The results showed that the total number of peripheral white blood cell, the clearance rate of charcoal particles, the indices of thymus and spleen were increased on different degrees, and associated with the watering dose, noting that these indices were increased significantly by cerous nitrate at a dose of 20 mg·kg-1 compared with control group. Therefore, it was concluded that the nonspecific immunity could be improved by rare earth Ce in mice.展开更多

The parameters of the processes such as stage numbers, volume of mixer settler, fixed investment of extractant and rare earths, consumption of chemical reagents including HCl and NH 3 were calculated and compared. The results show that the novel scheme can save cost more than 20% compared with those of others. By the economical analysis, the optimized separation process of bastnasite was obtained, which can be applied to the treatment of monazite too.展开更多

However, it is difficult to obtain a quantitative relation between the refractive index and the structure and composition of materials. A qualitative relation between the refractive index and some atomic parameters of materials was proposed and demonstrated by some oxide optical crystals. A parameter P=r~-/F=r~-/(r~+ΔxD) is defined, in which Δx is the difference of the electronegativities between cations and anions in the materials and r~+ and r~- are the radii of cations and anions respectively. On the other hand, the factor D was introduced to describe the effect of mass difference of the ions. It is demonstrated by both theoretical discussion and experimental data that refractive index is a decreasing function of parameter P. The relation may be useful for the investigation of optical materials.展开更多

The relevant solid electrolyte materials were also sintered by pressureless sintering at different temperatures. The results of X-ray diffraction and transmission electron microscopy showed that the grain size of the powders was approximately 20-30 nm, and rare earth/alkaline earth oxides were completely dissolved into ceria-based solid solution with fluorite structure. The electrical conductivities of the SmzO3-CeO2 system were measured by the ac impedance technique in air at temperatures ranging from 513-900℃. The results indicated that the ionic conductivities of Srno.2oCe0.8Ol.875 solid electrolyte increase with increasing sintering temperature, and the relationship between the conductivities and measuring temperature obeys the An'henius equation. Then the SmzO3-CeO2 material was further doped with other rare earth/alkaline earth oxide, and the conductivities improve with the effective index.展开更多
