The...Recent bathymetric changes in the Changjiang Estuary under the influence of artificial regulation engineerings and basin reservoirs have been analyzed based on the maritime charts since 1997 and recent fieldworks. The results indicate a slight erosion of the channels in the upper and middle estuary, continuing deposition and seaward move of the mouth bar crest and intensifying erosion at the nearshore seabed. It is noteworthy that the morphological evolution caused by intensive human activities dominates over the changes from nature process. First, the riverbes are eroded overall in the South Branch (SB), the South Channel (SC) and the upper and middle reaches of the North Channel (NC). The nearshore seabed outside the river mouth is being eroded slightly, which is attributed to the declining sediment supply from the Changjiang Basin due to the construction of the Three Gorges Dam upstream. The sediment above the seabed is very active and coarsened, meanwhile, sand waves are becoming more distinct. Second, a deposition occurs in the North Brach (NB), the mouth of the NC, the mouth bars of the North Passage (NP) and the South Passage (SP) and especially the main channel of the NP, where it shows a massive siltation after the deep waterway project. The reasons for the recent changes are not only the dynamic structure in estuarine mouth bars, but also the supply of sediment resuspension in a local and offshore area. Meanwhile, the severe erosion and siltation in some reaches is related to the construction of estuarine engineerings. It is indicated that the Changjiang Estuary is gradually self-adjusted and adapting to the varying natural factors and intensive human activities. The study on the mechanism of self-regulation of the recent bathymetric changes in the Changjiang Estuary has important and practical significance.展开更多

The effect of hypertension in the elderly is higher than other age groups and it may lead to changes in their quality of life. By the increase of age, the amount of self-care behaviors of patients with hypertension decreased. Therefore, control and self-care behaviors are so important. This study has been conducted to study self-regulation behaviors and Associated Factors in elderly patients with hypertension. This study was a cross sectional, descriptive analytic study, which was conducted using multistage sampling on the elderly 60 years and above with hypertension. The sample size was calculated 365 and the final sample size of 380 people was considered by possible losses. The instruments include of demographic and self-regulatory behaviors questionnaire. The results showed that self-regulation of behavior was 42.3% of the total score. In terms of quality, only 7.4% of the elderly had good behavior, 46.6% of poor performance, and the rest were mediocre performance. Age (p = 0.03), gender (p = 0.02), education (p = 0.001), income level (p = 0.03) and marital status (p = 0.001) significantly associated with behaviors of self-regulation. The results generally indicate unfavorable self-regulation of elderly patients with hypertension. Some variables such as gender, age, marital status, education and income levels were associated with these behaviors. So paying attention to the education of the elderly in care centers is essential.展开更多

For two years, teachers were guided by a team of educational scientists to design challenging autonomous learning settings and to foster self-determined academic regulation. Before and after the intervention, about 100 pupils were questioned concerning their well-being in school, perceived autonomy support, their academic self-regulation, and school-related self-efficacy. Teachers' autonomy support decreased during the first year but remained stable from then on. Pupils' intrinsic regulation, as well as their introjected and external regulation and their self-efficacy, decreased throughout the intervention but identified regulation remained stable. The results indicate that perceived self-determination, self-determined academic regulation, and self-efficacy contribute to school-related well-being and offer interesting recommendations for improving the climate in schools for pupils and teachers.展开更多

College students, especially freshmen, are facing a large workload and a relatively flexible learning atmosphere compared with their experience in high school. Self-regulation seems to be an important component in acquiring academic achievement for college students. In other words, students who can control their learning processes effectively are characterized as self-regulated learners(Schunk & Zimmerman 1994). Many people believe that everyone could be self-regulated learner, but what differentiates them most is the quality of their self-regulation( as cited in Cohen 2012). Therefore, understanding the role of self-regulation and how to manage students' learning experiences in order to improve their self-regulation ability are significant.展开更多

A single tutor, also the researcher, works closely with one Chinese university student to develop student-centered comprehension strategies that she can practice on her own. After a battery of formal and informal assessments and interviews, decoding and understanding deficiencies are identified, characterized, and discussed. Both the student and her tutor develop and execute a study plan, which was completed during the spring semester of 2010 at Sha'anxi University of Science and Technology (SUST) in Xi'an, People's Republic of China (PRC). By focusing on the subject's primary decoding deficiency, spelling, and her primary understanding deficiency, lack of background knowledge, the subject and her reading tutor are able to strategically tackle five reading comprehension goals: (1) spelling; (2) phonemic awareness; (3) noticing structural and cohesive elements; (4) comparing argumentative and evaluative texts; and (5) analyzing expository texts in business and economics. A final discussion analyzes both qualitative and quantitative data, including unexpected discoveries such as the salience of cohesion in reading comprehension and the cultural biases of standardized reading assessments.展开更多

