Most commercially available herbicides contain surfactants as co-formulants to increase adhesion and absorption by plant leaves.Ethoxylated amines,one of the most used surfactants,are non-ionic and derived from animal fats.They represent a class of surfactants with similar structural features,including polyethoxylated tallow amine(POEA).POEA is widely used in glyphosate,glufosinate-containing herbicides.In 2015,the European Food Safety Society(EFSA)concluded that POEA was more toxic than glyphosate when tested in glyphosate-based formulations.[1]They also attributed the poisoning following ingestion by humans to the presence of POEA. 展开更多

The crystal structures of 3a and 3g have been determined. Compound 3a(C(11)H(11)N5O1S2) belongs to the monoclinic system and 3g(C(12)H(11)N3OS3) to the triclinic system. The title compounds show excellent in vitro antibacterial activities, with the minimum inhibitory concentrations varying from 4 to 32 ug/m L. 展开更多

Diesel engines are the major contributors of various types of air polluting gases like carbon monoxide, oxides of nitrogen, smoke, etc. Improvement of fuel properties is essential for suppression of Diesel pollutant emissions along with the optimization of design factors and after treatment equipment. Studies conducted in the past have shown that a significant reduction were obtained in the emissions using oxygenates. This paper investigates the performance and emission characteristics of a direct injection Diesel engine fueled with 2 Ethoxy Ethyl Acetate (EEA) blends. Different fuel blends which contain 5%, 10% and 15% of EEA were prepared and the effect of these blends on performance and emissions were studied on a single cylinder direct injection Diesel engine. The blends were tested under different load conditions and the result showed that EEA blended fuels improves the performance of the engine and reduce the emission level significantly. 展开更多

Vasorelaxant effect of 7-[2-(4-morpholinyl)ethoxy]chroman hydrochloride(HEF-04) and possible mechanisms

This study aimed to investigate the relaxant effect of chroman compound HEF-04 on isolated vascular smooth muscle (VSM) and the possible underlying mechanisms involved. Isolated rabbit thoracic aorta was used as the in vitro model and the relaxant effects of HEF-04 on endothelium-intact (+EC) and endothelium-denuded (EC) thoracic aortic rings were compared. Potassium channel blockers, guanylate cyclase inhibitors, and COX-inhibitors were used to explore associations between the relaxant effects of HEF-04 with potassium channels, NO, and prostaglandin-like substances and endothelial hyperpolafizing factor (EDHF), respectively. The results indicated that HEF-04 (1 × 10^-5 mol/L to 3× 10^-3 mol/L) had no significant impact on basal vascular tension, but could relax the contraction of vascular smooth muscle caused by high-K+ solution in a dose-dependent manner. Indomethacin (5.6× 10^-6 mol/L) had no effect on vasorelaxation effect of HEF-04. In contrast, the vasorelaxant effect of HEF-04 was enhanced by methylene blue, which was significantly inhibited by calcium-dependent potassium channel blocker TEA. The vasorelaxant effect of HEF-04 on +EC thoracic aortic rings was significantly stronger than that on -EC thoracic aortic rings. The endothelium dependent relaxant effect of HEF-04 on VSM might be attributed to the interaction of HEF-04 with vascular relaxing factors or the increased release of EDHF. 展开更多

The study concerns the use of MgCl2-supported high-activity Ziegler-Natta catalysts for the polymerization of ethylene.In particular,two types of catalysts were investigated,which were N-catalyst(BRICI)and improved polyethylene catalyst.The effects of catalyst structure on kinetic behavior were examined.The distribution of active centers in these catalysts was investigated by energy dispersive analysis by X-rays(EDAX),and morphologies of catalyst particles and polymer products were examined by scanning electron microscope(SEM).Hydrogen response and copolymerization performance were investigated and compared with the two catalysts.The results were correlated with the kinetic behavior of the two catalysts and appropriate models for polymer particle growth were presented.The improved polyethylene catalyst showed higher activity,better hydrogen response and copolymerization performance. 展开更多

A novel poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) analogue composed of aliphatic polyester backbone and pendant oligo(ethylene glycol) short chains is reported. The PEG analogue is a copolymer synthesized by ring-opening alternating copolymerization of succinic anhydride with 2-((2-(2-metho xyethoxy)ethoxy)methyl)oxirane. The structure of the copolymer was confirmed by ^1H NMR spectrum. The effects of the monomer feed ratio on the copolymerization were studied and the polymerization mechanism was given. The PEG analogue disclosed is water-soluble and expected to have promising applications in biomedical fields as a substitute of PEG due to the existence of degradable ester bond in the backbone. 展开更多

Synthesis and electrochemical polymerization of 9,9-bis(2-(2-(2-methoxy ethoxy)ethoxy)ethyl)-fluorene (EO-F) into poly[9,9-bis(2-(2-(2-methoxy ethoxy)ethoxy)ethyl)-fluorene] (EO-PF) films are reported.... Synthesis and electrochemical polymerization of 9,9-bis(2-(2-(2-methoxy ethoxy)ethoxy)ethyl)-fluorene (EO-F) into poly[9,9-bis(2-(2-(2-methoxy ethoxy)ethoxy)ethyl)-fluorene] (EO-PF) films are reported. The boron trifluoride diethyl etherate electrolyte enables facile preparation of EO-PF films at lower potential compared to LiCIOa/MeCN and the electrochemical polymerizations are discussed. The EO-PF shows good electrochemical behavior and can be dissolved in solvents such as DMSO and THF. The solubility of EO-PF in THF is 2 mg.mL-1 and the number average molecular weight is 35300 with a polydispersity index of 1.65. The side chains on C9 position of the monomer maintain unchanged aRer electrooxidation into corresponding polymer. The EO-PF dissolved in THF under 365 nm ultraviolet light is sky blue light emitting with the Commission Internationale de L'Eclairage-CIE coordinates of (0.19, 0.15). The electropolymerized EO-PF is used for the first time in chemosensing metal ions, demonstrating fluorescence quenching for Mn2+ and Fe3+ while fluorescence enhancement for Cr6+ ions. 展开更多
