Motivational interviewing in postoperative rehabilitation and chronic disease management: Current findings and future research directions

This editorial highlights a recently published study examining the effectiveness of music therapy combined with motivational interviewing(MI)in addressing an-xiety and depression among young and middle-aged patients following percuta-neous coronary intervention.It further explores existing evidence and potential future research directions for MI in postoperative rehabilitation and chronic disease management.MI aims to facilitate behavioral change and promote healthier lifestyles by fostering a trusting relationship with patients and enhan-cing intrinsic motivation.Research has demonstrated its effectiveness in posto-perative recovery for oncological surgery,stroke,organ transplants,and gastroin-testinal procedures,as well as in managing chronic conditions such as diabetes,obesity,and periodontal disease.The approach is patient-centered,adaptable,cost-effective,and easily replicable,though its limitations include reliance on the therapist’s expertise,variability in individual responses,and insufficient long-term follow-up studies.Future research could focus on developing individualized and precise intervention models,exploring applications in digital health management,and confirming long-term outcomes to provide more compre-hensive support for patient rehabilitation.

It takes two to tango: the recruiter’s role in accepting or refusing to participate in group antenatal care among pregnant women—an exploration through in-depth interviews

Objective The purpose of this study was to explore how women are recruited for group antenatal care(GANC)in primary care organisations(PCOs),what elements influence the behaviour of the recruiter,and what strategies recruiters use to encourage women to participate.Method Using a qualitative research design,we conducted 10 in-depth interviews with GANC facilitators working in PCOs.Selected constructs of the domains of the Consolidated Framework for Implementation Research and the Theoretical Domains Framework helped to develop interview questions and raise awareness of important elements during interviews and thematic analyses.GANC facilitators working in multidisciplinary PCOs located in Brussels and Flanders(Belgium)were invited to participate in an interview.We purposively selected participants because of their role as GANC facilitators and recruiters.We recruited GANC facilitators up until data saturation and no new elements emerged.Result We identified that the recruitment process consists of four phases or actions:identification of needs and potential obstacles for participation;selection of potential participants;recruitment for GANC and reaction to response.Depending on the phase,determinants at the level of the woman,recruiter,organisation or environment have an influence on the recruitment behaviour.Conclusion Our study concludes that it takes two to tango for successful recruitment for GANC.Potential participants’needs and wishes are of importance,but the care providers’behaviour should not be underestimated.Therefore,successful recruitment may be improved when introducing a multidisciplinary recruitment plan consisting of specific strategies,as we suggest.

Music therapy combined with motivational interviewing

BACKGROUND Percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI)is one of the main treatment methods for myocardial infarction(MI).Despite its positive effects,patients often experience different degrees of anxiety and depression after the intervention.Therefore,effectively changing the emotional state of patients with MI during PCI remains a focus of clinical research.AIM To assess the effect of music therapy and motivational interviewing in young and middle-aged patients with anxiety and depression after PCI.METHODS We collected data from January 2022 to December 2023 from 86 young and middle-aged patients with MI after PCI.They were divided into observation and control groups according to the random throwing method.The observation group consisted of 43 patients undergoing music therapy and motivational interviewing,and the control group(43 cases)underwent music therapy and conventional communication.The two groups were then compared on mood status[Chinese Brief Mood Status Scale(POMS)],coping methods[Medical Coping Methods Questionnaire(MCMQ)Chinese version],and healthy lifestyle behaviors[Heart Health Self-Efficacy and Self-Management(HH-SESM)scale].RESULTS Two weeks post-intervention,the observation group had lower POMS scores,improved MCMQ scores,and higher HH-SESM scores than the control group(P<0.05).CONCLUSION The combined intervention of music therapy and motivational interviewing for young and middle-aged patients with anxiety and depression after MI can effectively regulate their mood,reduce anxiety and depression symptoms,and stimulate patients to actively face their condition.It also encourages the formation of healthy behavioral habits.

The Impact of Street Interviews on Chinese EFL Undergraduates’Intercultural Communicative Competence

The study adopts Byram’s Intercultural Communicative Competence(ICC)model as the theoretical framework,and structured interviews were conducted to explore the impact of street interviews on the participants’ICC.Analysis results revealed street interviews help students acquire knowledge in intercultural attitudes,intercultural knowledge,skills of discovery and interaction,and critical cultural awareness,aligning with the four components of Byram’s ICC model.Meanwhile,they have positive perceptions of street interviews.Therefore,street interviews have a positive effect on the development of participants’ICC.

