BACKGROUND Dentition defect,a common clinical oral disease developed in humans, not only causes masticatory dysfunction and articulation difficulties but also affects facial appearance and increases the burden on the intestinal tract.Restorative treatment is the primary option for this disease. However, traditional restorations have many drawbacks, such as mismatch with the body, low reliability, and incomplete occlusal function recovery.AIM to analyze the efficacy of orthodontics combined with 3D printing guide plate implant restoration in treating patients with dentition defects and its influence on masticatory and phonic functions.METHODS A prospective study was carried out in 86 patients with dentition defects who received implant prosthesis after orthodontic treatment in our hospital between January 2018 and January 2019.Those patients were divided into a control group and an intervention group with 43 patients in each group using a random number table. The control group received traditional implant restoration, whereas the intervention group received 3D printing guide plate implant restoration.Treatment outcomes, cosmetic appearance, dental function, implant deviation, and quality of life were compared between the two groups.RESULTS The overall response rate in the intervention group was significantly higher than that in the control group(95.35%vs 81.40%,χ^(2)=4.071,P=0.044).The number of cases with neatly trimmed cosmetic appearance(χ^(2)=4.497,P=0.034),complete coverage(χ^(2)=4.170,P=0.041),and normal occlusion(χ^(2)=5.512,P=0.019)in the intervention group was higher than that in the control group. After treatment, mastication, swallowing, and articulation were significantly improved in both groups.Masticatory(t=2.980,P=0.004),swallowing(t=2.199,P=0.031),and phonic functions(t=3.950,P=0.004)were better in the intervention group than those in the control group. The deviation value and the deviation angle(t=5.440,P=0.000)at the top(t=6.320,P=0.000)and middle parts of the implants(t=22.295,P=0.000)in the intervention group were lower than those in the control group after treatment.Functional limitations, psychosocial and physical pain and discomfort, and total scores decreased in both groups. The functional limitation(t=2.379,P=0.020),psychosocial(t=2.420,P=0.000),physical pain and discomfort(t=6.581,P=0.000),and total scores(t=2.140,P=0.035)were lower in the intervention group than those in the control group.CONCLUSION Orthodontic treatment combined with 3D printing guide plate implant restoration can significantly improve the masticatory and phonic functions, quality of life, and psychological health of patients with dentition defects. Therefore,it is highly recommended in clinic application. 展开更多

BACKGROUND Tooth defects can cause elongation of occlusal teeth, leading to insufficient repair space. The combination of dental implant restoration and orthodontic treatment of oblique adjacent teeth has a significant therapeutic effect.AIM To explore clinical efficacy, bone density, and follow-up of implant and orthodontic treatment for patients with inclined adjacent teeth.METHODS In total,98 patients with oblique adjacent teeth were randomly assigned to implant restoration combined with orthodontic treatment(group A,n=49)or to receive implant restoration alone(group B,n=49).Changes in alveolar ridge bone density and apical bone density were observed before and after treatment in the two groups.Changes in chewing function and language function were compared between the two groups of patients.Follow-up lasted for 12 mo after repair to observe any adverse reactions in the oral cavity.RESULTS The clinical effective rates of group A and group B were 97.96%and 85.71%,respectively,with group A having a higher clinical effective rate than group B.After treatment, the bone density of the alveolar ridge and apical bone in both groups decreased compared to before treatment, while the chewing and language functions improved. The changes in various indicators in group A were more significant. After treatment, the satisfaction rate of group A(97.96%)was higher than that of group B(79.59%).The incidence of adverse reactions in group A(2.04%)was lower than that in group B(24.49%).CONCLUSION The amalgamation of implant restoration and orthodontic treatment for adjacent tilted teeth demonstrates notable clinical efficacy, diminishes alveolar bone resorption, and fosters patient functional rehabilitation while exhibiting negligible adverse reactions. 展开更多

Objective:The application effect of xenograft materials in patients with implant restoration after minimally invasive tooth extraction is explored. Methods:From February 2016 to December 2019,80 patients with minimally invasive dental implants were treated in our hospital and selected as the research object. They were divided into the observation group and the control group based on to the random number table methods, and 40 patients in each group. The patients in the control group were sutured directly after minimally invasive tooth extraction. After the minimally invasive tooth extraction in the observation group,Bio-Oss Collagen was implanted into the alveolar fossa, which was covered with Bio-Gide absorbable biofilm.Changes in the height of the mastoid, the width and height of the crest crest, and the width of the lip between the two groups of patients immediately and 6 months after the tooth extraction were compared. Results:Changes of the alveolar ridge height and width in the observation group were less than those in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(t=5.816,3.997,and P=0.000);the width of lip and tongue and the height of the interdental mastoid in the observation group. The amount of change was less than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(t=7.384,10.686,and P=0.000).Conclusion:Bio-Oss Collagen and Bio-Gide absorbable biofilms have significant clinical effects on patients with minimally invasive tooth extraction and implant restoration, helping to maintain the stability of the alveolar ridge height and width, which is conducive to the creation of later dental implants in good conditions. 展开更多

[Objectives]To explore the difference between the CAD/CAM customized zirconia abutment and the finished titanium abutment in the maxillary anterior region.[Methods]A total of 60 implants were selected from 60 patients who had undergone maxillary single anterior implant implantation in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery,Affiliated Hospital of Qingdao University from July 2017 to July 2018.They were randomly divided into an observation group and a control group(30 patients/group).The observation group used CAD/CAM customized zirconia abutment and all-ceramic crown, while the control group used finished titanium abutment and all-ceramic crown.Twelve months after the crown restoration, mechanical complications, pink esthetic(another spelling of aesthetic)score(PES)and white esthetic score(WES),and patient satisfaction were used as clinical observation indicators to evaluate the restoration effect.[Results]For 12 months after crown restoration, the implant survival rate of the two groups of patients was 100%,and there was no abutment breakage, loosening, falling off,or screw loosening and breakage. The PES and WES of the observation group were significantly higher than those of the control group(P<0.05).The patient satisfaction of the observation group was significantly higher than those of the control group(P<0.05).[Conclusions]CAD/CAM customized zirconia abutment implant restoration in the maxillary anterior region can obtain good esthetic restoration effect in a short term, and has good clinical application effect. 展开更多
