The phase component, microstructure, composition distribution and properties of the composite layer were investigated. The composite layer has graded microstructures and compositions, due to the fast melting followed by rapid solidification and cooling during laser cladding. The TiC powders are completely dissolved into the melted layer during melting and segregated as fine dendrites when solidified. The size of TiC dendrites decreases with increasing depth. Y2O3 fine particles distribute in the whole clad layer. The Y2O3 particle enhanced Ni/TiC composite layer has a quite uniform hardness along depth with a maximum value of HV1380, which is 4 times higher than the initial hardness. The wear resistance of the Ti alloy is significantly improved after laser cladding due to the high hardness of the composite coating.展开更多

The results show that the measured flow stress should be revised by friction and the calculated values of friction coefficient m are in the range of 0.45-0.56. Arrhenius-type constitutive equation was developed by regression analysis. The comparison between the experimental and predicted flow stress shows that the R~ and the average absolute relative error (AARE) are 0.948 and 5.44%, respectively. The measured apparent activation energy Qa is in the range of 540-890 kJ/mol. Both dis-continuous dynamic recrystallization (DDRX) and continuous dynamic recrystallization (CDRX) mechanisms are observed in the deformed alloy, but dynamic recovery (DRV) is the dominant softening mechanism up to a true strain of 1.5.展开更多

On the basis of experiments and dynamic material model, 2D processing maps and 3D power dissipation maps were developed for identification of exact instability regions and optimization of hot processing parameters. The experimental results indicated that the efficiency factor of energy dissipate (η) lowered to the minimum value when the deformation conditions located at the strain of 0.4, temperature of 300 ° C and strain rate of 1 s-1. The softening mechanism was dynamic recovery, the grain shape was mainly flat, and the portion of high angle grain boundary (〉15°) was 34%. While increasing the deformation temperature to 400 ° C and decreasing the strain rate to 0.1 s-1, a maximum value of η was obtained. It can be found that the main softening mechanism was dynamic recrystallization, the structures were completely recrystallized, and the portion of high angle grain boundary accounted for 86.5%. According to 2D processing maps and 3D power dissipation maps, the optimum processing conditions for the extrusion preform of the spray-formed Al?9.0Mg?0.5Mn?0.1Ti alloy were in the deformation temperature range of 340-450 ° C and the strain rate range of 0.01-0.1 s-1 with the power dissipation efficiency range of 38%?43%.展开更多

The fully transformed microstructure in the as-welded zone indicated that the peak temperature exceeded theβ-transus temperature at the weld interface during linear friction welding. TC4 side was mainly composed of martensiteα′phase with random distribution and it was singleβfor that of TC17. In the thermomechanically affected zones of TC4 and TC17, the structure undergoes severe plastic deformation and re-orientation, yet without altering the phase fractions. After PWHT, in the weld zone of TC4 alloy, the phase transformationα′→α+βoccurred and the acicularαwas coarsened, which resulted in a decrease in hardness. In the weld zone of TC17 alloy, fineαphase precipitated at the grain boundary and withinβgrains, which resulted in a sharp increase in hardness.展开更多

T...Trialuminide alloys of elements such as Ti. Nb or Zr are of particular interest as materials for high temperature usage because their density is very low and specific strength and elastic rnoduli are then very high. This report concentrates on recent work on Al3Ti alloys which have been alloyed with ternary elements such that the higher symmetry ordered cubic structure is obtained, leading to somewhat easier operation of deformation mechan isms and hence improved ductility and toughness.Fine details of the crystal structure of cubic trialuminides are considered here and it is shown that the materials generally possess some remnant tetragonal chemical ordering which can affect their me chanical behaviour. In addition the compositional range over which a stable single phase is retained is shown to be extremely small, such that in most cases the materials examined show some form of microstructural instability. These instabilities affect the mechanical behaviour of the materials, for exarnple producing general strengthening. leading to precipitation hardening du ring hig h temperature testing, and causing age hardening instabilities during high temperature static or dynamic testing.Such structural instabifity feads to significant modifications at superdislocations, affecting both the dislocation cores and their associated APB's. Failure for these cubic materials still occurs at very small plastic strains and seems to be determined by difficulties of superdislocation creation near a propagating crack rather than by problems of suitable dislocation configuration and mobility. Possible ways to enhance ductility and toughness by alloying and microstructural modification will be discussed.展开更多

文摘This study was carried out to investigate the possibility of titanium alloy metal powder production using low-power plasma torches. An argon DC non-transferred arc plasma torch was designed, and numerical analysis was conducted to determine the plasma jet properties and wire temperature. The highest velocities inside the nozzle attachment were between 838 and 1178 m/s.The velocities of the jets at the apex were between 494 and 645 m/s for different gas flow rates. The studied plasma gas flow rates had no significant effect on the effective plasma jet length. It was shown that the plasma jet length can be estimated by numerical analysis using the temperature and velocity changes of the plasma jet over distance. It was observed that the powders produced were spherical without any satellites. As a result of this study,a plasma torch was developed and powder production was performed successfully by using relatively low torch power.

文摘In this paper. zirconia is used as top mold material for Ti investment casting. Top mold samples are made by proper mold building technology. The effect of different sintering temperature on chemical composition, microstructure and residual bending strength of the top mold sample is Studied. The volume and homogeneity of the air holes in the top mold are determined by sintering temperature. and finally determined the residual bending strength of the mold sample was determined.

文摘A thermodynamic model has been built up for the interactions between molten Ti alloys and oxide molding materials in the way of decomposition and solution of molding materials, then the influences on the reaction free energy changes have been calculated and discussed.
文摘The microstructure of the Al Ti alloy was studied. It was found that Al x Ti( x <5.0wt%) alloy consists of two phases, the solid solution of titanium in aluminum and the intermetallic compound Al 3Ti.The alloy was deformed by rolling and heat treated. The results show that the second phase precipitates are broken and refined in the matrix by large amount of cold work and crystalline grains are refined by annealing after the cold work.Deformation and heat treatment can improve the distribution of second phase of precipitates in the matrix to certain extent.
文摘The cleavage rupture behaviour of the Ti alloy TC11 with various microstructures,i.e., equiaxed, duplex and interweaving, has been studied under fatigue-creep interaction at 520℃.It was found to be not only related to the rate of creep void initiating, but also control- led by the creep strain accumulation on holding under tension test and stress state at crack-tip.This seem to be combinably offected by both value of critic void initiating strain and parameter,V_(GC),of critic void growth.
文摘Trialuminide alloys of elements such as Ti. Possible ways to enhance ductility and toughness by alloying and microstructural modification will be discussed.
文摘The microhardness and modulus changes of the interface between U-0.75Ti alloy and TiC before andafter heat treatment were studied by SEM and Nano Indenter II, and the results show that the hardness and modulusof the interface are greatly increased after 820℃, 2 h water quenching and 450℃, 6 h aging. This result probablycomes from much more U2Ti and U6Ni precipitates along the interface.
