This paper studied the effects of different retarders on the performance of the"one-step"alkali-activated composite cementitious material(ACCM)which is composed of ground granulated blast slag(GGBS)and fly a...This paper studied the effects of different retarders on the performance of the"one-step"alkali-activated composite cementitious material(ACCM)which is composed of ground granulated blast slag(GGBS)and fly ash(FA),and analyzed its mechanical properties,hydration mechanism,and retardation mechanism.The effects of retarders on the hydration products,mechanical properties,and hydration kinetics of ACCM were investigated using XRD,SEM,FTIR,EDS,and thermoactive microcalorimetry.The results showed that Na_(2)B_(4)O_(7)·10H_(2)O(B)delayed the exotherm during the alkali activation process and could effectively delay the setting time of ACCM,but the mechanical properties were slightly decreased.The setting time of ACCM increased with the increase in SG content,but the mechanical properties of ACCM decreased with the increase in SG content.C1_(2)H_(22)O_(11)(CHO)could effectively delay the hydration reaction of ACCM and weakly enhanced the compressive strength.H_(3)PO_(4)(HP)at a concentration of 0.05 mol/L had a certain effect on ACCM retardation,but HP at a concentration of 0.07 and 0.09 mol/L had an effect of promoting the setting and hardening time of ACCM.展开更多
The retarding effect of protein retarder on phosphorus building gypsum(PBG)and desulfurization building gypsum(DBG)was investigated,and the results show that protein retarder for DBG can effectively prolong the settin...The retarding effect of protein retarder on phosphorus building gypsum(PBG)and desulfurization building gypsum(DBG)was investigated,and the results show that protein retarder for DBG can effectively prolong the setting time and displays a better retarding effect,but for PBG shows a poor retarding effect.Furthermore,the deterioration reason of the retarding effect of protein retarder on PBG was investigated by measuring the pH value and the retarder concentration of the liquid phase from vacuum filtration of PBG slurry at different hydration time,and the measure to improve the retarding effect of protein retarding on PBG was suggested.The pH value of PBG slurry(<5.0)is lower than that of DBG slurry(7.8-8.5).After hydration for 5 min,the concentration of retarder in liquid phase of DBG slurry gradually decreases,but in liquid phase of PBG slurry continually increases,which results in the worse retarding effect of protein retarder on PBG.The liquid phase pH value of PBG slurry can be adjusted higher by sodium silicate,which is beneficial to improvement in the retarding effect of the retarder.By adding 1.0%of sodium silicate,the initial setting time of PBG was efficiently prolonged from 17 to 210 min,but little effect on the absolute dry flexural strength was observed.展开更多

The Advanced Space-based Solar Observatory(ASO-S)is a mission proposed by the Chinese Solar Physics Community.As one of the three payloads of ASO-S,the Full-disc Magneto-Graph(FMG)will measure the photospheric magneti...The Advanced Space-based Solar Observatory(ASO-S)is a mission proposed by the Chinese Solar Physics Community.As one of the three payloads of ASO-S,the Full-disc Magneto-Graph(FMG)will measure the photospheric magnetic fields of the entire solar disk with high spatial and temporal resolution,and high magnetic sensitivity,where liquid crystal variable retarder(LCVR)is the key to whether FMG can achieve its scientific goal.So far,there is no space flight experience for LCVR.Therefore,irradiation study for LCVRs becomes more important and urgent in order to make sure their safety and reliability in space application.In this paper,γirradiation,proton irradiation,and ultra-violet(UV)irradiation are tested for LCVRs respectively.The optical and chemical properties during irradiation tests are measured and analyzed.For optical properties,there is no significant change in those parameters FMG payload concerned except the retardation.Although there is no drastic degradation in the retardation versus voltage during irradiations,the amount of retardation variation is much higher than the instrument requirements.Thus,an in-flight retardation versus voltage should be added in FMG payload,reducing or even avoiding the impact of retardation change.For chemical properties,the clearing point and birefringence of the LC materials almost have no change;the ion density dose not change below 60 krad[Si],but begin to increase dramatically above 60 krad[Si].展开更多

