BACKGROUND The prevalence of non-alcoholic fatty liver(NAFLD)has increased recently.Subjects with NAFLD are known to have higher chance for renal function impairment.Many past studies used traditional multiple linear ...BACKGROUND The prevalence of non-alcoholic fatty liver(NAFLD)has increased recently.Subjects with NAFLD are known to have higher chance for renal function impairment.Many past studies used traditional multiple linear regression(MLR)to identify risk factors for decreased estimated glomerular filtration rate(eGFR).However,medical research is increasingly relying on emerging machine learning(Mach-L)methods.The present study enrolled healthy women to identify factors affecting eGFR in subjects with and without NAFLD(NAFLD+,NAFLD-)and to rank their importance.AIM To uses three different Mach-L methods to identify key impact factors for eGFR in healthy women with and without NAFLD.METHODS A total of 65535 healthy female study participants were enrolled from the Taiwan MJ cohort,accounting for 32 independent variables including demographic,biochemistry and lifestyle parameters(independent variables),while eGFR was used as the dependent variable.Aside from MLR,three Mach-L methods were applied,including stochastic gradient boosting,eXtreme gradient boosting and elastic net.Errors of estimation were used to define method accuracy,where smaller degree of error indicated better model performance.RESULTS Income,albumin,eGFR,High density lipoprotein-Cholesterol,phosphorus,forced expiratory volume in one second(FEV1),and sleep time were all lower in the NAFLD+group,while other factors were all significantly higher except for smoking area.Mach-L had lower estimation errors,thus outperforming MLR.In Model 1,age,uric acid(UA),FEV1,plasma calcium level(Ca),plasma albumin level(Alb)and T-bilirubin were the most important factors in the NAFLD+group,as opposed to age,UA,FEV1,Alb,lactic dehydrogenase(LDH)and Ca for the NAFLD-group.Given the importance percentage was much higher than the 2nd important factor,we built Model 2 by removing age.CONCLUSION The eGFR were lower in the NAFLD+group compared to the NAFLD-group,with age being was the most important impact factor in both groups of healthy Chinese women,followed by LDH,UA,FEV1 and Alb.However,for the NAFLD-group,TSH and SBP were the 5th and 6th most important factors,as opposed to Ca and BF in the NAFLD+group.展开更多
BACKGROUND Aging population is a significant issue in Viet Nam and across the globe.Elderly individuals are at higher risk of chronic kidney disease(CKD),especially those with diabetes.Several studies found that the e...BACKGROUND Aging population is a significant issue in Viet Nam and across the globe.Elderly individuals are at higher risk of chronic kidney disease(CKD),especially those with diabetes.Several studies found that the estimated glomerular filtration rate(eGFR)determined using creatinine-based equations was not as accurate as that determined using cystatin C-based equations.Cystatin C-based equations may be beneficial in elderly patients with an age-associated decline in kidney function.Early determination of eGFR decline and associated factors would aid in appropriate interventions to improve kidney function in elderly patients with diabetes.AIM To determine the utility of cystatin C-based equations in early detection of eGFR decline and to explore factors associated with eGFR decline in elderly patients with diabetes.METHODS This cross-sectional study included 93 participants aged≥60 years evaluated in Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital between October 2022 and July 2023,including 47 and 46 participants with and without diabetes respectively,according to the American Diabetes Association criteria for diabetes.The kappa coefficient,Student’s t,Mann-Whitney,χ2,Pearson’s correlation,multivariate logistic regression,and multiple linear regression analyses were employed.RESULTS The eGFRs were lower with the cystatin C-based equations than with the creatinine-based equations.Good agreement was found between the Modification of Diet in Renal Disease(MDRD)and CKD Epidemiology Collaboration(CKD-EPI)2021 creatinine-cystatin C equations(kappa=0.66).In the diabetes group,30%of the participants had low eGFR.Both plasma glucose and glycated hemoglobin were associated with an increased risk of eGFR decline(P<0.05)and negatively correlated with eGFR(P=0.001).By multivariate logistic regression,total cholesterol,and exercise were independently associated with low eGFR.By multiple linear regression,higher plasma glucose levels were correlated with lower eGFR(P=0.026,r=-0.366).CONCLUSION Cystatin C-based equations were superior in the early detection of a decline in eGFR,and the MDRD equation may be considered as an alternative to the CKD-EPI 2021 creatinine-cystatin C equation.Exercise,plasma glucose,and total cholesterol were independently associated with eGFR in patients with diabetes.展开更多
For the n-qubit stochastic open quantum systems,based on the Lyapunov stability theorem and LaSalle’s invariant set principle,a pure state switching control based on on-line estimated state feedback(short for OQST-SF...For the n-qubit stochastic open quantum systems,based on the Lyapunov stability theorem and LaSalle’s invariant set principle,a pure state switching control based on on-line estimated state feedback(short for OQST-SFC)is proposed to realize the state transition the pure state of the target state including eigenstate and superposition state.The proposed switching control consists of a constant control and a control law designed based on the Lyapunov method,in which the Lyapunov function is the state distance of the system.The constant control is used to drive the system state from an initial state to the convergence domain only containing the target state,and a Lyapunov-based control is used to make the state enter the convergence domain and then continue to converge to the target state.At the same time,the continuous weak measurement of quantum system and the quantum state tomography method based on the on-line alternating direction multiplier(QST-OADM)are used to obtain the system information and estimate the quantum state which is used as the input of the quantum system controller.Then,the pure state feedback switching control method based on the on-line estimated state feedback is realized in an n-qubit stochastic open quantum system.The complete derivation process of n-qubit QST-OADM algorithm is given;Through strict theoretical proof and analysis,the convergence conditions to ensure any initial state of the quantum system to converge the target pure state are given.The proposed control method is applied to a 2-qubit stochastic open quantum system for numerical simulation experiments.Four possible different position cases between the initial estimated state and that of the controlled system are studied and discussed,and the performances of the state transition under the corresponding cases are analyzed.展开更多
The estimated ultimate recovery(EUR)of shale gas wells is influenced by many factors,and the accurate prediction still faces certain challenges.As an artificial intelligence algorithm,deep learning yields notable adva...The estimated ultimate recovery(EUR)of shale gas wells is influenced by many factors,and the accurate prediction still faces certain challenges.As an artificial intelligence algorithm,deep learning yields notable advantages in nonlinear regression.Therefore,it is feasible to predict the EUR of shale gas wells based on a deep-learning algorithm.In this paper,according to geological evaluation data,hydraulic fracturing data,production data and EUR evaluation results of 282 wells in the WY shale gas field,a deep-learning-based algorithm for EUR evaluation of shale gas wells was designed and realized.First,the existing EUR evaluation methods of shale gas wells and the deep feedforward neural network algorithm was systematically analyzed.Second,the technical process of a deep-learning-based algorithm for EUR prediction of shale gas wells was designed.Finally,by means of real data obtained from the WY shale gas field,several different cases were applied to testify the validity and accuracy of the proposed approach.The results show that the EUR prediction with high accuracy.In addition,the results are affected by the variety and number of input parameters,the network structure and hyperparameters.The proposed approach can be extended to other shale fields using the similar technic process.展开更多

