The results showed that X. quadr/p...The occurrence and damage of Xylotrechus quadripes Chew were investigated in different time points and micro environments in Siman south island river coffee test demonstration field. The results showed that X. quadr/pes mainly damaged 5-year-old coffee trees. X. quadr/pes occurred one generation per year in Siman region, and the larval stage lasted 296 - 322 d. The adult could be found in four seasons because of different development progress and overlapping generations. In different micro environments, X. quadr/pes were mainly distributed in mixed forests and the coffee land in sunny slope. The adult enjoyed sunshine on the coffee trees at noon. The nattwal enemy Prislauacus nigripea kieff was found to parasitize in the larvae of X. quadripes, which could control the population of X. quadr/pes.展开更多

Overwintering larvae were collected during Octob...1Xylotrechus rusticus (Linnaeus) is one of the most destruc-tive woodborers in northeast China;it damages poplar and is listed as a domestic forestry quarantine pest. Overwintering larvae were collected during October 2012 and March 2013 in Harbin, China, to quantify indi-cators related to the insect’s overwintering strategy and the major cryo-protectants. The supercooling points (SCPs), which ranged from-14.7°C to -2.9°C, were higher than the lethal temperatures of LT50 (-33.64°C) and LT99 (-40.17°C) after 24 h exposure. , also the minimum mean daily temperature (-24.5°C) and mean monthly temperature (-18.0°C) at the sampling site in January during 2008-2012. Thus, X. rusticus is a typical freezing-tolerant insect. Glycerol serves as a major cryoprotectant for overwintering larvae , because it was the only polyol accumulated during the winter and it also had a significant negative correlation with the SCP (p=0.033, R=0.907). The glycogen and lipid are major sources of ener-gy and their levels decreased substantially in the middle of overwintering, when glycogen had a significant correlation with the SCP (p= 0.006, R=0.971) whereas the lipid contents did not. Moreover, inter-conversions between glycerol and glycogen, as well as mannose and glycogen, were suggested by their negative correlations. The water content did not change obviously during the winter and was not correlated with the SCP. The free amino acids in the hemolymph and the total protein contents of the bodies of larvae changed significantly during winter, although both had no correlations with the SCP.展开更多

The results showed that the larvae and pupae of X. quadripes occurred from April to September in Dehong Prefecture;the adults occurred from September to November;the eggs occurred from December to March of the next year. The use of Beauveria bassiana proparations for control of coffee stem borers, Xylotrechus quardripes Chevr. and Acalolepta cervinus (Hope), as tested in the laboratory and field conditions. The results ...The use of Beauveria bassiana proparations for control of coffee stem borers, Xylotrechus quardripes Chevr. and Acalolepta cervinus (Hope), as tested in the laboratory and field conditions. The results show that each instar of coffee stem borers could be infected and killed successfully when being inoculated or contacted with B. bassiana . The control efficacy under indoor cultivation conditions exceeded 90% within 15 days. Jamming drilled hole with fungal mud resulted in the accumulative mortality and corrected mortality of >90% within 20 days. In the field, three methods, jamming drilled holes with bamboo sticker, bamboo sticker with fungal mud, and fungal mud only, were employed, and each led to the control effect of > 90% within 20 days. However, spraying suspensions and dusting powder of B. bassiana was insignificant. The yield of fresh coffee fruits in biological control area was 125 7?kg/0 067?ha greater than that of control area when being harvested in February. Compared the cost of microbial control with that of chemical control, B. bassiana proved to be a profitable, effective, and safe biocontrol agent against coffee stem borer.展开更多
The optimal formula of Beta-Cypermethrin aqueous capsule suspension was screened out through the experiment, preparation and manufacture of basic formulas, which has no sedimentation, suspended drops of oil, peels and...The optimal formula of Beta-Cypermethrin aqueous capsule suspension was screened out through the experiment, preparation and manufacture of basic formulas, which has no sedimentation, suspended drops of oil, peels and agglomerating and the diameter of capsule is in range of 10-30 靘, conformed to the technical requirement. The aftereffect of the 3.3% Beta-Cypermethrin aqueous capsule suspension which was manufactured according to the optimal formula was up more than 25 days. The experiments on controlling the larvae of Dendrolinmus superans Butler and the adults of Xylotrechus rusticus L were carried out with different concentrations of this chemical. The death rate reached 80% when 250 times solution of the chemical was sprayed on stem to control the larvae of D. superans. For control of the adults of X. rusticus, 200, 400 and 600 times solution of the chemical were applied and their control effects (death rate) reached 85.23%, 74.21% and 66.59% respec-tively. Two kinds of solution (200 times and 300 times) of the chemical were used to control the larvae of D. superans in large area, and the control effect for both concentrations was over 90%.展开更多
