Understanding itsdynamical model and analyzing dynamic characteristics, such as critical speed and unbalanced response, arecrucial for rotor system dynamics. Previous work introduced a coaxial dual-rotor-support scheme for aeroengines, and a physical model featuring a high-speed flexible inner rotor with a substantial length-to-diameter ratiowas designed. Then a finite element (FE) dynamic model based on the Timoshenko beam elements and rigid bodykinematics of the dual-rotor system is modeled, with the Newmark method and Newton–Raphson method used forthe numerical calculation to study the dynamic characteristics of the system. Three different simulation models, including beam-based FE (1D) model, solid-based FE (3D) model, and transfer matrix model, were designed tostudy the characteristics of mode and the critical speed characteristic of the dual-rotor system. The unbalancedresponse of the dual-rotor system was analyzed to study the influence of mass unbalance on the rotor system. Theeffect of different disk unbalance phases and different speed ratios on the dynamic characteristics of the dual-rotorsystem was investigated in detail. The experimental result shows that the beam-based FE model is effective andsuitable for studying the dual-rotor system.展开更多

Numerical experiments show that nonsynchronous responseswill happen due to the rotor crack, and the amplitudes of the nonsynchronous componentsbecome larger with the increase of crack. On the other hand, the fluid forces of journalbearings can suppress the nonsynchronous response. The (1/2) × or (3/2) × harmoniccomponent rarely appears for small crack near the rotating speed ratio Ω = 2Ωc or Ω =(2/3)Ωc. In the case of supercritical rotating speed, the additional 0× harmonic component is increased as the crack increases. The bearing parameters affect greatly the occur-rence of the nonsynchronous responses by means of exerting innuence on the critical spedand the stabi1ity of the system.展开更多

Linear analysis is done by linearizing the bearing oil film dynamic forces and expressing them with stiffness and damping constants. Nonlinear dynamic simulation is done by taking the nonlinearity of bearing oil film dynamic force into full consideration, with the latter being expressed by a special database which is generated beforehand, and based on non stationary Reynolds equation and Reynolds boundary condition of film rupture. The linear and nonlinear unbalance responses of a Jeffcot rotor supported on a pair of elliptical bearings is studied. The resulting dynamic characteristics and rotor and journal whirling orbits are compared. While good consistancy between nonlinear and linear predictions is found under very small unbalance, significant or even drastic differences are found whenever the unbalance is not small, indicating the necessity of including the nonlinearity of oil film dynamic forces, especially when response to large unbalance is to be predicted.展开更多

It is assumed that a shaft is regarded as a continuous viscoelastic shaft with unbalanced and small deformation properties. The equations of motion for the torsional and lateral vibrations are derived using Lagrange's approach with the frequency-dependent shape function. The rotor torsional vibration is coupled with the lateral vibrations by unbalance elements in a way of excitations. Simulation and experiment results show clearly that the torsional vibration has strong impact on the rotor lateral vibrations, and it causes subharmonic and superharmonic excitations through unbalance elements, which leads to the superharmonic resonances in the lateral vibrations. This model with low-order and high accuracy is suitable for rotor dynamic analysis in real time simulation as well as for active vibration control syntheses.展开更多

Aiming at a bearings system described with nonlinear equations, this paper built a linear model according to the system behavior. Considering realization of the control system and behavior of a high rate rotor system (magnetic force is far smaller than input force produced by mass eccentricity) this paper proposes a design method of variable parameters PD control algorithm that can be used universally. The control system was simplified and a mass of adjusting work of control parameters was reduced. In previous works, the authors have shown that it may be beneficial to adapt the bearing behavior to the shaft behavior. Several adaptive and active components will be developed in this paper in order to control the shaft dynamical amplitude. Different models of hydrodynamic bearings behavior are described. The Reynolds equation resolution may be done by numerical or analytical solutions. A physical analysis of the equation of thin films will identify the most sensitive parameters. The shaft flexibility is taking into account by a modal approach. The fluid-structure coupling process is a simulation, step by step, of the rotor behavior. At each step, the nonlinear fluid force is numerically calculated to obtain the unbalanced shaft response. The results, presented in this paper, concern the dynamic response of unbalanced shaft mounted in adaptive or active bearings: bearings with variable clearance, variable viscosity or variable housing speed. It is shown that the fluid bearing parameters must be adapted to the rotor speed (in particular near or far a critical speed). Then, the paper presents a new kind of active bearing. It works with a mechanical control of the housing position. Several parameters are tested and compared. The robustness of the dynamic control parameters is presented. In conclusion, the bearing adaptation could be very useful to control the shaft dynamic. This limits the effect of the critical speed, in particular by diminishing the shaft amplitude and the dynamic forces transmitted to the housing.展开更多

Through simulations of the locus of the shaft center aided by the database technique, nonlinear stability analysis can be performed and the natural frequency can be obtained as well. The easiness of 'assembling' the individual bush forces from the database to form the bearing force, makes it very convenient to evaluate the stability of various types of journal bearings. Examples are demonstrated to show how the database technique makes it possible to get technically abundant simulation results at the expense of very short calculation time.展开更多

A fully parameterized rotor flapping equation for identification purpose is derived without using any theoretical model, so the confidence of the identified model is increased, and then the 6 degrees of freedom rigid body model is extended to 9 degrees of freedom high-order model. Bode sensitivity function is derived to increase the accuracy of frequency spectra calculation which influences the accuracy of model parameter identification. Then a frequency domain identification algorithm is established. Acceleration technique is developed furthermore to increase calculation efficiency, and the total identification time is reduced by more than 50% using this technique. A comprehensive two-step method is established for helicopter high-order flight dynamics model identification which increases the numerical stability of model identification compared with single step algorithm. Application of the developed method to identify the flight dynamics model of BO 105 helicopter based on flight test data is implemented. A comparative study between the high-order model and rigid body model is performed at last. The results show that the developed method can be used for helicopter high-order flight dynamics model identification with high accuracy as well as efficiency, and the advantage of identified high-order model is very obvious compared with low-order model.展开更多

Based on vibration diagnosis and treatment for more than 10 units, some typical vibration faults were summarized, such as the vibration fluctuation of the high pressure (HP) rotor, abnormal vibration increases of the No.3 bearing pedestal and large vibration of the exciter rotor during its critical speed range. The vibration characteristics and the causes of faults and countermeasures were analyzed. Three applications for further illustration were given. 文摘The technique of non stationary oil film force database for hydrodynamic bearing is introduced and its potential applications in nonlinear rotor dynamics are demonstrated. Examples are demonstrated to show how the database technique makes it possible to get technically abundant simulation results at the expense of very short calculation time.

文摘A comprehensive method based on system identification theory for helicopter flight dynamics modeling with rotor degrees of freedom is developed. The results show that the developed method can be used for helicopter high-order flight dynamics model identification with high accuracy as well as efficiency, and the advantage of identified high-order model is very obvious compared with low-order model.
文摘The layout features of unit shafting and their effects on vibration, as well as evaluation criteria, were introduced for a 1000-MW ultra-supercritical turbine-generator unit with Simens technology. The vibration fault identification method, control measures, and applications can provide a reference for vibration diagnoses and treatment of same type units.
