One caseinolytic protease clear band was observed in zy...The present study describes the characterization of crude protease extract from Arthrobacter arilaitensis Re117 and its evaluation in solid and liquid detergent. One caseinolytic protease clear band was observed in zymogram. The crude alkaline protease showed optimum activity at pH 9.0 and 50°C, and it was highly stable over a wide range of pH from 8.0 to 9.0. Proteolytic enzymes showed extreme stability towards non-ionic surfactants (Tween 80, Tween 20 and Triton X-100) and stimulate activity towards oxidizing agents such as sodium perborate. They also showed high stability and compatibility with various laundry solid detergents from Tunisian market. The protease of A. arilaitensis Re117, was also tested for shrimp waste deproteinization to produce chitin. The protein removal with a ratio E/S of 20 was about 83%. The novelties of the Re117 protease include its high stability to organic solvents and surfactants. These unique properties make it an ideal choice for application in detergent formulations and enzymatic peptide synthesis. In addition, the enzyme may find potential applications in the deproteinization of shrimp wastes to produce chitin.展开更多

Microbiological test (Delvotest SP-NT) and three rapid tests (Charm 3 MRL BL/TET2, Charm ROSA MRL BL/TET and Penzym) were used in the study. Three concentrations (recommended by the manufacturer, 10 times lower and twice higher) of 36 detergents and disinfectants in raw milk were investigated. All methods did not detect concentrations of detergents and disinfectants of alkaline and acid origin 10 times lower than recommended by the manufacturer. 39% of the investigated substances of alkaline origin were detected by Delvotest SP-NT and Penzym;Charm tests showed non-typical results only. Delvotest SP-NT did not detect substances of acid origin;Penzym detected 50% of these substances, Charm tests showed only non-typical results. Delvotest SP-NT and Penzym appeared to be more sensitive to the substances used for teat hygiene and disinfection. The scope of rapid tests (receptor or enzymatic) does not cover the detection of detergent and disinfectant re- sidues in milk. However, according to the non-typical results of the test, it is possible to suspect the presence of these substances in milk. McNemar’s and Cochran’s Q tests were used for statistical analysis of the data.展开更多

Astyanax altiparanae is pelagic and active swimmer specie and can have serious implications on its way of life as changes in muscle structure of fish may occur since the presence of pollutants in the water. In this study we analyze the alterations in Muscle and collagen fibers of the pectoral muscles and pollutants exposed flows contained in water with biodegradable detergents, and water coming from the Blue Lake, River clear-SP (2o24'39"S, 47o33'39"E) diluted. Effects of these exposures were analyzed during the period of seven and thirty days. Compared with acclimatized fish (Astyanax altiparanae) with pure water from an artesian well, the muscle fibers morphology and collagen concentration on them have changed due to the exposure to urban pollutants and biodegradable detergents.展开更多

Calcium from detergents is digested in the tribofilm. This manuscript reports the study of the commercial and laboratory prepared pine oil-based detergents employing the critical micelle concentration (CMC) phenomenon using conductivity measurements. The two samples showed the CMC values of 0.0725 g/cm3 and 0.0920 g/cm3 for laboratory and commercial samples respectively. The effect of ionic strength was investigated using NaCl and it demonstrated a drop of CMC value of about CMC by 40% (laboratory sample) and 70% (commercial sample) while the equi-molar naphthalene increased the CMC values by about 50% (laboratory sample) and 12% (commercial sample) relative to their corresponding values under distilled water. The combined effect of equi-molar NaCl and naphthalene lowered the CMC by 5% (laboratory sample) and 30% (commercial sample). These differences could signify the superiority of the laboratory sample in that it is somehow buffered against drastic changes in the CMC under different conditions. The relationship between conductivity and the CMC values does not show sufficient linearity (R2 < 0.8403) suggesting different mechanisms of interactions between NaCl and naphthalene. Overall, the results are gratifying to the small-scale manufacturer who supplied the preparation protocol for laboratory sample preparation, in two respects: they inspire some degree of confidence in his product as well as enabling the manufacturer to employ the same protocol for his quality control practices as such improve product consistency and hence profitability.展开更多

However, the influence of these conditions on CMC or aggregation number is a priori not to predict, but the most important parameter. This holds especially for the aggregation number. Here, we present a simple, reliable and fast method for the analysis of detergent containing buffer systems. It enables the determination of CMC values and aggregation numbers of detergents as well as detergent mixtures in a 96well plate standard device relying on steady state fluorescence and fluorescence quenching. To prove the general applicability of our approach, we analyzed DDM as a prime example of a detergent and mixtures of DDM with six other detergents at different ratios to demonstrate the potential of our method.展开更多