The main chemical composition and mineral structure of the waste fluorgypsum were analyzed. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and eight-channel micro-calorimeter (TAM Air) were employed to analyze the changes in morphology and study the application performance of the modified fluorgypsum, respectively. Experimental results indicate that the flexural strength and compressive strength of the modified fiuorgypsurn are roughly equal to those of the natural gypsum. The morphology of the crystal of the fiuorgypsum changes from block particle into trimetric short column. The fluorgypsum crystals stagger mutually and improve the strength of the hardened body. The modified fluorgypsum as cement retarder could delay the hydration, reduce the heat of the hydration and make the setting time, volume stability, and the S03 content of the cement meet the national standards. The modified fluorgypsum is a good substitute for the natural gypsum.展开更多

Different ellipsometric configurations are presented by assuming N = 1, 2, and 3. Moreover, two values of the offset angle of the retarder are considered for each ellipsometric configuration. The Mueller formalism is employed to extract the Stokes parameters, from which the intensity received by the detector is obtained. The optical properties of c-Si are calculated using all configurations. A comparison between different configurations is carried out considering the effect of the noise on the results and the uncertainties in the ellipsometric parameters as functions of the uncertainties of the Fourier coefficients. It is found that the alignment of the phase retarder has a crucial impact on the results and the ellipsometric configuration with speed ratio 1:1 is preferred over the other configurations.展开更多

In order to analyze permanent magnet (PM) demagnetization in high-temperature in PMR, PMR mathematical model is established firstly, and the boundary conditions of finite element analysis are determined. Then the eddy current field distribution in the rotor is determined by solving eddy current demagnetization field, and PM dynamic permeance coefficient is obtained. Combined with PM demagnetization curve analysis, PMR permanent magnet demagnetization properties are analyzed. The analysis result is validated by the bench test. It shows that part of PM is demagnetized when PRM continues working for about 15 minutes, and the braking performance is declined. Finally, three PMR optimization design methods are proposed.展开更多

Using ...A method of designing broad angular phase retarders in the extreme ultraviolet (EUV) region is presented. The design is based on a standard Levenberg-Marquardt algorithm combined with a common merit function. Using this method, a series of broad angular EUV phase retarders were designed using aperiodic Mo/Si multilayers. At photon energy of 90 eV, broad angular phase retarders with 30°, 60°, and 90° phase retardations have been realized in the angular range of 39°-51°. By analyzing and comparing the performances of the designed broad angular phase retarders, we found that the Mo/Si multilayer with more layers could obtain higher phase retardation in broader angular range when used to design the broad angular phase retarder. Broad angular phase retarders possess lower sensitivity toward changing incident angle compared with the traditional phase retarders designed with transmission periodic multilayers, and can be used for the polarization control of broad angular EUV sources.展开更多

Cavitation has a significant influence on the accurate control of the liquid filling rate and braking performance of a hydraulic retarder;however,previous studies of the flow field in hydraulic retarders have provided...Cavitation has a significant influence on the accurate control of the liquid filling rate and braking performance of a hydraulic retarder;however,previous studies of the flow field in hydraulic retarders have provided insufficient information in terms of considering cavitation.Here,the volume of fluid(VOF)method and a scale-resolving simulation(SRS)were employed to numerically and more comprehensively calculate and analyze the flow field in a retarder considering the cavitation phenomenon.The numerical models included the improved delayed detached eddy simulation(IDDES)model,stress-blended eddy simulation(SBES)model,dynamic large eddy simulation(DLES)model,and shear stress transport(SST)model in the Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes(RANS)model.All the calculations were typically validated by the brake torque in the impeller rather than the internal flow.The unsteady flow field indicated that the SBES and DLES models could better capture unsteady flow phenomena,such as the chord vortex.The SBES and DLES models could also better capture bubbles than the SST and IDDES models.Since the braking torque error of the SBES model was the smallest,the transient variation of the bubble volume fraction over time on a typical flow surface was analyzed in detail with the SBES model.It was found that bubbles mainly appeared in the center area of the blade suction surface,which coincided with the experiments.The accumulation of bubbles resulted in a larger bubble volume fraction in the center of the blade over time.In addition,the temperature variations of the pressure blade caused by heat transfer were further analyzed.More bubbles precipitated in the center of the blade,leading to a lower temperature in this area.展开更多

This paper analyzes the flow distribution based on a mathematical model and analyzes the key factors that could affect the filling ratio and the braking torque of the WM retarder. Computational fluid dynamics(CFD) simulations are conducted to compute the braking torque, and theresults are verified by experiments. It is shown that the filling ratio and the braking torque can be expressed by the mathematical model proposed in this paper. Compared with the Reynolds averaged Navier-Stokes(RANS) turbulent model, the shear stress transport(SST) turbulent model can more accurately simulate the braking torque. Finally, the flow distribution and the flow character in the WM retarders are analyzed.展开更多

