Accurate species identification is a key component of biodiversity research.DNA barcoding is an effective molecular method used for fish species identification.We aimed to study the DNA barcoding of fish in Zhoushan coastal waters,explore the differences and applicability of two gene fragments(12S rRNA and COI)of DNA barcoding in fish species identification,and established a comprehensive fish barcoding reference database.Two hundred and eighty-seven captured fish samples from Zhoushan coastal waters were identified using morphological characteristics and DNA barcoding.A total of 26412S rRNA sequences(belonging to eight orders,31 families,55 genera,and 66 species)and 188 COI sequences(belonging to seven orders,30 families,48 genera,and 58 species)were obtained.The lengths of the 12S rRNA sequences ranged from 165 to 178 bp,and the guanine-cytosine(GC)content was 45.37%.The average 12S rRNA interspecific and intraspecific genetic distances(K2P)were 0.10%and 26.66%,respectively.The length of the COI sequence ranged 574–655 bp,and the content of GC was 45.97%.The average 12S rRNA interspecific and intraspecific genetic distances(K2P)were 0.16%and 27.45%,respectively.The minimum interspecific genetic distances of 12S rRNA and COI(1.23%and 1.86%)were both greater than their maximum intraspecific genetic distances(2.42%and 8.66%).Three molecular analyses(NJ tree,ABGD,and GMYC)were performed to accurately identify and delineate species.Clustering errors occurred when the 12S rRNA sequences were delimited using the NJ tree method,and the delimitation results of ABGD and GMYC are consistent with the final species identification results.Our results demonstrate that DNA barcoding based on 12S rRNA and COI can be used as an effective tool for fish species identification,and 12S rRNA has good application prospects in the environmental DNA(eDNA)metabarcoding of marine fish. 展开更多

In this study, we simulated typhoon waves in the shallow waters around the Zhoushan Islands using the WaveWatch-Ⅲ(WW3) model version 5.16, the latest version released by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. Specifically, we used in-situ measurements to evaluate the performance of seven packages of input/dissipation source terms in the WW3 model. We forced the WW3 model by wind fields derived from a combination of the parametric Holland model and high-resolution European Center for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts(ECMWF) wind data in a 0.125? grid, herein called H-E winds. We trained the H-E winds by fitting a shape parameter B to buoy-measured observations, which resulted in a smallest root mean square error(RMSE) of 3 m s^(-1) for B, when treated as a constant 0.4. Then, we applied the seven input/dissipation terms of WW3, labelled ST1, ST2, ST2+STAB2, ST3, ST3+STAB3, ST4, and ST6, to simulate the significant wave height(SWH) up to 5 m during typhoons Fungwong and Chan-hom around the Zhoushan Islands. We then compared the SWHs of the simulated waves with those measured by the in-situ buoys. The results indicate that the simulation using ST2 performs best with an RMSE of 0.79 m for typhoon Fung-wong and an RMSE of 1.12 m for typhoon Chan-hom. Interestingly, we found the simulated SWH results to be relatively higher than those of the observations in the area between Hangzhou Bay and the Zhoushan Islands. This behavior is worthy of further investigation in the future. 展开更多

The original purpose of Vessel Monitoring System(VMS) is for enforcement and control of vessel sailing. With the application of VMS in fishing vessels, more and more population dynamic studies have used VMS data to improve the accuracy of fisheries stock assessment. In this paper, we simulated the trawl trajectory under different time intervals using the cubic Hermite spline(c Hs) interpolation method based on the VMS data of 8 single otter trawl vessels(totally 36000 data items) fishing in Zhoushan fishing ground from September 2012 to December 2012, and selected the appropriate time interval. We then determined vessels' activities(fishing or non-fishing) by comparing VMS speed data with the corresponding speeds from logbooks. The results showed that the error of simulated trajectory greatly increased with the increase of time intervals of VMS data when they were longer than 30 minutes. Comparing the speeds from VMS with those from the corresponding logbooks, we found that the vessels' speeds were between 2.5 kn and 5.0 kn in fishing. The c Hs interpolation method is a new choice for improving the accuracy of estimation of sailing trajectory, and the VMS can be used to determine the vessels' activities with the analysis of their trajectories and speeds. Therefore, when the fishery information is limited, VMS can be one of the important data sources for fisheries stock assessment, and more attention should be paid to its construction and application to fisheries stock assessment and management. 展开更多