It is also confirmed by laboratory experiments on ultrasonics and theoretical derivations assuming diffusive wave field, equi-partition of modes or random sources on an enclosed surface. This method provides a new approach to study the crust and mantle structure at regional scale, continental scale and global scale. Following the achievements with seismometer records, the records of infrasonic station, hydrophone and microphone were also used to obtain the EGFs of different wave fields. Since superconducting gravimeter is a better long period instrument than regular seismometer, EGF at longer period is expected to be obtained with the cross correlation of gravity data. In this paper, we will show the EGFs extracted by cross-correlations between the superconducting gravimeters and the seismometers. Both the travel times and dispersion curves obtained from different data types are consistent. The result shows that it is possible to retrieve the deep structure by the cross correlation of gravity data.展开更多

METHODS: From January 2004 to October 2008, the records of 4127...AIM: To incorporate estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) into the model for end-stage liver disease (MELD) score to evaluate the predictive value. METHODS: From January 2004 to October 2008, the records of 4127 admitted cirrhotic patients were reviewed. Patients who survived and were followed up as outpatients were defined as survivors and their most recent available laboratory data were collected. Patients whose records indicated death at any time during the hospital stay were defined as non-survivors (in-hospital mortality). Patients with incomplete data or with cirrhosis due to a congenital abnormality such as primary biliary cirrhosis were excluded; thus, a total of 3857 patients were enrolled in the present study. The eGFR, which was calculated by using either the modification of diet in renal disease (MDRD) equation or the chronic kidney disease epidemiology collaboration (CKD-EPI) equation, was incorporated into the MELD score after adjustment with the original MELD equation by logistic regression analysis [bilirubin and international normalized ratio (INR) were set at 1.0 for values less than 1.0]. RESULTS: Patients defined as survivors were significantly younger, had a lower incidence of hepatoma, lower Child-Pugh and MELD scores, and better renal function. The underlying causes of cirrhosis were very different from those in Western countries. In Taiwan, most cirrhotic patients were associated with the hepatitis virus, especially hepatitis B. There were 16 parameters included in univariate logistic regression analysis to predict in-hospital mortality and those with significant predicting values were included in further multivariate analysis. Both 4-variable MDRD eGFR and 6-variable MDRD eGFR, rather than creatinine, were significant predictors of in-hospital mortality. Three new equations were constructed (MELD-MDRD-4, MELD-MDRD-6, MELD-CKD-EPI). As expected, original MELD score was a significant predictor of in-hospital mortality (odds ratio = 1.25, P < 0.001). MELD-MDRD-4 excluded serum creatinine, with the coefficients refit among the remaining 3 variables, i.e., total bilirubin, INR and 4-variable MDRD eGFR. This model represented an exacerbated outcome over MELD score, as suggested by a decrease in chi-square (2161.45 vs 2198.32) and an increase in -2 log (likelihood) (2810.77 vs 2773.90). MELD-MDRD-6 included 6-variable MDRD eGFR as one of the variables and showed an improvement over MELD score, as suggested by an increase in chi-square (2293.82 vs 2198.32) and a decrease in -2 log (likelihood) (2810.77 vs 2664.79). Finally, when serum creatinine was replaced by CKD-EPI eGFR, it showed a slight improvement compared to the original MELD score (chi-square: 2199.16, -2 log (likelihood): 2773.07). In the receiver-operating characteristic curve, the MELD-MDRD-6 score showed a marginal improvement in area under the curve (0.909 vs 0.902), sensitivity (0.854 vs 0.819) and specificity (0.818 vs 0.839) compared to the original MELD equation. In patients with a different eGFR, the MELD-MDRD-6 equation showed a better predictive value in patients with eGFR ≥ 90, 60-89, 30-59 and 15-29. CONCLUSION: Incorporating eGFR obtained by the 6-variable MDRD equation into the MELD score showed an equal predictive performance in in-hospital mortality compared to a creatinine-based MELD score.展开更多
Objective We aimed to clarify the association between estimated pulse wave velocity(ePWV)and the changes in ePWV with all-cause mortality among middle-aged and elderly Chinese.Methods Data were obtained from the China...Objective We aimed to clarify the association between estimated pulse wave velocity(ePWV)and the changes in ePWV with all-cause mortality among middle-aged and elderly Chinese.Methods Data were obtained from the China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study(CHARLS)from 2011-2018.The ePWV was calculated using an equation that included age and mean blood pressure(MBP).The ΔePWV was assessed as the difference in ePWV between the first two waves.Cox proportional hazard models were used to determine the association between ePWV and ΔePWV with all-cause mortality after adjustment for potential confounders.Results Of 13,116 participants during a median follow-up of 7.0 years,1,356 deaths occurred.An increased ePWV was independently associated with all-cause mortality.The hazard ratio[95% confidence interval(CI)]for participants from the 1^(st)-4^(th) quartile groups was 1.00,1.69(1.31-2.18),3.09(2.44-3.91),and 8.54(6.78-10.75),respectively.Each standard deviation(SD)increment of ePWV increased the risk of all-cause mortality by 132%.Furthermore,theΔePWV was significantly associated with a 1.28-fold(95%CI,1.18-1.38)risk of all-cause mortality per SD increment.Conclusion This cohort study provided novel evidence from a Chinese population that an increased ePWV or progression of the ePWV was independently associated with all-cause mortality,which highlighted the importance of mitigating ePWV progression in clinical practice.展开更多

