The inverse kinematics problem of a humanoid manipulator can be formulated as an equivalent minimization problem, and thus it can be solved using some numerical optimization methods. Biogeography-based optimization (BBO) is a new biogeography inspired optimization algorithm, and it can be adopted to solve the inverse kinematics problem of a humanoid manipulator. The standard BBO algorithm that uses traditional migration and mutation operators suffers from slow convergence and prematurity. A hybrid biogeography-based optimization (HBBO) algorithm, which is based on BBO and differential evolution (DE), is presented. In this hybrid algorithm, new habitats in the ecosystem are produced through a hybrid migration operator, that is, the BBO migration strategy and Did/best/I/bin differential strategy, to alleviate slow convergence at the later evolution stage of the algorithm. In addition, a Gaussian mutation operator is adopted to enhance the exploration ability and improve the diversity of the population. Based on these, an 8-DOF (degree of freedom) redundant humanoid manipulator is employed as an example. The end-effector error (position and orientation) and the 'away limitation level' value of the 8-DOF humanoid manipulator constitute the fitness function of HBBO. The proposed HBBO algorithm has been used to solve the inverse kinematics problem of the 8-DOF redundant humanoid manipulator. Numerical simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of this method.展开更多

文摘PID controllers play an important function in determining tuning para-meters in any process sector to deliver optimal and resilient performance for non-linear,stable and unstable processes. The effectiveness of the presented hybrid metaheuristic algorithms for a class of time-delayed unstable systems is described in this study when applicable to the problems of PID controller and Smith PID controller. The Direct Multi Search(DMS)algorithm is utilised in this research to combine the local search ability of global heuristic algorithms to tune a PID controller for a time-delayed unstable process model.A Metaheuristics Algorithm such as,SA(Simulated Annealing),MBBO(Modified Biogeography Based Opti-mization),BBO(Biogeography Based Optimization),PBIL(Population Based Incremental Learning),ES(Evolution Strategy),StudGA(Stud Genetic Algo-rithms),PSO(Particle Swarm Optimization),StudGA(Stud Genetic Algorithms),ES(Evolution Strategy),PSO(Particle Swarm Optimization)and ACO(Ant Col-ony Optimization)are used to tune the PID controller and Smith predictor design. The effectiveness of the suggested algorithms DMS-SA,DMS-BBO,DMS-MBBO,DMS-PBIL,DMS-StudGA,DMS-ES,DMS-ACO,and DMS-PSO for a class of dead-time structures employing PID controller and Smith predictor design controllers is illustrated using unit step set point response. When compared to other optimizations, the suggested hybrid metaheuristics approach improves the time response analysis when extended to the problem of smith predictor and PID controller designed tuning.

文摘The optimization of cognitive radio(CR)system using an enhanced firefly algorithm(EFA)is presented in this work. The Firefly algorithm(FA)is a nature-inspired algorithm based on the unique light-flashing behavior of fireflies. It has already proved its competence in various optimization prob-lems,but it suffers from slow convergence issues. To improve the convergence performance of FA,a new variant named EFA is proposed. The effectiveness of EFA as a good optimizer is demonstrated by optimizing benchmark functions, and simulation results show its superior performance compared to biogeography-based optimization(BBO),bat algorithm, artificial bee colony, and FA.As an application of this algorithm to real-world problems,EFA is also applied to optimize the CR system.CR is a revolutionary technique that uses a dynamic spectrum allocation strategy to solve the spectrum scarcity problem. However,it requires optimization to meet specific performance objectives. The results obtained by EFA in CR system optimization are compared with results in the literature of BBO,simulated annealing, and genetic algorithm.Statistical results further prove that the proposed algorithm is highly efficient and provides superior results.

文摘Accurate photovoltaic(PV)power prediction has been a subject of ongoing study in order to address grid stability concerns caused by PV output unpredictability and intermittency. This paper proposes an ultra-short-term hybrid photovoltaic power forecasting method based on a dendritic neural model(DNM)in this paper. This model is trained using improved biogeography-based optimization(IBBO),a technique that incorporates a domestication operation to increase the performance of classical biogeography-based optimization(BBO).To be more precise,a similar day selection(SDS)technique is presented for selecting the training set,and wavelet packet transform(WPT)is used to divide the input data into many components.IBBO is then used to train DNM weights and thresholds for each component prediction. Finally, each component’s prediction results are stacked and reassembled. The suggested hybrid model is used to forecast PV power under various weather conditions using data from the Desert Knowledge Australia Solar Centre(DKASC)in Alice Springs.Simulation results indicate the proposed hybrid SDS and WPT-IBBO-DNM model has the lowest error of any of the benchmark models and hence has the potential to considerably enhance the accuracy of solar power forecasting(PVPF).

文摘Purpose-The purpose of this paper is to examine and compare the entire impact of various execution skills of oppositional biogeography-based optimization using the current optimum(COOBBO)algorithm.Design/methodology/approach-The improvement measures tested in this paper include different initialization approaches, crossover approaches, local optimization approaches, and greedy approaches.Eight well-known traveling salesman problems(TSP)are employed for performance verification.Four comparison criteria are recoded and compared to analyze the contribution of each modified method.Findings-Experiment results illustrate that the combination model of“25 nearest-neighbor algorithm initialization+inver-over crossover+2-opt+all greedy”may be the best choice of all when considering both the overall algorithm performance and computation overhead.Originality/value-When solving TSP with varying scales, these modified methods can enhance the performance and efficiency of COOBBO algorithm in different degrees. And an appropriate combination model may make the fullest possible contribution.
文摘As fossil fuel stocks are being depleted, alternative sources of energy must be explored.Consequently, traditional thermal power plants must coexist with renewable resources, such as wind, solar, and hydro units, and all-day planning and operation techniques are necessary to safeguard nature while meeting the current demand. The fundamental components of contemporary power systems are the simultaneous decrease in generation costs and increase in the available transfer capacity(ATC)of current systems.Thermal units are linked to sources of renewable energy such as hydro, wind, and solar power, and are set up to run for 24 h.By contrast, new research reports that various chaotic maps are merged with various existing optimization methodologies to obtain better results than those without the inclusion of chaos.Chaos seems to increase the performance and convergence properties of existing optimization approaches. In this study, selfish animal tendencies, mathematically represented as selfish herd optimizers, were hybridized with chaotic phenomena and used to improve ATC and/or reduce generation costs, creating a multi-objective optimization problem. To evaluate the performance of the proposed hybridized optimization technique,an optimal power flow-based ATC was enforced under various hydro-thermal-solar-wind conditions, that is,the renewable energy source-thermal scheduling concept,on IEEE 9-bus,IEEE 39-bus,and Indian Northern Region Power Grid 246-bus test systems. The findings show that the proposed technique outperforms existing well-established optimization strategies.