Results indicate that the concentration and flux of suspended sediments decrease sharply from Hangzhou Bay to the offshore area. Suspended sediment transport is mainly controlled by advection transport and gravitational circulation transport. The settling velocity of suspended sediments gradually decreases from Hangzhou Bay to the offshore area. The settlement of suspended sediments mainly takes place during the turning phase of the tidal currents. 展开更多

Based on the quasi-harmonic analysis of 11 d vector ocean currents obtained from two high frequency sur- face wave radars located at Zhujiajian Island and Shengshan Island, the spatial distribution characteristics of surface tidal currents in the open sea area to the east of the Zhoushan Islands of Zhejiang Province, China are studied. The following conclusions are drawn from the analysis: the tidal current pattern in the open sea area to the east of Zhoushan Islands is primarily regular semidiurnal, which is significantly affected by the shallow water constituents. The directions of the major axes of tidal current ellipses of M2 lie approx- imately in the NW-SE direction. With the increasing of distance away from the coast, the directions of the tidal current ellipses gradually shift toward the E-W direction. The tidal currents are mainly reversing cur- rents. The spatial distribution of probable maximum current velocities decreases gradually from northeast to southwest which is basically in accordance with the spatial distribution of measured maximum current velocities. The residual currents near the coast are larger than those far away from the coast. The directions of the residual currents are basically north by east, and the angle to the due north increases gradually with the increasing distance away from the coast. The topography shows a certain impact on the spatial distri- bution of shallow water constituents, the rotation of tidal currents, the probable maximum currents and the residual currents. 展开更多

We used generalized additive models (GAM) to analyze the relationship between spatiotemporal factors and catch, and to estimate the monthly marine fishery yield of single otter trawls in Putuo district of Zhoushan, China. We used logbooks from five commercial fishing boats and data in government's monthly statistical reports. We developed two GAM models: one included temporal variables (month and hauling time) and spatial variables (longitude and latitude), and another included just two variables, month and the number of fishing boats. Our results suggest that temporal factors explained more of the variability in catch than spatial factors. Furthermore, month explained the majority of variation in catch. Change in spatial distribution of fleet had a temporal component as the boats fished within a relatively small area within the same month, but the area varied among months. The number of boats fishing in each month also explained a large proportion of the variation in catch. Engine power had no effect on catch. The pseudo-coefficients (PCf) of the two GAMs were 0.13 and 0.29 respectively, indicating the both had good fits. The model yielded estimates that were very similar to those in the governmental reports between January to September, with relative estimate errors (REE) of <18%. However, the yields in October and November were significantly underestimated, with REEs of 36% and 27%, respectively. 展开更多