We used data of 376 men and 794 women who were not taking any medications, aged 20 - 78 years, in this cross- sectional investigation study. eGFR was calcu-lated using serum creatinine (Cr), age and sex. Habitual coffee consumption was defined as drinking one or more cups of coffee per day. Two hundred thirty three men (62.0%) and 400 women (50.4%) were subjects with habitual coffee consumption (coffee consumption 1 cup/ day ≥). eGFR was negatively correlated with age (men: r = –0.533, women: r = –624). eGFR in subjects with coffee consumers was not significantly different from that in subjects without coffee consumers after adjusting for age in both sexes (men: p = 0.1375, women: p = 0.2069). Among Japanese not taking medications, coffee consumption was not associated with eGFR in the Japanese population.展开更多

We used data for 108 Japanese men (45.3 ± 8.0 years) with a 1-year follow up. eGFR was defined by a new equation developed for Japan. eGFR was weakly correlated with serum uric acid levels (r = –0.287, p = 0.0026) at baseline. Subjects were given advice for dietary and life-style improvement. At the 1-year follow up, almost metabolic syndrome components were significantly improved. However, blood sugar and uric acid did not change and eGFR was significantly decreased. The changes in eGFR were weakly correlated with abdominal circum-ference (r = –0.249, p = 0.0094) and uric acid (r = –0.340, p = 0.0003). A decrease in serum uric acid levels may be associated with improving eGFR in Japanese men.展开更多

For the purpose of this research the rules were used to separate potential inhibitors of HIV-1 integrase (1BIS.pdb) into two groups: drug-like and nondrug-like. If one of Lipinski’s “Rule of Five” was not followed the potential inhibitor was classified as nondrug-like. Thirty molecules were identified from the literature, twenty-four drug-like and six nondrug-like, that were docked into the active site of 1BIS.pdb (considered the non-mutated protein) and two mutant models, Y143R and N155H. These are two of the mutations that have led to increased resistance to HIV-1 integrase drugs such as raltegravir and elvitegravir. The computational software, ICM-Pro (Molsoft L.L.C.), was used to determine the estimated binding energy (EBE) of the drug/protein complex. It was found that the nondrug-like molecules generally had a more negative EBE, that is, tighter binding with 1BIS. pdb, though there were several exceptions in the drug-like group. With the protein mutant model Y143R, the majority of drug-like (58%) and nondrug-like molecules (67%) had tighter binding. However, for the mutant model N155H, there was the same percent (46%) of drug-like molecules with tighter binding with the mutant model as with 1BIS.pdb. The drug-like molecules were used when there was a ≥1 kcal/mole difference between 1BIS.pdb and either of the two mutant models to suggest a pharmacophore with structural characteristics for an HIV-1 integrase inhibitor.展开更多

METHODS This retrospective study included 11...AIM To evaluate and compare the outcomes of kidney transplant(KT) from deceased donors among standard criteria, acute kidney injury(AKI) and expanded criteria donors(ECDs). METHODS This retrospective study included 111 deceased donor kidney transplant recipients(DDKT). Deceased donors were classified as standard criteria donor(SCD), AKI donor and ECD. AKI was diagnosed and classified based on change of serum Cr by acute kidney injury network(AKIN) criteria. Primary outcome was one-year estimated glomerular filtration rate(eG FR) calculated from Cr by CKD-EPI. Multivariate regression analysis was done by adjusting factors such as type of DDKT, %Panel-reactive antibodies, cold ischemic time, the presence of delayed graft function and the use of induction therapy. Significantfactors that can affect the primary outcomes were then identified. RESULTS ECD group had a significantly lower eG FR at one year(33.9 ± 17.3 mL /min) when compared with AKI group(56.6 ± 23.9) and SCD group(63.6 ± 19.9)(P < 0.001). For AKI group, one-year eG FR was also indifferent among AKIN stage 1, 2 or 3. Patients with AKIN stage 3 had progressive increase of eG FR from 49.6 ± 27.2 at discharge to 61.9 ± 29.0 mL /min at one year. From Kaplan-Meier analysis, AKI donor showed better two-year graft survival than ECD(100% vs 88.5%, P = 0.006). Interestingly, AKI group had a stable eG FR at one and two year. The two-year eG FR of AKI group was not significantly different from SCD group(56.6 ± 24.5 mL /min vs 58.6 ± 23.2 mL /min, P = 0.65). CONCLUSION Kidney transplantations from deceased donors with variable stage of acute kidney injuries were associated with favorable two-year allograft function. The outcomes were comparable with KT from SCD. This information supports the option that deceased donors with AKI are an important source of organ for kidney transplantation even in the presence of stage 3 AKI.展开更多