Substances absorbed by animals, such as t...Indiscriminate disposal of residues of domestic and/or industrial origin in aquatic ecosystems resulting from urban activities causes concern about their effects on the fauna. Substances absorbed by animals, such as those cited above, are metabolized by the liver, as it is the main target organ of several pollutants and also exercises basic vital functions in the organism. For this reason the liver is used as the main and most reliable biomarker in environmental studies. Thus the objective of the present study was to identify hepatic alterations resulting from exposure to water contaminated by a few commercial brands of biodegradable detergents and their effects when present together with several other contaminants found in nature. For such, a solution of 1 ppm of biodegradable detergents and water from an urban lake were tested on two widely distributed native Brazilian fish (Astyanax altiparanae and Prochilodus lineatus). Several alterations were found on the liver, including cytoplasm vacuolization, nuclear displacement, macrophage recruitment and reduced liver glycogen, showing a degenerative process in the liver of the fish, due to the action of contaminants.展开更多

The present study demonstrated that the singlet excited state lifetime is associated with the detergents n-dodecyl-β-D- maltoside (DDM) and n-octyl-β-D-glucopyranoside (β-OG), but has nothing to do with the different sources of Cyt b6f complexes. Compared with the Cyt b6f dissolved in β-OG, the Cyt b6f in DDM had a lower fluorescence yield, a lower photodegradation rate of Chl a, and a shorter lifetime of Chl a excited state. In short, the singlet excited state lifetime, ~200 ps, of the Chl a in Cyt b6f complex in DDM is closer to the true in vivo.展开更多

The influences of reaction conditions on the viscosity average molecular weight were studied. The critical value of synthetic PAA Na inhibiting the precipitation of CaCO 3 was determined and compared with that of other common builders. It is confirmed from SEM graphs that PAA Na can make CaCO 3 crystal defective. Washing tests show synthetic PAA Na can partially replace sodium tripolyphosphate (STPP) and is a potential polymeric detergent builder in low phosphate powder detergents.展开更多

For this reason the liver is used as the main and most reliable biomarker in environmental studies. Thus the objective of the present study was to identify hepatic alterations resulting from exposure to water contaminated by a few commercial brands of biodegradable detergents and their effects when present together with several other contaminants found in nature. For such, a solution of 1 ppm of biodegradable detergents and water from an urban lake were tested on two widely distributed native Brazilian fish (Astyanax altiparanae and Prochilodus lineatus). Several alterations were found on the liver, including cytoplasm vacuolization, nuclear displacement, macrophage recruitment and reduced liver glycogen, showing a degenerative process in the liver of the fish, due to the action of contaminants.

文摘Aiming at the kitchen stain and fast growth of dishwasher market in China,the addition of protease and amylase solution in the dishwasher detergents was proposed for the food stains typical in China.A comparison between Chinese commercial dishwasher detergents and an EU mainstream detergent was made.The results indicated that the addition of protease and amylase could significantly increase the washing performance,and thus could help close the washing performance gap between our products and the EU mainstream product.

文摘This study evaluates the single droplet drying(SDD)of detergents.Experimental data are used to validate a theoretical multistage model.The experiments are carried out in an acoustic levitator analysing six different detergent formulations at 393 K.The work is completed by developing a model based on conservation equations.The model is composed of the three stages observed in the drying curve.In the first stage,an external surface drying stage occurs until the surface is saturated and the crust is formed.In the next stage,the drying rate is governed by diffusion through the pores.At the same time,the particle heats up until boiling conditions are achieved in the core of the particle.At this point,the third stage begins.In the final stage,the droplet core is in boiling conditions which are governed by the pressure drop through the crust and the concentration of salts.This model has been evaluated for the different formulations being flexible to predict the drying of different mixtures with good accuracy.

文摘The singlet excited state lifetime of the chlorophyll a (Chl a) in cytochrome b6f (Cyt b6f) complex was reported to be shorter than that of free Chl a in methanol, but the value was different for Cyt b6f com-plexes from different sources (~200 and ~600 ps are the two measured results). The present study demonstrated that the singlet excited state lifetime is associated with the detergents n-dodecyl-β-D- maltoside (DDM) and n-octyl-β-D-glucopyranoside (β-OG), but has nothing to do with the different sources of Cyt b6f complexes. Compared with the Cyt b6f dissolved in β-OG, the Cyt b6f in DDM had a lower fluorescence yield, a lower photodegradation rate of Chl a, and a shorter lifetime of Chl a excited state. In short, the singlet excited state lifetime, ~200 ps, of the Chl a in Cyt b6f complex in DDM is closer to the true in vivo.
文摘The low molecular weight polyacrylate sodium (PAA Na) detergent builder was synthesized with K 2S 2O 8 as initiator in a neutral aqueous medium. The influences of reaction conditions on the viscosity average molecular weight were studied. The critical value of synthetic PAA Na inhibiting the precipitation of CaCO 3 was determined and compared with that of other common builders. It is confirmed from SEM graphs that PAA Na can make CaCO 3 crystal defective. Washing tests show synthetic PAA Na can partially replace sodium tripolyphosphate (STPP) and is a potential polymeric detergent builder in low phosphate powder detergents.
