The objective of this study is to find a suitable method to overcome the pressure loss problem in the gas pipe during the gas exchange detection of medical masks.Based on the European Standards EN 14683,the parameters of a medical mask differential pressure tester were selected, subsequently two schemes of gas pipe layouts were designed, including four kinds of pipe diameter which are 4,5,6.5,and 8mm respectively.Lastly, the models of each scheme were established and imported into Fluent, and the relevant parameters were set for simulation. After data analysis, the results showed that among the four different pipe diameters, the pressure loss of 8mm diameter of the pipe was lower in both the schemes, additionally the pressure loss of the second scheme(the gas pipe was short and smooth)was lower under the same pipe diameter. At the flow rate of v=8L/min,the pressure loss from the inlet to the measurement point is less than 200Pa,and the estimated measurement error is less than 1.5%.In conclusion, shortening the length of the pipe, and increasing the diameter of the pipe can reduce the gas pressure loss, subsequently improve the measurement accuracy of the medical mask differential pressure tester. 展开更多

Objective:To optimize the magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)detection process in view of the COVID-19 pandemic, standardize and strengthen the infection control and management MRI rooms. Methods:According to the Technical Guide for COVID-19 Prevention and Control in Medical Institutions(3rd Edition),with reference to the current COVID-19 infection control plan, there are three aspects involved in the planning of MRI examination:MRI room management, medical staff management and protection, and patient management, especially the use of full plastic nose strip medical masks.Infection prevention measures are formulated, scientific prevention and control are made, and accurate policies are implemented. Results:MRI examination was carried out according to the infection control and management of MRI room plan during the epidemic,so as to ensure the safety of examination, the safety of patients and the safety of medical staff and no cross infection in hospital. Conclusion:The implementation of proper infection prevention measures during MRI examination in light of COVID-19 ensures that patients wear medical surgical masks with full plastic nose strips throughout the process to avoid cross-infection,ensure the safety of doctors and patients, and maintain the health of the population. 展开更多

During the pandemic, face masks are one of the most significant self-protection necessities, but they also cause heat stress.By using the ERA5(ECMWF Reanalysis 5th Generation)database and the local weather bureau data, the effect of mask wearing on outdoor thermal sensation has been investigated by a survey conducted in the hot summer and cold winter region of eastern China in the summer of 2020.Results show that wearing a face mask for a longer period result in a higher level of discomfort, and the primary source of discomfort is hot and stuffy feelings. The effect of relative humidity is crucial for mask wearers in warm-biased thermal environments,as mean thermal sensation vote(TSV)peaks when environmental relative humidity reaches the range of 70%to 80%and decreases after this range due to the evaporation within the microclimate created by a face mask.Meanwhile, prolonged mask wearing increases participants’hot feelings, especially in warm environments.Specifically, participants wearing face masks for less than 30 min feel hot at a physiological equivalent temperature(PET)value of 34.4℃,but those who wear them for over 60 min express hot feelings even at a PET value of 24.7℃.The participants who wear a face mask while walking slowly outdoors have similar thermal sensations to those who do not wear a mask, but are in a higher activity level. The findings demonstrate that mask wearing has a crucial impact on outdoor thermal comfort assessment in a warm-biased outdoor thermal environment. 展开更多
