A Double-Interactively Recurrent Fuzzy Cerebellar Model Articulation Controller Model Combined with an Improved Particle Swarm Optimization Method for Fall Detection

In many Eastern and Western countries,falling birth rates have led to the gradual aging of society.Older adults are often left alone at home or live in a long-term care center,which results in them being susceptible to unsafe events(such as falls)that can have disastrous consequences.However,automatically detecting falls fromvideo data is challenging,and automatic fall detection methods usually require large volumes of training data,which can be difficult to acquire.To address this problem,video kinematic data can be used as training data,thereby avoiding the requirement of creating a large fall data set.This study integrated an improved particle swarm optimization method into a double interactively recurrent fuzzy cerebellar model articulation controller model to develop a costeffective and accurate fall detection system.First,it obtained an optical flow(OF)trajectory diagram from image sequences by using the OF method,and it solved problems related to focal length and object offset by employing the discrete Fourier transform(DFT)algorithm.Second,this study developed the D-IRFCMAC model,which combines spatial and temporal(recurrent)information.Third,it designed an IPSO(Improved Particle Swarm Optimization)algorithm that effectively strengthens the exploratory capabilities of the proposed D-IRFCMAC(Double-Interactively Recurrent Fuzzy Cerebellar Model Articulation Controller)model in the global search space.The proposed approach outperforms existing state-of-the-art methods in terms of action recognition accuracy on the UR-Fall,UP-Fall,and PRECIS HAR data sets.The UCF11 dataset had an average accuracy of 93.13%,whereas the UCF101 dataset had an average accuracy of 92.19%.The UR-Fall dataset had an accuracy of 100%,the UP-Fall dataset had an accuracy of 99.25%,and the PRECIS HAR dataset had an accuracy of 99.07%. 展开更多

Value of acoustic perceptual method for analysis of compensatory articulation errors in postoperative patients with cleft palate

Objective To establish an acoustic perceptual method analyzing the compensatory articulation errors in children with operated cleft palate via the formants of Chinese pure vowels. Methods The first three formants which represent vocal transmission character in Chinese pure vowels of 84 subjects with operated cleft palate, were measured by Computerized Speech Signal Processing System (CSSPS). The Chinese vowel graph of postoperative patients with cleft palate was stated by the first formant frequencies (F1) and the second formant frequencies (F2) of the Chinese pure vowels between the two groups. Results Values of F1 and F2 of vowels except [a] in the poor articulation group (Group A) were significantly different from those in the good articulation group (Group B) (P<0.05 or P<0.01). As compared with that in Group B, the vowel graph demonstrated the decreased perceptual distances in Group A. These findings indicated that there might still be the backward movements of tongue, perverted mandibular movements and disharmonious lip movements in addition to the velopharyngeal insufficiency (VPI) in Group A. Conclusion The speech articulation of children with repaired cleft palate should be gained by correcting the aberrant compensatory articulation errors in the condition of velopharyngeal competence. Computerized Speech Signal Processing System (CSSPS), which is regarded as the content of objective quantitative measurement, is a precise, simple, reliable and atroumatic technique for children with cleft palate to analyze pathological compensatory articulation errors. 展开更多

The researcher used the method of purposive samplings that were specified keyinformants and continued in the method of snowball in the purpose to get much data and information from anothersources. And this research used interviews as tool of investigation of an interview. From the results of interviewswith interviewers, researcher examined these informations and the form of change to descriptive. From the resultsof the study, researcher can conclude that the articulation of lifestyle in community has been described that thetraditional lifestyle changes to modem lifestyle, for examples, clothing patterns, the pattern of food, recreationalpatterns, the ownership of the means of transport, the condition of the dwelling house architecture, and places ofworship. 展开更多