The aim of this study was to compare GFR estimated by various prediction equations with GFR by creatinine clearance (GFRer) in Bangladeshi population. Serum creatinine and 24 hours urinary creatinine concentrations were measured in 216 adult Bangladeshi subjects (100 males and 116 females). Creatinine clearance rate was calculated and adjusted for body surface area to obtain GFRcr. GFR was also calculated by CKD-EPI, MDRD4, Cockcroft-Gault, Jelliffe, Mawer, Bjornsson, Gates, Apollo-Chennai and Mayo Clinic prediction equations and compared with GFRcr. Results were expressed as mean + SD and compared by two-tailed paired t-test, precision (r2) and receiver-operating characteristic curve. Mean ± SD of age of the total subjects was 57.15 ±10.96 years. The mean GFILzr was 42.41 ± 22.95 mL/min/1.73m2. Estimated GFR (eGFR) by CKD-EPI, MDRD4, Cockcroft-Gault, Jelliffc 1, Jelliffe 2, Mawer, Bjornsson, Gates, Apollo-Chennai and Mayo Clinic prediction equations were 8.19 ± 13.80, 5.30 ±13.61, 11.54 ± 16.86, 8.66± 18.64, 17.25 ± 19.98, 10.86 ± 22.48, 14.60 ± 17.92, 12.18 ± 16.42, 39.86 ± 21.96 and 20.47 ± 20.49 mL/min/1.73m2 higher than GFR, (P 〈 0.001). The precision (r2) of eGFRs were 0.7114, 0.6924, 0.6431, 0.4802, 0.5048, 0.5921, 0.6286, 0.6158, 0.1635, and 0.5586 for CKD-EPI, MDRD4, Cockcroft-Gault, Jelliffe 1, Jelliffe 2, Mawer, Bjornsson, Gates, Apollo-Chennai and Mayo Clinic prediction equations, respectively. The area under receiver-operating characteristic curve was the lowest for MDRD4 equation. This study revealed that GFR estimated by standardized MDRD4 variables equation is closer to creatinine clearance rate in the study population.展开更多

An approximate formula for the prediction of downwind position that produces the MGLC of a pollutant based on the Gaussian formula was derived for different diffusion parameters. The derived formula was used to calculate the approximate MGLC. The actual and estimated values are presented in tables. The comparison between the actual and estimated values was investigated through the calculation of the relative errors. The values of the relative errors between the actual and estimated MGLC lie in the range from: 0 to 70.2 and 0 to 1.6 for Pasquill Gifford system and Klug system respectively. The errors between the actual and estimated location of the MGLC lies in the range from: 0.2 to 227 and 0.7 to 9.4 for Pasquill Gifford system and Klug system respectively.展开更多

In this study, emphasis...Linear mixed model (LMM) approaches have been widely applied in many areas of research data analysis because they offer great flexibility for different data structures and linear model systems. In this study, emphasis is placed on comparing the properties of two LMM approaches: restricted maximum likelihood (REML) and minimum norm quadratic unbiased estimation (MINQUE) with and without resampling techniques being included. Bias, testing power, Type I error, and computing time were compared between REML and MINQUE approaches with and without Jackknife technique based on 500 simulated data sets. Results showed that MINQUE and REML methods performed equally regarding bias, Type I error, and power. Jackknife-based MINQUE and REML greatly improved power compared to non-Jackknife based linear mixed model approaches. Results also showed that MINQUE is more time-saving compared to REML, especially with the use of resampling techniques and large data set analysis. Results from the actual cotton data analysis were in agreement with our simulated results. Therefore, Jackknife-based MINQUE approaches could be recommended to achieve desirable power with reduced time for a large data analysis and model simulations.展开更多

However, for various reasons, especially, the complexity of the geology, and the ore bodies, the deposits became gradually known as development and exploitation took place. There is a certain difference between the prospecting and mining, which will have a great impact on both geological and cutoff grade at the stage of geological mine construction and production. As much accurate information as possible on the spatial distribution patterns of ore bodies and global reserves is essential to improve the production efficiency and reduce production cost. The 10-9 ore body of Lutangba in the Gejiu Tin Deposits was selected as our research object, using a log Kriging and an inverse distance weighing method. In our paper the results are compared with the reserves calculated by the polygonal block method. The global estimate and estimation errors associated with each estimation method are discussed.展开更多
Despite increasing alarms over the health impacts of microplastics(MPs)due to their detection in human organs and feces,precise exposure evaluations remain scarce.To comprehend their risks,there is a distinct need to ...Despite increasing alarms over the health impacts of microplastics(MPs)due to their detection in human organs and feces,precise exposure evaluations remain scarce.To comprehend their risks,there is a distinct need to prioritize quantitive estimates in MP exposome,particularly at the environmentallyrealistic level.Here we used a method rooted in real-world MP measurements and activity patterns to determine the daily intake of MPs through inhalation and from ground dust/soil ingestion.We found that nearly 80%of this intake comes from residential sectors,with activity intensity and behavioral types significantly affecting the human MP burden.The data showed a peak in MP exposure for those aged 18-64.When compared to dietary MP intake sources like seafood,salt,and water,we identified a previously underestimated exposure from inhalation and dust/soil ingestion,emphasizing the need for more realistic evaluations that incorporate activity factors.This discovery raises questions about the accuracy of past studies and underscores MP's potential health risks.Moreover,our time-based simulations revealed increased MP intake during the COVID-19 lockdown due to more surface dust ingestion,shedding light on how global health crises may inadvertently elevate MP exposure risks.展开更多