Heavy metals,polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons(PAHs),and perfluorinated alkyl substances(PFASs)polluted in 155 samples of two marine crustaceans(Oratosquilla oratoria and Portunus trituberculatus)harvested in the Zhoushan fishing ground in the East China Sea were assessed.The results showed that Pb,Hg,and iAs in the whole edible parts of O.oratoria and P.trituberculatus were at trace levels,far below the limits set by the China’s national standard,whereas the exceeding standard rates of Cd in the whole edible parts of O.oratoria and P.trituberculatus were 98.6%and 75.6%,respectively.Moreover,the average Cd levels and the exceeding standard rates of Cd in the visceral tissues of O.oratoria were significantly higher than those in the muscle tissues(4.64 mg kg^(−1)vs.0.49 mg kg^(−1)and 96.7%vs 30%,respectively).PAHs with high detection frequency in the two marine crustaceans included NA,AC,FL,and PHE.Total contents of 15 PAHs(abbreviated asΣ15 PAHs)in whole edible parts of O.oratoria and P.trituberculatus were 10.75–65.9μg kg^(−1)(mean=18.7μg kg^(−1)and 13.26–181μg kg^(−1)(mean=24.2μg kg^(−1),and those in the muscle and the visceral tissues of P.trituberculatus were 9.58–160μg kg^(−1)(mean=21.1μg kg^(−1)and 18.22–201μg kg^(−1)(mean=32.7μg kg^(−1),respectively.Furthermore,PFASs that were found at high contents included PFOA,PFOS,and PFOSA,and total contents of 23 PFASs(Σ23 PFASs)ranged 0.0162–5.104μg kg^(−1)(mean=0.915μg kg^(−1).Collectively,the present work provides new data on the contamination in two marine crustaceans captured in the Zhoushan fishing ground in the China East Sea,which can be useful for making suggestions on proper consumption amounts of the two marine crustaceans. 展开更多

This study conducted four cruises during 2014–2017 to investigate relationships between macrobenthic communities and sediment contaminations in sea area around the Zhoushan Archipelago.Fourteen sites were categorized into three groups:high total heavy metal contamination content(HHMC),high total petroleum hydrocarbon content(HTPH),and low content ratio of heavy metal contamination content to total petroleum hydrocarbon content(HMC/TPH)areas.Four main taxa of macrofauna(polychaetes,bivalves,gastropods,and crustaceans)were determined to respond to environmental factors differently.While tolerant polychaetes being the minimal impact by environmental factors,bivalves were threated by heavy metal pollutions in sediment.Additionally,body size distribution frequency demonstrated that macrofauna in the low HMC/TPH areas were less disturbed by contamination than those in the HHMC and HTPH areas.The result represented the presentation of sensitive species while tolerant species are usually considered as small size organisms.Overall,this study confirmed the hypothesis that the contamination levels of small-scale patches is indicated by the condition of macrobenthic communities. 展开更多

Picoeukaryotes(<2-3μm)are major oceanic primary producers and play a crucial role for the functioning of marine ecosystems.However,the community structure of such communities remains poorly understood,especially in the East China Sea(ECS).We investigated the seasonal variations of abundance and diversity of picoeukaryotes,and recorded environmental variables,along a transect in Zhoushan Fishing Ground.High-throughput sequencing was used for sequencing the V4-V5 variable region within the 18S rRNA gene to analyze genetic diversity and relative abundance of picoeukaryotes.A total of 40 phyla,68 classes,99 orders,126 families,and 140 genera were observed.The estimated richness and diversity indices were both higher in each season.The composition and dominant picoeukaryotes changed significantly at the class level with the seasons alternating.Basidiomycota,Ciliophora,Ascomycota and Cryptomonadales were observed throughout the year.The Linear Discriminant Analysis(LDA)revealed the predominant discriminant taxa of four seasonal groups.Redundancy analysis(RDA)showed that NO2^−and salinity played very important roles to picoeukaryotes for all the spring samples and DS5 sample in winter,PO4^3−and pH affected mostly picoeukaryotes for winter samples and autumn samples. 展开更多

The pollution level of diuron in seawater and sediments in the west coastal sea area of Zhoushan Island from 2011 to 2013 was investigated. Results revealed that the concentration of diuron in seawater varies from less than (3.0 to 52.1) ng·L-1, with an average level of less than 11.1 ng.L-1. The annual average content was less than 7.9 ng.L-1, 13.9 ng.L-1, and 12.3 ng.L-1 in 2011, 2012, and 2013, respectively. The concentrations of diuron in marine sediments also varied from less than (0.3 to 3.9) ng.g-1 (dry weight), with an average concentration of less than 1.13 ng g-1 (dry weight). The annual average concentration was less than 0.851 ng.g-1, 1.328 ng.g-1, and 1.202 ng.g-1 in 2011, 2012, and 2013, respectively. The accumulation of diuron in seawater and sediments may pose a potential risk to the marine ecosystem of the investigated sea area. 展开更多

