre,with 450 kg hm−2 compound fertilizer and 4500 kg hm−2 organic fertilizer presenting the optimum effects.Non-targeted metabolomics revealed that 1096 metabolites were identified in 450 kg hm−2 compound fertilizer and 4500 kg hm−2 organic fertilizer,and 885 metabolites were annotated in the Human Metabolome Database(HMDB).There were 318 differential metabolites(DMs)found between the two treatments,and 263 metabolites were annotated in HMDB.The abundance of 2 phenolic compounds and 12 organic oxygen compounds in the treatment of 4500 kg hm−2 organic fertilizer was significantly higher than that of the 450 kg hm−2 compound fertilizer,while the abundance of 21 organic oxygen compounds,14 flavonoids,3 phenolic compounds,and 5 cinnamic acids and their derivatives was significantly up-regulated in 450 kg hm−2 compound fertilizer treatment.In addition,5 metabolic pathways were significantly enriched,and the flavone and flavonol biosynthesis was the most significantly differential metabolic pathway.These results suggested that the application of both compound fertilizers and organic fertilizers can increase the yield of P.palustre,but their effects on metabolites were different.This study has considerable implications for the planting and cultivation of P.palustre,furnishing a scientific foundation for an efficient and rational application of fertilizer.
文摘Understanding the relations and interactions between ecosystem components and plants is crucial for sustainable production of medicinal plants. To study the effect of simultaneous application of organic and biological fertilizers on yield and yield components of zucchini squash, split plot arrangement of factors based on randomized complete block design with three replications were used during 2009-2010 growing season. The mainplot factors were the type of organic fertilizers, including: (1) cow manure; (2) sheep manure; (3) chicken manure; (4) vermicompost; and (5) control. The subplot factors were the biofertilizes (Nitragin, containing Azotobacter sp., Azospirillum sp. and Pseudomonas sp.) utilization. The results showed the positive but non-significant effect of organic and biological fertilizers on yield and yield components of zucchini squash. Amongst the organic fertilizers, cow and chicken manure, have superiority compared to others. The highest seed oil and protein percent was obtained with application of chicken manure, however there was no significant difference between treatments in seed oil percent. The positive effect of organic and biological fertilizers on seed yield was higher than fruit yield. At a glance, application of cow manure solely was better than its application with nitragin. Nitragin application has no significant effect on some traits when utilized with sheep manure and vermicompost.
文摘The application of organic amendments in upland soils may influence soil carbon (C) and nitrogen (N) mineralization, which are very important for understanding plant nutrition. However, the kinetics of C and N mineralization from organically amended upland purplish soils has been poorly studied. Therefore, this study investigates C and N mineralization kinetics in organically amended upland purplish soils. Incubation experiments were conducted using soil samples collected from experimental plots that have been under long-term organic amendment fertilization, which includes: Organic manure (OM), crop residues (CR), combined organic manure with inorganic fertilizers (OMNPK), combined crop residue with inorganic fertilizers (CRNPK), conventional inorganic fertilizer (NPK), and no fertilizer (CK). The results showed that organically amended treatments increased C and N mineralization rates by 8 - 24% and 17 - 33%, respectively, compared with NPK. Likewise, the amount of potentially mineralizable carbon (Co) and nitrogen (No) increased by 4 - 9% and 15 - 20%, respectively, compared to the conventional NPK treatment. The rate constants for labile C (kC) and N (kN) were 6 - 29% and 3 - 27% higher than the NPK treatment, respectively. In addition, the initial potential rate of C (Co × kC) and N (No × kN) in organically amended soils were 10 - 37% and 18 - 52% higher compared to NPK. This study tried to show that the mechanisms of N supply was direct application of mineral N fertilizer and mineralization of organic N, while the N retention was reducing soil active N loss and storing more active N in cropland of purplish soil. These results suggest that the long-term application of organic amendments to upland soils may increase nutrient bioavailability.
文摘Currently, the majority of paddy fields in Japan are grown using chemical fertilizers and synthetic chemical pesticides, since chemical fertilizers can provide the nutrients necessary for plant growth. However, there are concerns regarding the environmental impact of chemical fertilizer and pesticides production, such as reduction of soil microorganisms and water pollution due to the runoff of fertilizer components from the soil caused by excessive fertilizer application. In this study, we investigated the effects of the application of organic and chemical fertilizers on the plant growth of paddy fields, in addition to their effects on the chemical and biological properties of the soil. The panicle numbers of rough and brown rice, the 1000-grain weight of the rough and brown rice, and the percentages of ripened grains were significantly higher in paddy soils grown with organic fertilizers than in those grown with chemical fertilizers. In addition, the total carbon (TC) contents and pH values were significantly higher in the soils of paddy fields grown with organic fertilizers. Furthermore, the soils of paddy fields grown with organic fertilizers exhibited greater bacterial biomasses, N circulation activity, and P circulation activity than the soils of paddy fields grown using chemical fertilizers, although the differences were not significant. In this study, the difference in plant growth <span>was </span><span>appeared in fertilizer application such as organic and chemical fertilizers. It was indicated that the organic fertilizer and pesticide reduction management increased the soil bacterial biomass and activated the material cycle such as N circulation activity.</span>