文摘BACKGROUND The prevalence of non-alcoholic fatty liver(NAFLD)has increased recently.Subjects with NAFLD are known to have higher chance for renal function impairment.Many past studies used traditional multiple linear regression(MLR)to identify risk factors for decreased estimated glomerular filtration rate(eGFR).However,medical research is increasingly relying on emerging machine learning(Mach-L)methods.The present study enrolled healthy women to identify factors affecting eGFR in subjects with and without NAFLD(NAFLD+,NAFLD-)and to rank their importance.AIM To uses three different Mach-L methods to identify key impact factors for eGFR in healthy women with and without NAFLD.METHODS A total of 65535 healthy female study participants were enrolled from the Taiwan MJ cohort,accounting for 32 independent variables including demographic,biochemistry and lifestyle parameters(independent variables),while eGFR was used as the dependent variable.Aside from MLR,three Mach-L methods were applied,including stochastic gradient boosting,eXtreme gradient boosting and elastic net.Errors of estimation were used to define method accuracy,where smaller degree of error indicated better model performance.RESULTS Income,albumin,eGFR,High density lipoprotein-Cholesterol,phosphorus,forced expiratory volume in one second(FEV1),and sleep time were all lower in the NAFLD+group,while other factors were all significantly higher except for smoking area.Mach-L had lower estimation errors,thus outperforming MLR.In Model 1,age,uric acid(UA),FEV1,plasma calcium level(Ca),plasma albumin level(Alb)and T-bilirubin were the most important factors in the NAFLD+group,as opposed to age,UA,FEV1,Alb,lactic dehydrogenase(LDH)and Ca for the NAFLD-group.Given the importance percentage was much higher than the 2nd important factor,we built Model 2 by removing age.CONCLUSION The eGFR were lower in the NAFLD+group compared to the NAFLD-group,with age being was the most important impact factor in both groups of healthy Chinese women,followed by LDH,UA,FEV1 and Alb.However,for the NAFLD-group,TSH and SBP were the 5th and 6th most important factors,as opposed to Ca and BF in the NAFLD+group.
文摘BACKGROUND Aging population is a significant issue in Viet Nam and across the globe.Elderly individuals are at higher risk of chronic kidney disease(CKD),especially those with diabetes.Several studies found that the estimated glomerular filtration rate(eGFR)determined using creatinine-based equations was not as accurate as that determined using cystatin C-based equations.Cystatin C-based equations may be beneficial in elderly patients with an age-associated decline in kidney function.Early determination of eGFR decline and associated factors would aid in appropriate interventions to improve kidney function in elderly patients with diabetes.AIM To determine the utility of cystatin C-based equations in early detection of eGFR decline and to explore factors associated with eGFR decline in elderly patients with diabetes.METHODS This cross-sectional study included 93 participants aged≥60 years evaluated in Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital between October 2022 and July 2023,including 47 and 46 participants with and without diabetes respectively,according to the American Diabetes Association criteria for diabetes.The kappa coefficient,Student’s t,Mann-Whitney,χ2,Pearson’s correlation,multivariate logistic regression,and multiple linear regression analyses were employed.RESULTS The eGFRs were lower with the cystatin C-based equations than with the creatinine-based equations.Good agreement was found between the Modification of Diet in Renal Disease(MDRD)and CKD Epidemiology Collaboration(CKD-EPI)2021 creatinine-cystatin C equations(kappa=0.66).In the diabetes group,30%of the participants had low eGFR.Both plasma glucose and glycated hemoglobin were associated with an increased risk of eGFR decline(P<0.05)and negatively correlated with eGFR(P=0.001).By multivariate logistic regression,total cholesterol,and exercise were independently associated with low eGFR.By multiple linear regression,higher plasma glucose levels were correlated with lower eGFR(P=0.026,r=-0.366).CONCLUSION Cystatin C-based equations were superior in the early detection of a decline in eGFR,and the MDRD equation may be considered as an alternative to the CKD-EPI 2021 creatinine-cystatin C equation.Exercise,plasma glucose,and total cholesterol were independently associated with eGFR in patients with diabetes.

文摘For the n-qubit stochastic open quantum systems,based on the Lyapunov stability theorem and LaSalle’s invariant set principle,a pure state switching control based on on-line estimated state feedback(short for OQST-SFC)is proposed to realize the state transition the pure state of the target state including eigenstate and superposition state.The proposed switching control consists of a constant control and a control law designed based on the Lyapunov method,in which the Lyapunov function is the state distance of the system.The constant control is used to drive the system state from an initial state to the convergence domain only containing the target state,and a Lyapunov-based control is used to make the state enter the convergence domain and then continue to converge to the target state.At the same time,the continuous weak measurement of quantum system and the quantum state tomography method based on the on-line alternating direction multiplier(QST-OADM)are used to obtain the system information and estimate the quantum state which is used as the input of the quantum system controller.Then,the pure state feedback switching control method based on the on-line estimated state feedback is realized in an n-qubit stochastic open quantum system.The complete derivation process of n-qubit QST-OADM algorithm is given;Through strict theoretical proof and analysis,the convergence conditions to ensure any initial state of the quantum system to converge the target pure state are given.The proposed control method is applied to a 2-qubit stochastic open quantum system for numerical simulation experiments.Four possible different position cases between the initial estimated state and that of the controlled system are studied and discussed,and the performances of the state transition under the corresponding cases are analyzed.

文摘The estimated ultimate recovery(EUR)of shale gas wells is influenced by many factors,and the accurate prediction still faces certain challenges.As an artificial intelligence algorithm,deep learning yields notable advantages in nonlinear regression.Therefore,it is feasible to predict the EUR of shale gas wells based on a deep-learning algorithm.In this paper,according to geological evaluation data,hydraulic fracturing data,production data and EUR evaluation results of 282 wells in the WY shale gas field,a deep-learning-based algorithm for EUR evaluation of shale gas wells was designed and realized.First,the existing EUR evaluation methods of shale gas wells and the deep feedforward neural network algorithm was systematically analyzed.Second,the technical process of a deep-learning-based algorithm for EUR prediction of shale gas wells was designed.Finally,by means of real data obtained from the WY shale gas field,several different cases were applied to testify the validity and accuracy of the proposed approach.The results show that the EUR prediction with high accuracy.In addition,the results are affected by the variety and number of input parameters,the network structure and hyperparameters.The proposed approach can be extended to other shale fields using the similar technic process.

