[Method] The hair and villus yield as well as villus rate of male and female Tianzhu white yaks from one year to six years old was detected and the villus yield was also determined. And these indexes of hair and villus were analyzed to evaluate the production per formance. [ Result] In Tianzhu white yaks from one year to two years old, the hair and villus yield was lower, but the villus rate and yield were high er. The hair and villus yield, villus rate, and villus yield were all higher in Tianzhu white yaks from three years to six years old but significantly de creased in 7yearold Tianzhu white yaks. In addition, the hair and villus yield was significantly ( P 〈 0.05) or very significantly ( P 〈 0.01 ) higher in male yaks than in female yaks. The villus rate was very significantly ( P 〈0.01 ) higher than in female yaks from five years to seven years old than in male yaks at the same age. [ Conclusion] Tianzhu white yaks from one year to two years old have the best hair and villus production perform ance; Tianzhu white yaks from three years to six years old are in the main phase of hair and villus production; Tianzhu white yaks older than seven years old should not be used for hair and villus production.展开更多
On January 21, 2016, a strong earthquake with a magnitude of Ms6.4 occurred at Menyuan, Qinghai Province of China. In almost the same region, there was another strong earthquake happened in 1986, with similar magnitude and focal mechanism. Based on comprehensive analysis of regional active faults, focal mechanism solutions, precise locations of aftershocks, as well as GPS crustal deformation, we inferred that the Lenglongiing active fault dips NE rather than SW as suggested by previous studies. Considering the facts that the 2016 and i986 Ms6.4 Menyuan earthquakes are closely located with similar focal mechanisms, both of the quakes are on the north side of the Lenglongling Fault and adjacent to the fault, and the fault is dipping NE direction, we suggest that the fault should be the seismogenic structure of the two events. The Lenglongling Fault, as the western segment of the well-known Tianzhu seismic gap in the Qilian-Haiyuan active fault system, is in a relatively active state with frequent earthquakes in recent years, implying a high level of strain accumulation and a high potential of major event. It is also possible that the Lengiongiing Fault and its adjacent fault, the Jinqianghe Fault in the Tianzhu seismic gap, are rupturing simultaneously in the future.展开更多

The bird diversity of Tianzhu Mountain in southwest Anhui Province was investigated by line transect method from 2018 to 2019.Combined with field survey and historical data analysis,it was found that there were 175 sp...The bird diversity of Tianzhu Mountain in southwest Anhui Province was investigated by line transect method from 2018 to 2019.Combined with field survey and historical data analysis,it was found that there were 175 species of birds belonging to 46 families and 16 orders in Tianzhu Mountain.A total of 70 species were recorded in this survey,belonging to 31 families and 9 orders,2 of which,Butastur indicus and Yuhina castaniceps,were newly recorded birds in the region.In terms of species number,there were 109 species and 28 families in the order Passeriformes,accounting for 62.29%and 60.87%of all species and families.In terms of the composition of bird residence type,resident birds accounted for 45.71%of the total species,followed by summer migratory birds(24.57%),winter migratory birds(17.14%)and travelling birds(12.57%).There were 123 species of breeding birds,accounting for 70.29%of the total species.The results suggest that the bird resources in Tianzhu Mountain area are relatively rich,and the monitoring and protection of birds should be strengthened to provide a more adequate research basis for biodiversity conservation in Tianzhu Mountain.展开更多

The present study was carried out to investigate the efficiency of superovulation, oestrus synchroni-zation, and embryo recovery in Tianzhu white yaks and also to confirm the pregnancy rate of black yaks, to which emb...The present study was carried out to investigate the efficiency of superovulation, oestrus synchroni-zation, and embryo recovery in Tianzhu white yaks and also to confirm the pregnancy rate of black yaks, to which embryos collected from white yaks were transplanted. Forty-seven yaks were selected from different experiment groups, including 10 Tianzhu white female yaks (donor, group A) and 37 black female yaks (recipient, groups B and C). Superovulation of the donor was induced by the application procedure of CIDR-B + FSH + PG. Oestrus synchronization of recipients was induced using two meth-ods: group B was given the same treatment as group A, except that the follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) injection was not administered, whereas group C was injected with cloprostenol only once when corpus luteum (corpora lutea) was (were) palpated. The results showed that the oestrous rates in group A were higher (80%) than those in group B (60%) and group C (44.5%). As for the efficiency of su-perovulation, it was indicated that the mean numbers (±SD) of total corpora lutea, follicles, viable (transferable), and degenerated embryos were 4.75 ± 2.19, 1.13 ± 0.83, 2.50 ± 1.31, and 1.38 ± 0.92, re-spectively. The mean embryo recovery rates were 55.6%. All together, 18 viable embryos of Tianzhu white yak were obtained and 12 of them were transplanted to 10 recipients. The pregnancy rate was 50% and the delivery rate was 40%.展开更多