文摘This work was to study composition characteristics and the subsequent effect on the lead(Pb) binding properties of dissolved organic matter(DOM) derived from seaweed-based(SWOF) and chicken manure organic fertilizers(CMOF) during a one-year field incubation experiment using the excitation-emission matrix-parallel factor(EEM-PARAFAC) and twodimensional correlation spectroscopy(2DCOS) analysis. Results showed that high aromatic and hydrophobic fluorescent substances were enriched in CMOF-derived DOM and SWOFderived DOM and enhanced over time. And phenolic groups in the fulvic-like substances for SWOF-derived DOM and carboxyl groups in the humic-like substances for CMOF-derived DOM had the fastest responses over time, respectively. Moreover, both non-fluorescent polysaccharides and fluorescent humic-like substances or fulvic-like substances with aromatic(C=C) groups first participated in the binding process of Pb to SWOF-derived DOM on day 0 and 180 during the lead binding process. In contrast, humic-like substances associated with aromatic(C=C) and phenolic groups gave a faster response to Pb binding on day 360. Regarding CMOF-derived DOM, the fulvic-like substances associated with aromatic(C=C) and carboxylic groups displayed a faster response to Pb ions on day 0. Nonetheless,polysaccharides and humic-like associated with phenolic groups had a faster response on days 180 and 360. It is noteworthy that the polysaccharides, which participated in Pb binding to CMOF-derived DOM, posed a higher risk of Pb in the environment after 360 days. Therefore, these findings gave new insights into the long-term applications of commercial organic fertilizers for the amendment of soil.

文摘Colored rice is a type of high-quality,high-added-value rice that has attracted increasing attention in recent years.The use of large amounts of inorganic nitrogen fertilizer in rice fields results in low fertilizer use efficiency and high environmental pollution.Organic fertilizer is a promising way to improve soil quality and sustain high yields.However,most studies focus on the effect of animal-based organic fertilizers.The effects of different ratios of plantbased organic fertilizer and inorganic fertilizer on the grain yield and quality of colored rice have rarely been reported.Therefore,a two-year field experiment was conducted in 2020 and 2021 to study the effects of replacing inorganic N fertilizers with plant-based organic fertilizers on the yield,nitrogen use efficiency(NUE),and anthocyanin content of two colored rice varieties in a tropical region in China.The experimental treatments included no nitrogen fertilization(T1),100% inorganic nitrogen fertilizer(T2),30%inorganic nitrogen fertilizer substitution with plant-based organic fertilizer(T3),60%inorganic nitrogen fertilizer substitution with plant-based organic fertilizer(T4),and 100% plantbased organic fertilizer(T5).The total nitrogen provided to all the treatments except T1 was the same at 120 kg ha-1.Our results showed that the T3 treatment enhanced the grain yield and anthocyanin content of colored rice by increasing nitrogen use efficiency compared with T2.On average,grain yields were increased by 9 and 8%,while the anthocyanin content increased by 16 and 10% in the two colored rice varieties under T3 across the two years,respectively,as compared with T2.Further study of the residual effect of partial substitution of inorganic fertilizers showed that the substitution of inorganic fertilizer with plant-based organic fertilizer improved the soil physiochemical properties,and thus increased the rice grain yield,in the subsequent seasons.The highest grain yield of the subsequent rice crop was observed under the T5 treatment.Our results suggested that the application of plantbased organic fertilizers can sustain the production of colored rice with high anthocyanin content in tropical regions,which is beneficial in reconciling the relationship between rice production and environmental protection.

文摘Excessive application of mineral fertilizers and synthetic pesticides poses a substantial threat to the soil and water environment and food security.Organic fertilizer and biopesticides have gradually become essential technology for reducing mineral fertilizer and pesticide inputs.In the process,the technical environment is critical for promoting farmer behavior related to the adoption of organic fertilizer and biopesticides.This paper analyzes the influence of the technical environment on farmer behavior related to the adoption of organic fertilizer and biopesticides based on a survey of 1282 farmers in Heilongjiang Province,China,using the bivariate probit model.The results indicate that(1)farmer behavior related to the adoption applying organic fertilizer and biopesticides were positively correlated;(2)the technical environment had a significant positive impact on farmer behavior related to the adoption of organic fertilizer and biopesticides;and(3)the technical environment had a heterogeneous effect across different groups of farmers.This research provides insights useful for promoting organic fertilizer and biopesticides to farmers.It can be helpful to bundle relevant environmental technologies,conduct technology training for farmers and strengthen the construction of rural information networks.

文摘[Objectives]This study aimed to investigate the effects of organic and medium and trace element fertilizers(Ca,Zn,B)on yield and quality of Panax notoginseng to provide theoretical support for rational fertilization in cultivation of P.notoginseng.[Methods]Five fertilization treatments,control(CK),organic fertilizer(OM),zinc fertilizer(ZF),boron fertilizer(BF)and lime(LF),were designed.A two-consecutive-year field plot trail was conducted.The biological traits,yield and saponin content of P.notoginseng were determined.[Results]The application of organic fertilizer had no significant effect on the biological traits of P.notoginseng.Trace element fertilizers significantly increased the scape length of P.notoginseng.Among the treatments,ZF significantly increased the single flower weight but reduced the inflorescence diameter,while the effects of BF were opposite to those of ZF;LF significantly increased the stem thickness and reduced the plant height.All treatments significantly increased the seedling rate of three-year-old P.notoginseng,and the increase in the LF group(20.49%)was the largest,followed by those in the ZF(16.80%)and OM(16.40%)groups,and the increase in the BF group(13.08%)was the smallest.Although OM,ZF and BF treatments caused the root weight of individual plants to decrease,the final yield of each treatment was higher than that of the control group,and the increases in the BF and LF groups exceeded 17%(P<0.05).The total saponin outputs of all the treatments except OM were significantly higher than that of the control group.[Conclusions]Under the conditions of this test,the supplementation of organic and medium and trace element fertilizers on the basis of conventional fertilization will help to increase the yield of P.notoginseng.However,the reduction of the total saponin output of P.notoginseng caused by organic fertilizer cannot be ignored.