文摘Objectives To study the relationship between plasma hemoglobin concentration and estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) in elderly patients with ischemic cardiomyopathy (ICM).Methods Clinical data of patients with coronary heart disease who were discharged from The First Affiliated Hospital,Chongqing Medical University between 2005 and 2007 were analyzed retrospectively. Echocardiography results,plasma hemoglobin and creatinine concentration were abstracted from the medical records.The study included 235 Chinese Hart patients with age 60 years and older with angiography confirmed coronary heart disease,silent myocardial ischemia or angina pectoris,of whom 154 had ICM defined as left ventricular end-diastolic diameter (LVDd),male≥56 mm,female≥51 mm (63. 51±7.70 mm) measured by M-mode echocardiography.The differences in plasma hemoglobin concentration were analyzed retrospec- tively between patients with and without ICM,and between patients with an eGFR【60 ml·min<sup>-1</sup>·1.73m<sup>-2</sup> and those with an eGFR≥60 ml·min<sup>-1</sup>·1.73m<sup>-2</sup>.Results There were no significant differences in plasma hemoglobin concentration and eGFR between ICM and non-ICM group (118.49±20.52 g·L<sup>-1</sup> vs.115.80±23.32 g·L<sup>-1</sup> and 75.13±24.21 ml·min<sup>-1</sup>·1.73m<sup>-2</sup> vs.79.09±28.41 ml·min<sup>- 1</sup>·1.73m<sup>-2</sup>,respectively,both P】0.05).However,in both ICM and non-ICM groups,plasma hemoglobin concentration was lower in those with an eGFR【60 ml·min<sup>-1</sup>·1.73m<sup>-2</sup> compared with compared with those with an eGFR≥60 ml·min<sup>-1</sup>·1.73m<sup>-2</sup> group (112. 29±18.61 g·L<sup>-1</sup> vs.119.92±20.74L<sup>-1</sup>,P【0.05);plasma hemoglobin concentration was related positively to eGFR.Conclusions There were no significant changes in plasma hemoglobin concentration and eGFR;however,plasma hemoglobin concentration was related to eGFR significantly positively in elderly patients with ICM due to coronary heart

文摘Estimated Green’s function (EGF) between stations has been extracted from ambient seismic noise, direct surface wave and coda waves. It is also confirmed by laboratory experiments on ultrasonics and theoretical derivations assuming diffusive wave field, equi-partition of modes or random sources on an enclosed surface. This method provides a new approach to study the crust and mantle structure at regional scale, continental scale and global scale. Following the achievements with seismometer records, the records of infrasonic station, hydrophone and microphone were also used to obtain the EGFs of different wave fields. Since superconducting gravimeter is a better long period instrument than regular seismometer, EGF at longer period is expected to be obtained with the cross correlation of gravity data. In this paper, we will show the EGFs extracted by cross-correlations between the superconducting gravimeters and the seismometers. Both the travel times and dispersion curves obtained from different data types are consistent. The result shows that it is possible to retrieve the deep structure by the cross correlation of gravity data.
文摘AIM: To incorporate estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) into the model for end-stage liver disease (MELD) score to evaluate the predictive value. METHODS: From January 2004 to October 2008, the records of 4127 admitted cirrhotic patients were reviewed. Patients who survived and were followed up as outpatients were defined as survivors and their most recent available laboratory data were collected. Patients whose records indicated death at any time during the hospital stay were defined as non-survivors (in-hospital mortality). Patients with incomplete data or with cirrhosis due to a congenital abnormality such as primary biliary cirrhosis were excluded; thus, a total of 3857 patients were enrolled in the present study. The eGFR, which was calculated by using either the modification of diet in renal disease (MDRD) equation or the chronic kidney disease epidemiology collaboration (CKD-EPI) equation, was incorporated into the MELD score after adjustment with the original MELD equation by logistic regression analysis [bilirubin and international normalized ratio (INR) were set at 1.0 for values less than 1.0]. RESULTS: Patients defined as survivors were significantly younger, had a lower incidence of hepatoma, lower Child-Pugh and MELD scores, and better renal function. The underlying causes of cirrhosis were very different from those in Western countries. In Taiwan, most cirrhotic patients were associated with the hepatitis virus, especially hepatitis B. There were 16 parameters included in univariate logistic regression analysis to predict in-hospital mortality and those with significant predicting values were included in further multivariate analysis. Both 4-variable MDRD eGFR and 6-variable MDRD eGFR, rather than creatinine, were significant predictors of in-hospital mortality. Three new equations were constructed (MELD-MDRD-4, MELD-MDRD-6, MELD-CKD-EPI). As expected, original MELD score was a significant predictor of in-hospital mortality (odds ratio = 1.25, P < 0.001). MELD-MDRD-4 excluded serum creatinine, with the coefficients refit among the remaining 3 variables, i.e., total bilirubin, INR and 4-variable MDRD eGFR. This model represented an exacerbated outcome over MELD score, as suggested by a decrease in chi-square (2161.45 vs 2198.32) and an increase in -2 log (likelihood) (2810.77 vs 2773.90). MELD-MDRD-6 included 6-variable MDRD eGFR as one of the variables and showed an improvement over MELD score, as suggested by an increase in chi-square (2293.82 vs 2198.32) and a decrease in -2 log (likelihood) (2810.77 vs 2664.79). Finally, when serum creatinine was replaced by CKD-EPI eGFR, it showed a slight improvement compared to the original MELD score (chi-square: 2199.16, -2 log (likelihood): 2773.07). In the receiver-operating characteristic curve, the MELD-MDRD-6 score showed a marginal improvement in area under the curve (0.909 vs 0.902), sensitivity (0.854 vs 0.819) and specificity (0.818 vs 0.839) compared to the original MELD equation. In patients with a different eGFR, the MELD-MDRD-6 equation showed a better predictive value in patients with eGFR ≥ 90, 60-89, 30-59 and 15-29. CONCLUSION: Incorporating eGFR obtained by the 6-variable MDRD equation into the MELD score showed an equal predictive performance in in-hospital mortality compared to a creatinine-based MELD score.

