On the Local Convergence and Dynamics of New Iterative Method with Sixth Order Convergence

In this paper,we construct a new sixth order iterative method for solving nonlinear equations.The local convergence and order of convergence of the new iterative method is demonstrated.In order to check the validity of the new iterative method,we employ several chemical engineering applications and academic test problems.Numerical results show the good numerical performance of the new iterative method.Moreover,the dynamical study of the new method also supports the theoretical results.

国家自然化:Sixth Tone奥运赛事报道中的国家形象塑造——以2016年里约奥运报道为例

奥运会是一种政治剧场语境下的公共仪式,奥运会的媒体报道能使这类仪式产生国家自然化的效果。本文采用内容分析法,基于戈夫曼框架理论对“第六声”(Sixth Tone)有关里约奥运会的系列报道展开分析,发现其在剧场仪式下,国家形象在仪式、权利和情感三个方面意义的生成。在政治仪式中,均衡报道,回归个体,从而实现权力话语的转移。

Evaluation and Estimation of the Provincial Infant Mortality Rate in China's Sixth Census

Objective To assess the data quality and estimate the provincial infant mortality rate（1q0） from China＇s sixth census. Methods A log-quadratic model is applied to under-fifteen data. We analyze and compare the average relative errors（AREs） for 1q0 between the estimated and reported values using the leave-one-out cross-validation method. Results For the sixth census, the AREs are more than 100% for almost all provinces. The estimated average 1q0 level for 31 provinces is 12.3‰ for males and 10.7‰ for females. Conclusion The data for the provincial 1q0 from China＇s sixth census have a serious data quality problem. The actual levels of 1q0 for each province are significantly higher than the reported values.

Development Paths of the Sixth Industry in Jingzhou of Hubei Province

As a new light spot and form of current agricultural development,the sixth industry is a new way to solve the problems of rural development.This paper first introduced current situations of the development of the sixth industry in Jingzhou of Hubei Province,analyzed the related problems,and then came up with some feasible development paths.First of all,the local government should formulate the financial support policies for the sixth industry.Second,local government should focus on strengthening the cultivation of new type of agricultural business entities and carrying out agricultural brand strategy.Finally,local government should develop leisure agriculture,ecological agriculture and promote the integration of rural tourism in the whole region.

An Instability Result to a Certain Vector Differential Equation of the Sixth Order

The nonlinear vector differential equation of the sixth order with constant delay is considered in this article. New criteria for instability of the zero solution are established using the Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional approach and the differential inequality techniques. The result of this article improves previously known results.

Outcomes of half-width vertical rectus transposition augmented with posterior fixation sutures for sixth cranial nerve palsy

AIM:To describe the experience with half-width vertical muscles transposition(VRT)augmented with posterior fixation sutures.METHODS:The clinical charts of all patients,who underwent half-width VRT augmented with posterior fixation sutures for sixth cranial nerve palsy from January 2003 to December 2018,were retrospectively reviewed.For each patient,pre-and post-operatively,the largest measured angle was used for the calculations,usually resulting with the angle for distance,except in young infants,where measurements were made at near fixation using the Krimsky test.RESULTS:Fifteen patients met the inclusion criteria for the study,of them 9(60.0%)had also medial rectus muscle recession at the time of surgery.Mean follow-up period was 21.4±23.2mo(range 1.5-82mo).Preoperative mean esotropia was 51.3±19.7 prism diopter(PD;range 20-90 PD).Postoperative mean deviation on final follow-up was 7.7±20.2 PD(range-40 to 35 PD;P=0.018).In all patients with preoperative abnormal head position,improvement was noted.Ten(66.7%)patients had improvement in abduction and 10(66.7%)patients reported improvement in their diplopia,by final follow-up.The addition of medial rectus recession was correlated with a larger change in postoperative horizontal deviation compared to baseline(P=0.026).Two(13.3%)patients developed a vertical deviation in the immediate postoperative period which had resolved in one of them.CONCLUSION:Half-width VRT augmented with posterior fixation suture,with or without medial rectus muscle recession,is an effective and safe procedure for esotropia associated with sixth cranial nerve palsy.A major improvement in the angle of deviation is expected.Most patients will have improvement in their abnormal head position and diplopia.

Sixth Order Finite Difference Method for Three Coupled Nonlinear Schrödinger Equations

In this work, we will derive a numerical method of sixth order in space and second order in time for solving 3-coupled nonlinear Schrödinger equations. The numerical method is unconditionally stable. We use the exact single soliton solution and the conserved quantities to check the accuracy and the efficiency of the proposed schemes. Also, we study the interaction dynamics of two solitons. It is found that both elastic and inelastic collisions can take place under suitable parametric conditions.

Cosmic Continuum Theory: A New Idea on Hilbert’s Sixth Problem

Hilbert’s sixth problem “The mathematical treatment of the axioms of physics” is a century-old problem that still plagues the scientific community. It is a solution necessary to establish a unified axiom of the basic theories of physics according to the characteristics of a mathematical axiomatic system needed to solve this problem. The cosmic continuum hypothesis can make classical theory, quantum theory and relativity have common logical foundation. According to this model, the universe is a continuum formed by the existence continuum and the existence dimension continuum. Their movement and changes can be described by an axiomatic system. The concrete steps are as follows: 1) Construct the axiom system of a cosmic continuum and establish the basic theory of force. 2) Construct the axiom system of action at a distance and establish the basic theory of field. 3) Based on the axiom system of force and field, the axiom system of the branches of physics is established.

Blow-Up of Solution to Cauchy Problem for the Singularly Perturbed Sixth-Order Boussinesq-Type Equation

We consider the singularly perturbed sixth-order Boussinesq-type equation, which describes the bidirectional propagation of small amplitude and long capillary gravity waves on the surface of shallow water for bond number (surface tension parameter) less than but very close to 1/3. The sufficient conditions of blow-up of solution to the Cauchy problem for this equation are given.

Analysis on Sixth-Order Compact Approximations with Richardson Extrapolation for 2D Poisson Equation

By using Richardson extrapolation and fourth-order compact finite difference scheme on different scale grids, a sixth-order solution is computed on the coarse grid. Other three techniques are applied to obtain a sixth-order solution on the fine grid, and thus give out three kinds of Richardson extrapolation-based sixth order compact computation methods. By carefully analyzing the truncation errors respectively on 2D Poisson equation, we compare the accuracy of these three sixth order methods theoretically. Numerical results for two test problems are discussed.