基于就医服务需求的医院导向标识系统设计改造研究

目的:设计改造一套基于就医服务需求的医院导向标识系统。方法:以行业标准为依据,按照“统一样式、精准指引、服务患者”原则对现有医院标识系统进行改造。从就医服务需求侧出发,利用就诊路线热力图筛选和识别重点就诊路线,结合实地堪访结果,设计针对性的路线指引标识,并利用半结构式访谈评价改造效果。结果:本研究共改造室外导向标识设施设备点位1117个,室内导向标识设施设备点位38个,增设热点路线指引设施15套。统一了诊区标识的字体字号和颜色,以及科普宣传栏的形象设计。改造前后的问卷访谈结果显示门诊标识系统便捷性评分提升1.46分,准确性评分提升1.87分,可及性评分提升0.86分。结论:从就医服务需求侧入手,开展医院导向标识系统设计改造能够有效发现就医指引和标识设置上的薄弱环节,显著提高患者就医效率和医院就医服务质量。

以实践为导向构建社区医务人员安宁疗护服务能力评价工具及信效度研究

背景我国安宁疗护服务已进入深度实践时期,许多城市将基层医疗卫生服务机构作为开展安宁疗护的首要场所。社区安宁疗护服务主要为全科团队式服务,但目前尚缺乏切实统一的社区安宁疗护服务人员相关能力考核标准与要求。目的结合社区安宁疗护服务实践,编制社区卫生服务中心医务人员安宁疗护服务能力评价工具,并对其信效度进行研究。方法于2022年6月—2023年3月,通过文献回顾、质性访谈、两轮德尔菲专家咨询进行条目分析,形成安宁疗护服务能力评价工具;于2023-04-01—2023-05-12对上海市浦东新区1281名社区卫生服务中心医务人员开展一般资料、对安宁疗护服务的认知和经历、安宁疗护服务能力评价工具和人文关怀能力量表的问卷调查,检验安宁疗护服务能力评价工具的信度、效度,并采用多元线性回归分析探讨安宁疗护服务能力的影响因素。结果通过文献检索分析和质性访谈形成49个初始条目。德尔菲专家咨询法共邀请上海市15名研究和开展安宁疗护服务的权威专家,其中专家权威系数为0.87,整体指标体系的Kendall和谐系数为0.624(P<0.01),经过两轮德尔菲专家咨询,最终形成具有50个条目的评价工具。问卷调查部分共发放1300份问卷,回收1284份,问卷回收率为98.77%(1284/1300)。安宁疗护服务能力评价工具标准化后的Cronbach'sα系数为0.993,Spearman-Brown折半信度为0.935,总体信度较好。效度检验显示,KMO值为0.987,Bartlett's球形检验值为119119.104,P<0.001,表明该量表效度良好,且适合因子分析。因子分析显示,所有条目的因子载荷系数≥0.4,共同度>0.2,因此保留50个条目。抽取4个公因子,累积方差贡献率为86.517%。相关分析显示,本次构建的安宁疗护服务能力评价工具的总得分和人文关怀量表总分呈显著正相关关系(r=0.819,P<0.001),说明该评价工具具有良好的校标关联效度。多元线性回归分析结果显示,性别、学历、从事社区工作年限、是否经历亲属离世、是否经历安宁疗护培训、安宁疗护服务工作时长、是否愿意从事安宁疗护服务工作是安宁疗护服务能力的影响因素(P<0.05)。结论本研究构建的社区卫生服务中心医务人员安宁疗护服务能力评价工具有较好的科学性和可靠性,信效度较好,可用于评价社区医务人员在安宁疗护服务中的各项能力。

Influence of Thermal Treatments on In-depth Compositional Uniformity of Culn（S,Se）2 Thin Films

CuIn（S,Se）2 thin films were prepared by thermal crystallization of co-sputtered Cu-In alloy precursors in S/Se atmosphere. In-depth compositional uniformity is an important prereq- uisite for obtaining device-quality CuIn（S,Se）2 absorber thin films. In order to figure out the influence of heat treatments on in-depth composition uniformity of CuIn（S,Se）2 thin films, two kinds of reaction temperature profiles were investigated. One process is ＂one step profile＂, referring to formation of CuIn（S,Se）2 thin films just at elevated temperature （e.g. 500 ℃）. The other is ＂two step profile＂, which allows for slow diffusion of S and Se elements into the alloy precursors at a low temperature before the formation and re-crystallization of CuIn（S,Se）2 thin films at higher temperature （e.g. first 250 ℃ then 500 ℃）. X-ray diffrac- tion studies reveal that there is a discrepancy in the shape of （112） peak. Samples annealed with ＂one step profile＂ have splits on （112） peaks, while samples annealed with ＂two step profile＂ have relatively symmetrical （112） peaks. Grazing incident X-ray diffraction and en- ergy dispersive spectrum measurements of samples successively etched in bromine methanol show that CuIn（S,Se）2 thin films have better in-depth composition uniformity after ＂two step profile＂ annealing. The reaction mechanism during the two thermal processing was also investigated by X-ray diffraction and Raman spectra.