Computing All Pairs Shortest Paths on Sparse Graphs with Articulation Points

In most network analysis tools the computation of the shortest paths between all pairs of nodes is a fundamental step to the discovery of other properties. Among other properties is the computation of closeness centrality, a measure of the nodes that shows how central a vertex is on a given network. In this paper, the authors present a method to compute the All Pairs Shortest Paths on graphs that present two characteristics: abundance of nodes with degree value one, and existence of articulation points along the graph. These characteristics are present in many real life networks especially in networks that show a power law degree distribution as is the case of biological networks. The authors' method compacts the single nodes to their source, and then by using the network articulation points it disconnects the network and computes the shortest paths in the biconnected components. At the final step the authors proposed methods merges the results to provide the whole network shortest paths. The authors' method achieves remarkable speedup compared to state of the art methods to compute the shortest paths, as much as 7 fold speed up in artificial graphs and 3.25 fold speed up in real application graphs. The authors' performance improvement is unlike previous research as it does not involve elaborated setups since the authors algorithm can process significant instances on a popular workstation. 展开更多

As the three strength reliabilities conditioned each other, there was a problem for the system reliability to apportion rationally. In fact, there was a transition from safety to deactivation. The state of structure was fuzziness which was in both safety and non-safety states. Therefore the reliability was a fuzzy event which considered the randomness for some design parameters and the fuzziness for the thresholds between generalized strength safety and deactivation. Tribological properties of femoro-tibial leg joints in two beetles,darkling beetle Zophobas morio and Congo rose chafer Pachnoda marginata were studied.Very low friction of 0.004 was revealed by the direct measurements in the joint.It is assumed that semi-solid lubricant functioning as in technical bearings is one of the leading factors of the friction minimization.Dependence of the surface texture and physical chemical properties(hydrophobicity)on the cuticle friction was analysed.Contribution of the surface texture to the tribological properties of contacting surfaces was examined by the measurement in the tribosystem“contacting surface/glass”.It is supposed that coefficient of friction(COF)decreases with decrease of surface roughness.At the same time,no statistically significant correlation was found between the hydrophobicity of the surface and the value of the friction coefficient. 展开更多

We propose a framework of hand articulation detection from a monocular depth image using curvature scale space(CSS) descriptors. We extract the hand contour from an input depth image, and obtain the fingertips and finger-valleys of the contour using the local extrema of a modified CSS map of the contour. Then we recover the undetected fingertips according to the local change of depths of points in the interior of the contour. Compared with traditional appearance-based approaches using either angle detectors or convex hull detectors, the modified CSS descriptor extracts the fingertips and finger-valleys more precisely since it is more robust to noisy or corrupted data;moreover, the local extrema of depths recover the fingertips of bending fingers well while traditional appearance-based approaches hardly work without matching models of hands. Experimental results show that our method captures the hand articulations more precisely compared with three state-of-the-art appearance-based approaches. 展开更多

Cleft lip and/or palate(CLP)are the most common craniofacial malformations in humans.Speech problems often persist even after cleft repair,such that follow-up articulation training is usually required.However,the neural mechanism behind effective articulation training remains largely unknown.We used fMRI to investigate the differences in brain activation,functional connectivity,and effective connectivity across CLP patients with and without articulation training and matched normal participants.We found that training promoted task-related brain activation among the articulation-related brain networks,as well as the global attributes and nodal efficiency in the functional-connectivity-based graph of the network.Our results reveal the neural correlates of effective articulation training in CLP patients,and this could contribute to the future improvement of the post-repair articulation training program. 展开更多

Bidding Farewell with Regret: Notes towards Affective Articulations and Inter-Asian Writing