Zhoushan City in Zhejiang Province is the focus of China's reclamation area, and it also has a great influence on the groundwater quality. Based on the observed data of groundwater level and chloride ion concentration, groundwater quality in the next 6 years in Zhoushan area is predicted and analyzed by using groundwater numerical simulation software GMS. According to the comparison of observed groundwater level and simulated groundwater level at the end time, it is found that the whole water level in the filling area has the small fluctuation, which is within the range of 1 m. And the highest concentration of chloride ion is in the eastern coastal area. The prediction results indicate that there is no obvious trend of sea water with high chloride ion concentration to land. Under the condition of the current groundwater utilization, the groundwater level in Donggang sea area of Zhoushan is stable, and the chloride ion concentration has a slight decrease trend. 展开更多

Nested subset pattern(nestedness)is an important part of the theoretical framework of island biogeography and community ecology.However,most previous studies often used nestedness metrics or randomization algorithms that are vulnerable to type I error.In this study,we inves-tigated the nestedness of lizard assemblages on 37 islands in the Zhoushan Archipelago,China.We used the line-transect method to survey species occurrence,abundance,and habitat types of lizards on 37 islands during 2 breeding seasons in 2021 and 2022.We applied the nested metric WNODF and the conservative rc null model to control for type I error and quantify the significance of nestedness.Spearman rank cor relations were used to evaluate the role of 4 habitat variables(island area,2 isolation indices,and habitat diversity)and 4 ecological traits(body size,geographic range size,clutch size,and minimum area requirement)in generating nestedness.The results of WNODF analyses showed that lizard assemblages were significantly nested.The habitat-by-site matrix estimated by the program NODF was also significantly nested,support-ing the habitat nestedness hypothesis.The nestedness of lizard assemblages were significantly correlated with island area,habitat diversity.clutch size,and minimum area requirement.Overall,our results suggest that selective extinction and habitat nestedness were the main drivers of lizard nestedness in our system.In contrast,the nestedness of lizard assemblages was not due to passive sampling or selective colonization.To maximize the number of species preserved,our results indicate that we should protect both large islands with diverse habitats and species with largearea requirement and clutch size. 展开更多

杭州湾是世界闻名的强潮河口,具有不规则的岸线边界、独特的地形地貌特征和复杂的水动力泥沙环境。岱山—洋山跨海通道位于杭州湾湾口水域,将岱山与洋山近35km连通,实现了上海—洋山—岱山—舟山—宁波跨海通道的全线贯通,其建设具有非... 杭州湾是世界闻名的强潮河口,具有不规则的岸线边界、独特的地形地貌特征和复杂的水动力泥沙环境。岱山—洋山跨海通道位于杭州湾湾口水域,将岱山与洋山近35km连通,实现了上海—洋山—岱山—舟山—宁波跨海通道的全线贯通,其建设具有非常重要的意义。基于考虑波浪作用的潮流泥沙数值模型,讨论了岱山—洋山跨海通道几种工况对杭州湾大范围海域水沙环境的影响。研究结果表明:跨海通道实施后潮位变化在大桥轴线附近较为敏感,远离则基本没有影响,高低潮位变化幅度大多在2 cm以内。杭州湾涨落潮量减小小于0.6%。水流流态和水下地形仅在大桥附近水域存在明显变化。从对杭州湾水沙环境影响角度考虑,岱山—洋山跨海通道几种工况均可行,建议关注桥墩和人工岛附近的局部冲刷问题。 展开更多