Two-dimensional and three-dimensional finite element models for retarder have also been developed. Results from the analytical model are compared with those from finite element models. The validity of these three models is checked by the comparison of the theoretical predictions and the measurements from an experimental prototype. The water medium hydraulic retarder is the latest type of auxiliary braking device and has the characteristics of high power density,large braking torque,and compact structure.During traveling,this device can convert ...The water medium hydraulic retarder is the latest type of auxiliary braking device and has the characteristics of high power density,large braking torque,and compact structure.During traveling,this device can convert the kinetic energy of a vehicle to the heat energy of the cooling liquid and replace the service brake under non-emergency braking conditions.With regard to the constant-speed function of the water medium hydraulic retarder,this study designs a controller based on the neural network proportional-integral-derivative(PID)algorithm to achieve the steady traveling of the vehicle at constant velocity during a downhill course by controlling the filling ratio of the water medium hydraulic retarder.To validate the algorithm’s effectiveness,the dynamic model of the heavy-duty vehicle in the downhill process and the physical model of the water medium hydraulic retarder are developed.Three operating conditions,including a fixed slope,step-changing slope,and continuous changing slope,are set,and a simulation test is carried out in the MATLAB/Simulink environment.The neural network PID algorithm has better adaptability in controlling than the traditional PID algorithm.Thus,it controls the water medium hydraulic retarder such that the braking requirements of heavy-duty vehicles under a changing slope working condi-tion are satisfied,and it performs constant-speed control when the vehicle travels downhill.Therefore,the proposed control method can significantly improve the safety of road traffic.展开更多

文摘As a auxiliary brake, Permanent Magnet Retarder (PMR) generates lots of energy and has greater temperature-rise when PMR works, so that it has a direct impact on PMR work performance and even causes demagnetization seriously. In order to analyze permanent magnet (PM) demagnetization in high-temperature in PMR, PMR mathematical model is established firstly, and the boundary conditions of finite element analysis are determined. Then the eddy current field distribution in the rotor is determined by solving eddy current demagnetization field, and PM dynamic permeance coefficient is obtained. Combined with PM demagnetization curve analysis, PMR permanent magnet demagnetization properties are analyzed. The analysis result is validated by the bench test. It shows that part of PM is demagnetized when PRM continues working for about 15 minutes, and the braking performance is declined. Finally, three PMR optimization design methods are proposed.

文摘A new achromatic phase retarder based on a metal-multilayer dielectric grating structure is designed using the rigorous coupled wave analysis method and the genetic algorithm.The optimized phase retarder can maintain phase retardation around 90°from 900 nm to 1200 nm,and the maximum deviation is less than 4.5%while the diffraction efficiencies of TE and TM waves are both higher than 95%.Numerical analysis shows the designed phase retarder has a high fabrication tolerance of groove depth,duty cycle and incident angle.This achromatic phase retarder is simple in design and stable in performance,and can be widely used in optical systems.

文摘In order to improve the convective heat transfer relating to an eddy current retarder,the finite element model has been used to assess the performances of different possible designs.In particular,assuming the steady running state of retarder as the working condition,flow and temperature fields have been obtained for the rotor.The influence of airflow path on heat dissipation has been analysed,and the influence of the temperature field distribution on the performance of retarder has been discussed accordingly.The results show that when the steady running state of the turntable is considered,the maximum temperature is lower,the level of turbulence flow is mitigated,and the temperature distribution becomes more regular.These factors contribute to improve the heat dissipation ability of the retarder.

文摘A method of designing broad angular phase retarders in the extreme ultraviolet (EUV) region is presented. The design is based on a standard Levenberg-Marquardt algorithm combined with a common merit function. Using this method, a series of broad angular EUV phase retarders were designed using aperiodic Mo/Si multilayers. At photon energy of 90 eV, broad angular phase retarders with 30°, 60°, and 90° phase retardations have been realized in the angular range of 39°-51°. By analyzing and comparing the performances of the designed broad angular phase retarders, we found that the Mo/Si multilayer with more layers could obtain higher phase retardation in broader angular range when used to design the broad angular phase retarder. Broad angular phase retarders possess lower sensitivity toward changing incident angle compared with the traditional phase retarders designed with transmission periodic multilayers, and can be used for the polarization control of broad angular EUV sources.