文摘Objective We aimed to clarify the association between estimated pulse wave velocity(ePWV)and the changes in ePWV with all-cause mortality among middle-aged and elderly Chinese.Methods Data were obtained from the China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study(CHARLS)from 2011-2018.The ePWV was calculated using an equation that included age and mean blood pressure(MBP).The ΔePWV was assessed as the difference in ePWV between the first two waves.Cox proportional hazard models were used to determine the association between ePWV and ΔePWV with all-cause mortality after adjustment for potential confounders.Results Of 13,116 participants during a median follow-up of 7.0 years,1,356 deaths occurred.An increased ePWV was independently associated with all-cause mortality.The hazard ratio[95% confidence interval(CI)]for participants from the 1^(st)-4^(th) quartile groups was 1.00,1.69(1.31-2.18),3.09(2.44-3.91),and 8.54(6.78-10.75),respectively.Each standard deviation(SD)increment of ePWV increased the risk of all-cause mortality by 132%.Furthermore,theΔePWV was significantly associated with a 1.28-fold(95%CI,1.18-1.38)risk of all-cause mortality per SD increment.Conclusion This cohort study provided novel evidence from a Chinese population that an increased ePWV or progression of the ePWV was independently associated with all-cause mortality,which highlighted the importance of mitigating ePWV progression in clinical practice.
文摘We investigated the link between estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) and coffee consumption in Japanese. We used data of 376 men and 794 women who were not taking any medications, aged 20 - 78 years, in this cross- sectional investigation study. eGFR was calcu-lated using serum creatinine (Cr), age and sex. Habitual coffee consumption was defined as drinking one or more cups of coffee per day. Two hundred thirty three men (62.0%) and 400 women (50.4%) were subjects with habitual coffee consumption (coffee consumption 1 cup/ day ≥). eGFR was negatively correlated with age (men: r = –0.533, women: r = –624). eGFR in subjects with coffee consumers was not significantly different from that in subjects without coffee consumers after adjusting for age in both sexes (men: p = 0.1375, women: p = 0.2069). Among Japanese not taking medications, coffee consumption was not associated with eGFR in the Japanese population.
文摘The link between changes in a subject’s serum uric acid levels and his estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) was evaluated in Japanese men. We used data for 108 Japanese men (45.3 ± 8.0 years) with a 1-year follow up. eGFR was defined by a new equation developed for Japan. eGFR was weakly correlated with serum uric acid levels (r = –0.287, p = 0.0026) at baseline. Subjects were given advice for dietary and life-style improvement. At the 1-year follow up, almost metabolic syndrome components were significantly improved. However, blood sugar and uric acid did not change and eGFR was significantly decreased. The changes in eGFR were weakly correlated with abdominal circum-ference (r = –0.249, p = 0.0094) and uric acid (r = –0.340, p = 0.0003). A decrease in serum uric acid levels may be associated with improving eGFR in Japanese men.
文摘Lipinski’s “Rule of Five” was introduced for predicting oral bioavailability to describe drug-like molecules. For the purpose of this research the rules were used to separate potential inhibitors of HIV-1 integrase (1BIS.pdb) into two groups: drug-like and nondrug-like. If one of Lipinski’s “Rule of Five” was not followed the potential inhibitor was classified as nondrug-like. Thirty molecules were identified from the literature, twenty-four drug-like and six nondrug-like, that were docked into the active site of 1BIS.pdb (considered the non-mutated protein) and two mutant models, Y143R and N155H. These are two of the mutations that have led to increased resistance to HIV-1 integrase drugs such as raltegravir and elvitegravir. The computational software, ICM-Pro (Molsoft L.L.C.), was used to determine the estimated binding energy (EBE) of the drug/protein complex. It was found that the nondrug-like molecules generally had a more negative EBE, that is, tighter binding with 1BIS. pdb, though there were several exceptions in the drug-like group. With the protein mutant model Y143R, the majority of drug-like (58%) and nondrug-like molecules (67%) had tighter binding. However, for the mutant model N155H, there was the same percent (46%) of drug-like molecules with tighter binding with the mutant model as with 1BIS.pdb. The drug-like molecules were used when there was a ≥1 kcal/mole difference between 1BIS.pdb and either of the two mutant models to suggest a pharmacophore with structural characteristics for an HIV-1 integrase inhibitor.