LNG接收站取水流道内水流形态复杂,泥沙淤积问题往往难以避免,特别是在含沙量较高水域,流道内泥沙淤积可能威胁接收站的正常运营。为实现LNG取水泵站不停机条件下清淤,开展取水泵站射流冲刷物理模型试验,模拟了射流冲沙装置开启后吸水间射流水流特征及冲刷效果,探究了射流冲刷设置的喷嘴与翼墙夹角、射流流量、冲刷时间等因素影响下流道内减淤清淤效果。试验结果表明,在理想状态下吸水间射流冲沙装置连续作用12h基本可达到较为理想的清淤效果;一次大风浪过后,装置连续作用0.5h基本可达到较为理想的清淤效果。清淤效果视射流流量、喷嘴与翼墙夹角以及冲刷时间不同而有差别。结合取水泵站泥沙淤积物理模型试验研究成果,取水泵站淤积区主要发生在前池、过滤池末端、吸水间和消防泵附近,建议在这些区域安装射流冲沙装置,实现不停机状态下的减淤清淤,提高取水安全保证率,从而提高运营效益。 展开更多

海岛水产养殖业台风灾害脆弱性分析:以舟山和温州海岛地区为例

基于浙江舟山和温州海岛地区获取的344份水产养殖家庭问卷调查数据和各利益相关者的访谈数据,使用混合数据的因子分析(FAMD)和主成分的层次聚类分析(HCPC),辨识海岛水产养殖家庭台风灾害脆弱性类型,揭示各脆弱性类型的特征,识别家庭脆... 基于浙江舟山和温州海岛地区获取的344份水产养殖家庭问卷调查数据和各利益相关者的访谈数据,使用混合数据的因子分析(FAMD)和主成分的层次聚类分析(HCPC),辨识海岛水产养殖家庭台风灾害脆弱性类型,揭示各脆弱性类型的特征,识别家庭脆弱性类型的判别指标,分析台风灾害及其他压力源对海岛渔业生态系统和水产养殖家庭经济脆弱性的影响。研究发现:1)海岛地区水产养殖业和水产养殖家庭呈现高经济脆弱性,大部分虾蟹贝混养类、藻类和贻贝类养殖家庭台风灾害损失严重。2)水产养殖家庭在暴露度、敏感性和适应能力方面的差异,导致家庭呈现3种不同的脆弱性类型及特征。3)家庭劳动力的不足、多次遭受台风灾害损失、基础设施不能充分满足需求是水产养殖家庭呈现台风灾害脆弱性的共同影响因素;风险暴露、养殖品种、家庭年均收入、户主年龄、教育程度、社会支持、采用适应策略的数量及成本-收益情况这些显著判别指标间的差异是形成不同脆弱性类型的关键。4)气候、生态环境、经济和市场、社会、制度和政策等方面的多重压力源相互作用产生累积效应,加剧了海岛地区渔业生态系统的脆弱性和家庭的社会经济脆弱性。 展开更多

Recently designated as a new special economic zone in China,Zhoushan Archipelago is going through a rapid land use change that is expected to have significant impacts on ecosystem services.However,there is no baseline of ecosystem service value(ESV)of the Zhoushan Archipelago up to date,making it impossible to assess any impacts of land use changes.In this study,we adopted the concept of“equivalent value per unit area of ecosystem services in China”and computed the ESV for 2006,2012,and 2020 of a representative district,Dinghai,on the Zhoushan Archipelago.We then analyzed the spatial and temporal patterns of land use changes and their impacts on ESV.The results indicated that the ESV of Dinghai District declined by 59.3 M Chinese yuan($9.5 M US dollars)from 2006 to 2012 and would further decrease by an additional 30.9 M yuan($5 M US dollars)by 2020 according to its planned land uses.These declines in ESV were primarily due to increases in buildup areas and losses in wetland,farmland,and water areas.The results imply that more attention should be paid to controlling urban growth and protecting coastal wetlands in order to preserve valuable ecosystem services of the Archipelago. 展开更多