文摘The thermoregulating function of skin that is capable of maintaining body temperature within a thermostatic state is critical. However, patients suffering from skin damage are struggling with the surrounding scene and situational awareness. Here,we report an interactive self-regulation electronic system by mimicking the human thermos-reception system. The skin-inspired self-adaptive system is composed of two highly sensitive thermistors(thermal-response composite materials),and a low-power temperature control unit(Laserinduced graphene array). The biomimetic skin can realize self-adjusting in the range of 35–42℃,which is around physiological temperature. This thermoregulation system also contributed to skin barrier formation and wound healing.Across wound models, the treatment group healed~10%more rapidly compared with the control group, and showed reduced inflammation, thus enhancing skin tissue regeneration. The skin-inspired self-adaptive system holds substantial promise for nextgeneration robotic and medical devices.
文摘Smart materials, which exhibit shape memory behavior in response to external stimuli, have shown great potential for use in biomedical applications. In this study,an energetic composite was fabricated using a UV-assisted DIW 3D printing technique and a shape memory material(SMP)as the binder. This composite has the ability to reduce the impact of external factors and adjust gun propellant combustion behavior. The composition and 3D printing process were delineated, while the internal structure and shape memory performance of the composite material were studied. The energetic SMP composite exhibits an angle of reversal of 18 s at 70°,with a maximum elongation typically reaching up to 280% of the original length and a recovery length of approximately 105%during ten cycles.Additionally, thermal decomposition and combustion behavior were also demonstrated for the energetic SMP composite.

文摘In the era of the Internet, various network platforms have evolved into new hubs for information dissemination.Currently,China has established a platform-centered content regulation framework, wherein platforms proactively enforce content regulations in accordance with legal censorship obligations.Additionally, platform policies and user agreements augment their authority in content regulation. The platforms can achieve cost-effective and highly efficient content regulation by leveraging their strategic advantages enabled by their own technical capabilities and extensive coverage. The platform self-regulation model, however, still faces challenges.First, accurately evaluating content remains a formidable task;second, ensuring effective platform publicity through self-regulation poses difficulties;third, users may potentially face disadvantages due to the platform’s right of self-regulation;and fourth, digital copyright owners face challenges when defending digital copyright disputes under the safe harbor rule. Therefore,it is imperative to establish, review, and revise the legal framework for content regulation of network platforms in order to enhance the efficiency of their governance systems. The formulation of the legal framework for content regulation of network platforms may encompass the following aspects:rationalizing obligations pertaining to platform content regulations, enhancing supervision over platform self-regulation,and establishing a dual-track responsibility system for digital copyright content regulation. This will ensure a harmonious balance among public interests, users’personal rights and interests, and commercial benefits through regulating the content on network platforms.
文摘Effective feedback is an essential part of completing and succeeding in education. It is a significant aid to the training of professionals and is increasingly becoming an integral part of any training. The purpose of this document is to describe the characteristics of good feedback. The pedagogical concept of feedback requires it to be non-judgmental and as neutral as possible. This is“specific information that compares the learner’s observed performance to a given standard to improve their future performance”.Understanding the difference between summative evaluation and feedback is essential. While evaluation is based on judgment and a final decision of success or failure, feedback is a positive and constructive action process.Through feedback, the learner will understand if they have achieved their learning goals and how they can achieve them. The role of the teacher is to provide explicit and meaningful information, identify specific areas for improvement, and provide appropriate strategies to achieve this, focusing on the learner’s performance and not on the individual. The six characteristics of feedback include source, connotation, focus level, number of feedback, timing, and determination. The key points of a successful feedback session depend on three main areas:structure, format, and content. Thus, the use of feedback is essential to the learner autonomy and has a major impact on their learning, behaviors, and well-being.Clearly stated, constructive and regular feedback leads changes that are perceived as positive and,in addition, increases the level of engagement of individuals in the organization.Any curriculum should include systematic feedback for every learning session.
文摘The purpose of this paper is to argue the effectiveness of self-regulated learning in English education in Chinese college classroom instruction. A study is given to show whether the introduction of self-regulated learning can help improve Chinese college students' English learning, and help them perform better in the National English test-CET-4 (College English Test Level-4,).
文摘This demonstration of concept applies diagnostic-prescriptive reading instruction, a methodology useo m omteu atd^u~ developmental education, toward improving reading comprehension and self-regulated comprehension strategy selection in Chinese postsecondary education. A final discussion analyzes both qualitative and quantitative data, including unexpected discoveries such as the salience of cohesion in reading comprehension and the cultural biases of standardized reading assessments.
文摘Objective:Self-directed training represents a challenge in simulation-based training as low cognitive effort can occur when learners overrate their own level of performance. This study aims to explore the mechanisms underlying the positive effects of a structured self-assessment intervention during simulation-based training of mastoidectomy. Methods:A prospective, educational cohort study of a novice training program consisting of directed,self-regulated learning with distributed practice(5x3 procedures)in a virtual reality temporal bone simulator. The intervention consisted of structured self-assessment after each procedure using a rating form supported by small videos.Semi-structured telephone interviews upon completion of training were conducted with 13 out of 15 participants.Interviews were analysed using directed content analysis and triangulated with quantitative data on secondary task reaction time for cognitive load estimation and participants’self-assessment scores. Results:Six major themes were identified in the interviews:goal-directed behaviour, use of learning supports for scaffolding of the training, cognitive engagement, motivation from self-assessment,selfassessment bias, and feedback on self-assessment(validation).Participants seemed to self-regulate their learning by forming individual sub-goals and strategies within the overall goal of the procedure. They scaffolded their learning through the available learning supports. Finally, structured self-assessment was reported to increase the participants’cognitive engagement, which was further supported by a quantitative increase in cognitive load. Conclusions:Structured self-assessment in simulation-based surgical training of mastoidectomy seems to promote cognitive engagement and motivation in the learning task and to facilitate self-regulated learning.