文摘Since the discovery of oceanic manganese nodules during the expedition of the British ocean-going ship Challenger from 1872 to 1876, research and development for seabed manganese nodules have never ceased owing to the huge economic inducements. Manganese nodules are the black or dark brown, spherical or massive Mn-bearing ores, deposits of which are found on the sea bottom. The nodules are a mixture of silicate and insoluble potassium permanganates (also with sub-Ti, Fe and Na permanganates) that contain more than 30 kinds of metallic elements, among which those of greatest economic interest are Mn (27-30%), Ni(1.25-1.5%), Cu(1- 1.4%), Co(0.2- 0.25 %), Fe, Si, and AI, with minor amounts of Ca, Na, K, Ti, B, H and O.
文摘AIM To evaluate and compare the outcomes of kidney transplant(KT) from deceased donors among standard criteria, acute kidney injury(AKI) and expanded criteria donors(ECDs). METHODS This retrospective study included 111 deceased donor kidney transplant recipients(DDKT). Deceased donors were classified as standard criteria donor(SCD), AKI donor and ECD. AKI was diagnosed and classified based on change of serum Cr by acute kidney injury network(AKIN) criteria. Primary outcome was one-year estimated glomerular filtration rate(eG FR) calculated from Cr by CKD-EPI. Multivariate regression analysis was done by adjusting factors such as type of DDKT, %Panel-reactive antibodies, cold ischemic time, the presence of delayed graft function and the use of induction therapy. Significantfactors that can affect the primary outcomes were then identified. RESULTS ECD group had a significantly lower eG FR at one year(33.9 ± 17.3 mL /min) when compared with AKI group(56.6 ± 23.9) and SCD group(63.6 ± 19.9)(P < 0.001). For AKI group, one-year eG FR was also indifferent among AKIN stage 1, 2 or 3. Patients with AKIN stage 3 had progressive increase of eG FR from 49.6 ± 27.2 at discharge to 61.9 ± 29.0 mL /min at one year. From Kaplan-Meier analysis, AKI donor showed better two-year graft survival than ECD(100% vs 88.5%, P = 0.006). Interestingly, AKI group had a stable eG FR at one and two year. The two-year eG FR of AKI group was not significantly different from SCD group(56.6 ± 24.5 mL /min vs 58.6 ± 23.2 mL /min, P = 0.65). CONCLUSION Kidney transplantations from deceased donors with variable stage of acute kidney injuries were associated with favorable two-year allograft function. The outcomes were comparable with KT from SCD. This information supports the option that deceased donors with AKI are an important source of organ for kidney transplantation even in the presence of stage 3 AKI.
文摘Glomerular filtration rate (GFR) is considered as the best marker of kidney function. Evaluation of various prediction equations to estimate GFR is rare in our population. The aim of this study was to compare GFR estimated by various prediction equations with GFR by creatinine clearance (GFRer) in Bangladeshi population. Serum creatinine and 24 hours urinary creatinine concentrations were measured in 216 adult Bangladeshi subjects (100 males and 116 females). Creatinine clearance rate was calculated and adjusted for body surface area to obtain GFRcr. GFR was also calculated by CKD-EPI, MDRD4, Cockcroft-Gault, Jelliffe, Mawer, Bjornsson, Gates, Apollo-Chennai and Mayo Clinic prediction equations and compared with GFRcr. Results were expressed as mean + SD and compared by two-tailed paired t-test, precision (r2) and receiver-operating characteristic curve. Mean ± SD of age of the total subjects was 57.15 ±10.96 years. The mean GFILzr was 42.41 ± 22.95 mL/min/1.73m2. Estimated GFR (eGFR) by CKD-EPI, MDRD4, Cockcroft-Gault, Jelliffc 1, Jelliffe 2, Mawer, Bjornsson, Gates, Apollo-Chennai and Mayo Clinic prediction equations were 8.19 ± 13.80, 5.30 ±13.61, 11.54 ± 16.86, 8.66± 18.64, 17.25 ± 19.98, 10.86 ± 22.48, 14.60 ± 17.92, 12.18 ± 16.42, 39.86 ± 21.96 and 20.47 ± 20.49 mL/min/1.73m2 higher than GFR, (P 〈 0.001). The precision (r2) of eGFRs were 0.7114, 0.6924, 0.6431, 0.4802, 0.5048, 0.5921, 0.6286, 0.6158, 0.1635, and 0.5586 for CKD-EPI, MDRD4, Cockcroft-Gault, Jelliffe 1, Jelliffe 2, Mawer, Bjornsson, Gates, Apollo-Chennai and Mayo Clinic prediction equations, respectively. The area under receiver-operating characteristic curve was the lowest for MDRD4 equation. This study revealed that GFR estimated by standardized MDRD4 variables equation is closer to creatinine clearance rate in the study population.
文摘In this work we used the Gaussian plume model to calculate the actual maximum ground level concentration (MGLC) of air pollutant and its downwind location by using different systems of dispersion parameters and for different stack heights. An approximate formula for the prediction of downwind position that produces the MGLC of a pollutant based on the Gaussian formula was derived for different diffusion parameters. The derived formula was used to calculate the approximate MGLC. The actual and estimated values are presented in tables. The comparison between the actual and estimated values was investigated through the calculation of the relative errors. The values of the relative errors between the actual and estimated MGLC lie in the range from: 0 to 70.2 and 0 to 1.6 for Pasquill Gifford system and Klug system respectively. The errors between the actual and estimated location of the MGLC lies in the range from: 0.2 to 227 and 0.7 to 9.4 for Pasquill Gifford system and Klug system respectively.
文摘Linear mixed model (LMM) approaches have been widely applied in many areas of research data analysis because they offer great flexibility for different data structures and linear model systems. In this study, emphasis is placed on comparing the properties of two LMM approaches: restricted maximum likelihood (REML) and minimum norm quadratic unbiased estimation (MINQUE) with and without resampling techniques being included. Bias, testing power, Type I error, and computing time were compared between REML and MINQUE approaches with and without Jackknife technique based on 500 simulated data sets. Results showed that MINQUE and REML methods performed equally regarding bias, Type I error, and power. Jackknife-based MINQUE and REML greatly improved power compared to non-Jackknife based linear mixed model approaches. Results also showed that MINQUE is more time-saving compared to REML, especially with the use of resampling techniques and large data set analysis. Results from the actual cotton data analysis were in agreement with our simulated results. Therefore, Jackknife-based MINQUE approaches could be recommended to achieve desirable power with reduced time for a large data analysis and model simulations.
文摘The approaches adopted so far in China to calculate reserves of ore deposits have largely been dependent on polygonal methods, including a cross-section method and a geological block method. However, for various reasons, especially, the complexity of the geology, and the ore bodies, the deposits became gradually known as development and exploitation took place. There is a certain difference between the prospecting and mining, which will have a great impact on both geological and cutoff grade at the stage of geological mine construction and production. As much accurate information as possible on the spatial distribution patterns of ore bodies and global reserves is essential to improve the production efficiency and reduce production cost. The 10-9 ore body of Lutangba in the Gejiu Tin Deposits was selected as our research object, using a log Kriging and an inverse distance weighing method. In our paper the results are compared with the reserves calculated by the polygonal block method. The global estimate and estimation errors associated with each estimation method are discussed.

文摘Despite increasing alarms over the health impacts of microplastics(MPs)due to their detection in human organs and feces,precise exposure evaluations remain scarce.To comprehend their risks,there is a distinct need to prioritize quantitive estimates in MP exposome,particularly at the environmentallyrealistic level.Here we used a method rooted in real-world MP measurements and activity patterns to determine the daily intake of MPs through inhalation and from ground dust/soil ingestion.We found that nearly 80%of this intake comes from residential sectors,with activity intensity and behavioral types significantly affecting the human MP burden.The data showed a peak in MP exposure for those aged 18-64.When compared to dietary MP intake sources like seafood,salt,and water,we identified a previously underestimated exposure from inhalation and dust/soil ingestion,emphasizing the need for more realistic evaluations that incorporate activity factors.This discovery raises questions about the accuracy of past studies and underscores MP's potential health risks.Moreover,our time-based simulations revealed increased MP intake during the COVID-19 lockdown due to more surface dust ingestion,shedding light on how global health crises may inadvertently elevate MP exposure risks.
