It makes use of dynamically-biased shunt feedback as the buffer stage and the LDO regulator can be stable for all load conditions. The proposed structure also employs a momentarily current-boosting circuit to reduce the output voltage to the normal value when output is switched from full load to no load. The whole circuit is designed in a 0.18 μm CMOS technology with a quiescent current of 550 nA. The maximum output voltage variation is less than 20 mV when used with 1 μF external capacitor.展开更多

Quiescently infected (QI) planting stock is one of the most important sources of inoculum in the fruiting field that can only be reliably detected by highly sensitive real time quantitative PCR (q-PCR) assay. In this study, a q-PCR assay was developed and optimized that can discriminate anthracnose fruit rot (AFR) and anthracnose crown rot (ACR) causing species based on the difference in post PCR melting temperatures of amplicons. Controlled environment grown plants artificially inoculated with different levels of CASC and CGSC showed a significant (P 0.001) correlation with levels of quantification expressed by Ct values in q-PCR from petioles and leaf blades. The leaf blade was a significantly larger reservoir of QI than that of the petiole. Both TaqMan and SYBR Green assay showed similar sensitivity and specificity. Detection of QI on leaves at young middle and older stages from inoculation with same number of conidia indicated that middle aged leaves were the best for assessing QI. Quantification of QI from middle aged leaf samples from a strawberry fruiting field that has been planted with pre-inoculated plants at both ends of rows and let inoculum spread showed higher sensitivity and precision by q-PCR compared to that of a traditional paraquat assay. The assay developed and validated in this study offers a new tool for evaluating planting stocks for QI to make decision on preventative control for strawberry anthracnose.展开更多

Labeling of proliferating (P) cells in C57BL/6J mice bearing EL4 tumors was achieved by continuous administration of 5-bromo-2-deoxyuridine (BrdU). Tumors were irradiated with γ-rays at 1 h after the administration of pimonidazole followed by TPZ treatment or MTH. Twenty-four hours later, assessment of the responses of Q and total (= P + Q) cells were based on the frequencies of micronucleation and apoptosis using immunofluorescence staining for BrdU. The response of the pimonidazole-unlabeled tumor cell fractions was assessed by means of apoptosis frequency using immunofluorescence staining for pimonidazole. With γ-rays only, the pimonidazole-unlabeled cell fraction showed significantly enhanced radio-sensitivity compared with the whole cell fraction more remarkably in Q cells than total cells. However, a significantly greater decrease in radio-sensitivity in the pimonidazole-unlabeled than the whole cell fraction, evaluated using a delayed assay, was more clearly observed in Q cells than total cells. Post-irradiation MTH more remarkably repressed the decrease in radio-sensitivity in the Q cell than the total cells. Post-irradiation TPZ administration produced a large radio-sensitizing effect on both total and Q cells, especially on Q cells. On the other hand, in pimonidazole-unlabeled cell fractions in both total and Q cells, TPZ suppressed the reduction in sensitivity due to delayed assay much more efficiently than MTH, whereas no radio-sensitizing effect was produced. Not only through suppressing the recovery from radiation-induced damage but also through radio-sensitizing effect, post-irradiation TPZ administration is very useful for repressing the increase in the difference in radio-sensitivity due to the delayed assay not only between total and Q tumor cells but also between the pimonidazole-unlabeled and the whole cell fractions within the total and Q tumor cells.展开更多

By the method of super-and subsolutions together with the comparison principle, we establish the existence of pulsating waves with any speed larger than the spreading speed. The construction of the super-and subsolutions depends on the principal eigenvalue theory for a periodic eigenvalue problem with partially degenerate nonlocal dispersal. The joint results of this paper and our recent work(Wang J B, Li W T, Sun J W. Global dynamics and spreading speeds for a partially degenerate system with non-local dispersal in periodic habitats. Proc Roy Soc Edinburgh Sect A, 2018, 148: 849–880) show that the spreading speed coincides with the minimal wave speed of pulsating waves for the considered system. Moreover, combining the rightward and leftward pulsating waves with different speeds and a spatially periodic solution, we prove the existence and qualitative properties of entire solutions other than pulsating waves, which provide some new spreading ways in a heterogeneous habitat.展开更多

Compared to existing works, the method in this paper has the advantage that it can be extended to more complex situations. The authors treat a system with space variable and diffusion, and then adapt the energy functional to models with three equations.展开更多