文摘We report a spatially modulated polarimetry scheme by using a zero-order vortex half-wave retarder(ZVHR)and a spatial Fourier analysis method.A ZVHR is employed to analyze the input polarized light and convert it into a vectorial optical field,and an analyzer is set after the ZVHR to form an hourglass intensity pattern due to the spatial polarization modulation.Then,the input light’s Stokes parameters can be calculated by spatial Fourier analysis of the hourglass pattern with a single shot.The working principle of the polarimeter has been analyzed by the Stokes-Mueller formalism,and some quantitative measuring experiments of different polarization states have been demonstrated.The experimental results indicate that the proposed polarimeter is accurate,robust,and simple to use.

文摘Cavitation has a significant influence on the accurate control of the liquid filling rate and braking performance of a hydraulic retarder;however,previous studies of the flow field in hydraulic retarders have provided insufficient information in terms of considering cavitation.Here,the volume of fluid(VOF)method and a scale-resolving simulation(SRS)were employed to numerically and more comprehensively calculate and analyze the flow field in a retarder considering the cavitation phenomenon.The numerical models included the improved delayed detached eddy simulation(IDDES)model,stress-blended eddy simulation(SBES)model,dynamic large eddy simulation(DLES)model,and shear stress transport(SST)model in the Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes(RANS)model.All the calculations were typically validated by the brake torque in the impeller rather than the internal flow.The unsteady flow field indicated that the SBES and DLES models could better capture unsteady flow phenomena,such as the chord vortex.The SBES and DLES models could also better capture bubbles than the SST and IDDES models.Since the braking torque error of the SBES model was the smallest,the transient variation of the bubble volume fraction over time on a typical flow surface was analyzed in detail with the SBES model.It was found that bubbles mainly appeared in the center area of the blade suction surface,which coincided with the experiments.The accumulation of bubbles resulted in a larger bubble volume fraction in the center of the blade over time.In addition,the temperature variations of the pressure blade caused by heat transfer were further analyzed.More bubbles precipitated in the center of the blade,leading to a lower temperature in this area.

文摘The water medium(WM) retarder is an auxiliary braking device that could convert the kinetic energy of the vehicle to the thermal energy of the coolant, and it is used instead of the service brake under non-emergency braking conditions. This paper analyzes the flow distribution based on a mathematical model and analyzes the key factors that could affect the filling ratio and the braking torque of the WM retarder. Computational fluid dynamics(CFD) simulations are conducted to compute the braking torque, and theresults are verified by experiments. It is shown that the filling ratio and the braking torque can be expressed by the mathematical model proposed in this paper. Compared with the Reynolds averaged Navier-Stokes(RANS) turbulent model, the shear stress transport(SST) turbulent model can more accurately simulate the braking torque. Finally, the flow distribution and the flow character in the WM retarders are analyzed.

文摘An analytical model has been developed for analyzing the braking torque in electromagnetic retarder by flux tube and armature reaction method. The magnetic field distribution in air gap, the eddy current induced in the rotor and the braking torque are calculated by the developed model. Two-dimensional and three-dimensional finite element models for retarder have also been developed. Results from the analytical model are compared with those from finite element models. The validity of these three models is checked by the comparison of the theoretical predictions and the measurements from an experimental prototype. The influencing factors of braking torque have been studied.

文摘The water medium hydraulic retarder is the latest type of auxiliary braking device and has the characteristics of high power density,large braking torque,and compact structure.During traveling,this device can convert the kinetic energy of a vehicle to the heat energy of the cooling liquid and replace the service brake under non-emergency braking conditions.With regard to the constant-speed function of the water medium hydraulic retarder,this study designs a controller based on the neural network proportional-integral-derivative(PID)algorithm to achieve the steady traveling of the vehicle at constant velocity during a downhill course by controlling the filling ratio of the water medium hydraulic retarder.To validate the algorithm’s effectiveness,the dynamic model of the heavy-duty vehicle in the downhill process and the physical model of the water medium hydraulic retarder are developed.Three operating conditions,including a fixed slope,step-changing slope,and continuous changing slope,are set,and a simulation test is carried out in the MATLAB/Simulink environment.The neural network PID algorithm has better adaptability in controlling than the traditional PID algorithm.Thus,it controls the water medium hydraulic retarder such that the braking requirements of heavy-duty vehicles under a changing slope working condi-tion are satisfied,and it performs constant-speed control when the vehicle travels downhill.Therefore,the proposed control method can significantly improve the safety of road traffic.
