Research motivation:Through the 12 weeks dance therapy intervention for children with autism, the purpose is to explore the intervention model of dance therapy for children with autism and the changes in motor ability, social ability, and communication ability of children with autism after dance therapy intervention. The results of the research are expected to expand the intervention mode of dance therapy in my country and provide practical reference for rehabilitation intervention of children with autism.Research methods:24 autistic boys aged 6 to 12 with mild to moderate symptoms were recruited and screened through the Internet as the subjects of this study. We randomly divided them into experimental group(N=12)and control group(N=12).All children with autism have an autism diagnosis certificate issued by Children’s Hospital or a tertiary hospital, excluding other mental diseases(such as epilepsy, major physical disability, mental illness,no history of drugs and other interventions,etc.).We used the paired sample t-test to compare the score difference between the dance treatment group and the control group before and after the two groups, and used the observation method to record the basic communication behavior and the number of active communication behaviors in the experimental group during the intervention process. All data analysis is used in SPSS 20.0.Research results:After 12 weeks of dance therapy intervention, there were statistically significant differences in the gross movement, balance, and coordination abilities of the children in the experimental group compared with those before the intervention(p<0.01).There was no significant difference between the children in the control group(p>0.05).After 12 weeks of dance therapy intervention, there were statistically significant differences in the scores of the social response scale for children with autism in the experimental group(p<0.05).There was no significant change in the scores of each item of the SRS scale before and after intervention in the control group and the dance treatment group(p>0.05). 展开更多

The importance of breathing training in dance teaching is reflected in the two aspects of enhancing the quality of dance movements and sublimating the connotation of dance movements. For example,high-quality breathing can help performers complete the dance movements and improve the coordination of the movements;at the same time, the unique body rhythm formed by breathing can strengthen the visual effect of the performance and convey its spirit and soul to the audience. This requires folk dance teachers to carry out relevant training and teaching activities based on the categories and skills of dance breathing, such as changing students’ideological cognition, developing periodic breathing training courses, providing personalized guidance to students, and allowing students to adjust their learning and practice methods in the evaluation. 展开更多

Short, momentary, temporary, transient, precarious, and labile are adjectives that the current post-pandemic,ecological,climatic,war,political,economic,and social contingencies have accustomed us to employ almost compulsively and indiscriminately by now,and that, beyond everything, are synonyms inter-implicit with and in the ephemerality, which deserves reconsideration in its literalness as epìheméra(for a day),that can take place through a sort of its“double”,not quite mainstream but nonetheless suggestive and perhaps even effective, such as the artistic one of dance. Therefore,it is worth pausing to try and see which streaks/implications of the ephemerality itself the dance-ephemeral conveys and/or produces:the neuralgic concretions that the latter seems to me to involve and permeate,in a perspective of re-cognition/re-discovery/awareness,are time, space and the body, evidently inter-implicated. 展开更多

ONE of Hong Kong’s modern-looking neighborhoods in Wan Chai District is home to the Tai Hang Fire Dragon Dance,a folk art form with a history of over 100 years. Many years ago, this neighborhood was a village populated by a subgroup of the Han Chinese people named the Hakka, who live mainly in the provinces of Guangdong,Jiangxi, and Fujian in China and speak the Hakka language. It is said that ever since a plague swept through the village, the villagers started to perform a fire dragon dance for three days around the Mid-Autumn Festival in the eighth month of the lunar calendar every year to pray for peace. This later evolved into a festive event in Hong Kong. This tradition was included in the National Intangible Cultural Heritage List in 2011. 展开更多

Background: In this study, we examined professional folk dancer injuries which required surgery and if there are any associated factors like age, gender, dexterity, dance style and to evaluate the return to their full capacity. Materials and Methods: Seventy five members of the Fire of Anatolia dance group (mean age: 26.8 ± 5.2; 18-38 years) performers were evaluated. The dancers suffered 14 orthopedic injuries requiring surgery (3 meniscus tears, 2 anterior cruciate ligament tears one of which is with posterolateral corner tear, 1 posterior cruciate ligament tear, 1 patellar dislocation, 1 scaphoid fracture, 1 extensor tendon cut in hand, 1 infrapatellar bursitis, 2 Hoffa’s fat pad syndromes, 2 symptomatic medial plicaes) during a nine-year period. Follow-up time was 51 ± 41.9 (29.5-92) months. Results: Following surgeries, the dancers could restart rehearsals in 12.7 ± 9 (range: 4 to 36) weeks and perform live on the stage in 16.2 ± 12.2 (range: 5 to 52) weeks on average. Conclusion: Males were 8.64 times more likely to suffer an injury requiring surgery compared to the females (p = 0.003) and twelve (85.7%) of these injuries were lower extremity injuries and were all located in the knee in Anatolian folk dancers. 展开更多

Background:Neuroplasticity is a phenomenon exhibited by our nervous system as an indicator of overall development and in response to training,injury/loss of particular function,treatment/drugs and as a result of stimulation from the surrounding environment. Objective:The aim of the current study was to assess the auditory working memory capacities in Bharatanatyam dancers.Method:The participants comprised fifty-four females with normal hearing sensitivity who belonged to two groups.Group-I consisted of 27 individuals who underwent formal training in Bharatanatyam for a minimum period of three years.Group-II consisted of the age-matched control group, consisting of 27individuals who were non-dancers.The auditory working memory tasks included arranging the English digits presented binaurally in forward, backward, ascending, and descending spans. The maximum values(for the length of sequence arranged),midpoint values(average score),and response time for each task were noted down and compared among groups. Results:The scores were compared using the Mann-Whitney U test, which revealed enhanced working memory exhibited by dancers for maximum values and midpoint scores for all three tasks except ascending span.It was also noted that the dancers exhibited a shorter response time compared to nondancers for all the tasks except ascending span. Conclusion:The current study highlights an enhanced auditory working memory capacity in Bharatanatyam dancers, which could be perceived as evidence of neuroplastic changes induced in the auditory and motor cortex as a consequence of extensive stimulation for auditory processing abilities and motor planning resulting from long-term dance training and regular practice. 展开更多

It is an indispensable source of Chinese classical dance, court dance and professional dance creation. Chinese folk dances are characterized by unpretentiousness, diverse forms, rich content, and vivid images. But these require professional dancers to express through professional training. Even amateur dances need to be completed through well-trained and emotionally full actors.⑴ In the process of training, in addition to the necessary basic skills and other physical training, we also need to train the demeanor. We often say that the eyes are the windows of the soul, and the folk dance is more about expressing a feeling to the audience. If the dancer don't have a good performance and face expression, he or she can't express the dance work at all. Therefore, this article takes the training of national folk dance as the starting point, combining technical training, stage perfonnance, professional dancers and amateur dancers, taking the Uygur as an example. 展开更多