This paper proposes an alternative approach to the contemporary discussion of Asia, or more specifically East Asia. Rather than conceptualizing Asia as a geo-economic entity, as a cultural historical construct of Euro-centrism, and as a capitalist vision of the world market, this paper seeks to recapture "Asia" in what I call "affective articulations." Specifically, I will examine Dazai Osamu's Farewell with Regret (Sekibetsu, 1945) and Zhang Chengzhi's Respect and Farewell with Regret (Jingzhong yu xibie, 2008) as two exemplars of inter-Asian writing in which Asia is represented as a loaded symbol of affect. Whereas Dazai's book was written in the heat of Great East Asia War, to comply with the demands of the Japanese war effort, Zhang's book was written at the no less challenging time of China's rise to regional hegemony. Though they differ in style and purpose, both texts hold up a vision of Asia which is distinctly grasped in affective encounters, symbolized by the act of "bidding farewell with regret" (xibie). Intrigued by the affective significance of bidding farewell with regret, this paper first considers "farewell" as a method to recast the discussion of Asia in regional and geopolitical terms, and then performs an analysis of the texts in question so as to identify crucial moments when Asia, despite its internal heterogeneity and complicated history, is grasped in the affective articulation of Sino-Japanese encounters. Such moments, I believe, are real, sincere, and indispensable for our attempt to re-imagine Asia as a translocal solidarity. 展开更多

A principal component analysis-cerebellar model articulation controller (PCA-CMAC) model is proposed for machine performance degradation assessment.PCA is used to feature selection,which eliminates the redundant information among the features from the sensor signals and reduces the dimension of the input to CMAC.CMAC is used to assess degradation states quantitatively based on its local generalization ability.The implementation of the model is presented and the model is applied in a drilling machine to assess the states of the cutting tool. The results show that the model can assess the wear states quantitatively based on the normal state of the cutting tool.The influence of the quantization parameter g and the generalization parameter r in the CMAC model on the assessment results is analyzed.If g is larger,the generalization ability is better,but the difference of degradation states is not obvious.If r is smaller,the different states are distinct,but memory requirements for storing the weights are larger.The principle for selecting two parameters is that the memory storing the weights should be small while the degradation states should be easily distinguished. 展开更多

Superplasticity of AZ 31 magnesium matrix composites reinforced with 10 vol% SiC(2 μm) particulate i s investigated at temperature range from 365℃ to 565℃ and strain rate from 2.0 8×10<sup>-3</sup> to 5.21×10<sup>-1</sup> s<sup>-1</sup>. The maximum total elongation of 228 % is obtained at a strain rate of 2.08×10<sup>-1</sup> s<sup>-1</sup>. The strain rate se nsitivity exponent (m) higher than 0.3, is observed when the strain rate is high er than 10<sup>-1</sup> s<sup>-1</sup> at 525℃. Increasing the test temperature to 540℃, the maximum total elongation exceeding 195% is achieved at a higher strain rate of 5.21×10<sup>-1</sup> s<sup>-1</sup> than that at 525℃. SiC in AZ31/SiCp composite ca n fine the matrix grain size. Filament is observed on the fracture surface of th e specimens showing superplasticity. 展开更多

目的探讨脊髓型颈椎病术后神经功能恢复时间的模式。方法对42例继发于椎管狭窄的进行性脊髓型颈椎病患者施行外科手术治疗,前方手术入路24例,后方入路18例。于术后1,3,6,12,18个月各随访1次,之后每年随访1次,进行JOA评分。结果术前JOA... 目的探讨脊髓型颈椎病术后神经功能恢复时间的模式。方法对42例继发于椎管狭窄的进行性脊髓型颈椎病患者施行外科手术治疗,前方手术入路24例,后方入路18例。于术后1,3,6,12,18个月各随访1次,之后每年随访1次,进行JOA评分。结果术前JOA评分为1~15分,平均8.3分。10例严重患者JOA评分〈6分,术后6个月在随访中保持平稳的JOA平均值为13.3分(3~17分)。最后一次随访应用Hirabayash i技术评估平均为52.5%。神经功能恢复表现在术后第1—3个月,而后维持稳定。JOA评分〉6分和JOA评分〈6分病例神经功能恢复非常相似。在前路与后路手术方式中,患者的神经功能康复无显著性差异。结论该型患者神经功能恢复在术后6个月表现非常迅速,之后则表现平稳,与初始病变严重程度无关。更多比JOA评分系统有效的评分系统应该发展起来应用于此类患者的随访过程中。 展开更多
