The structure of MHA-H copper chelate was investigated by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The crystal structure(C10H18Cu O6S2, 1, monoclinic, space group P21/c, Z = 2, a = 16.158(4), b = 4.9733(12), c = 9.159(2) ?, β = 104.786(4)°) exhibits that two MHA-H ligands coordinate with a CuII ion to form a square-planar environment completed to an octahedron through interaction with carbonyl oxygens of neighboring molecules, which expand to constitute a two-dimensional sheet coordination network. And a separation between the hydrophilic and lipophilic moieties like micelles was found in the packing structure. X-ray powder diffraction and thermogravimetric analysis were used to study the phase purity of the bulk sample and thermostability of complex 1, respectively.展开更多

This is reflected in the increasing volume of their waste. Food is thrown away on criteria that have nosthing to do with its nutritional quality. In most cases, the criteria are shape, color and stains. In order to reduce this waste, a way of valorization was investigated. This paper focuses on waste reduction through feeding the Abidjan zoo animals with the unsold products of three agro-industries. The unsold products collected by the zoo were characterized over an 8-year period (2011 to 2019). Deaths and births were recorded. The food needs met by the unsold products harvested were evaluated and the economic gains estimated. The results showed that the food recovered by the Abidjan Zoo at SOCOCE contained 34.94% fruit, 38.58% vegetable and 23.47% meat products. At SCB and Coquivoire the donations are estimated at 2 tons of bananas and 1.5 tons of chickens (smoked and cold chicken) respectively. These donations allowed the Zoo to save 25.94% of its budget allocated to animal feed. The diversity of the food collected has a positive impact on the quality of life of the animals at the Zoo. This is reflected in an increase in the number of births from 0 to 12 per year and a decrease in mortality of 90%.展开更多

文摘The discovery and application of antibiotics in animal feeds have boomed the development of intensive animal husbandry in the last century, until the emergence of antibiotics-resistant bacteria. To alleviate the risks aroused by antibiotics-resistant bacteria, effective antibiotic substitutes are urgently needed to replace antibiotics.Essential oils(EOs)derived from plants are illustrated as the promising antibiotic substitutes used in animal feeds,as same as their current views for poultry and livestock industries in the future. It has been widely demonstrated that the phytochemicals in EOs show multiple biofunctionability and are less likely to induce resistance in bacteria. The beneficial effects of EOs feed supplementation on the intestinal inflammation, intestinal flora, immunity, digestion, and growth performances have been already extensively examined. However, the cost-effectiveness,odor,volatility,instability and bioavailability are the challenges in effectively utilizing EOs in animal intestines.Based on previous researches, and these challenges can partially be resolved by microencapsulation and nanotechnology are promising techniques to deal with these challenges. This article presents the feasibility and foundation of EOs application as antibiotic substitutes in animal feeds, and illustrates the mechanisms, functional performances and superiority of EOs compared with antibiotics.

文摘Many studies have estimated the potential of crop residues for energy generation globally and recognized its great potential, especially in rural areas where on-grid electricity is uneconomical. However, crop residues have other equally important uses as animal feed and as mulch for soil enhancement, especially in rural farming communities.Nevertheless, most of the known studies have neglected the estimation of the quantity of crop residues that will be required for feeding animals and also for the enhancement of soil through mulching in their energy potential estimation from crop residues.Neglecting these two important uses can lead to the over-exploitation of the residues for energy generation at the expense of conservation agriculture practices as well as depriving animals of quality feed which can lead to low crop yield and animal production, with the ability to cause hunger and poverty. This study has assessed the potential of electricity generation from agricultural residues in the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba district of Ghana using gasification technology, taking cognizance of the proportion of residues needed for animal consumption and soil enhancement. The results of the study indicate that out of the 207646.22 t of residues that can be generated from maize, yam, cassava, millet, sorghum, and groundnut,26830.36 t(representing 13%)will be required by sheep, goats, and cows for consumption, and 13936.17 t(representing 7%)will be required for mulching soils where the crops are planted. Also,it was found that a total of 592.17 MW∙h of electricity can be generated from crop residues without animal consumption and soil enhancement needs, while 461.89 MW∙h could be generated from the residues, considering animal feed and soil enhancement. This study has indicated that it is not enough to consider soil enhancement and animal feeding in agricultural biomass power generation through recovery factors without the exact quantification of residues required for these purposes since this can lead to a violation of conservation agricultural practice.Hence,it is concluded that the proper estimation of residues required for soil enhancement needs and animal feeding must be considered in the estimation of crop residues available for electricity generation following the method proposed in this study. It is further concluded from this study that, the proper utilization of crop residues serve as an important resource for meeting the electricity demand of the inhabitants in the study location without compromising on the residues that will be required for the consumption of all the animals in the location as well as for enhancement of the soil.
文摘In this paper a method for simultaneous determination of 6 antioxidants (PG,TBHQ,BHA,OG,DG and NDGA) in animal feed by HPLC-MS/MS was described. The samples were extracted by acetonitrile and cleaned up with auto solid phase extraction. The samples were separated by HPLC with a C8 column. The electrospray (ESI) negative mode detected by MRM is used for MS/MS.The detection limits were 2 mg/kg,recoveries and RSDs were 84%-106% and 3.0%-9.0% at this concentration respectively. The method was highly efficient and sensitive, stable and precise.
