Privacy Protection in COVID Data Tracking: Textual Analysis of the Literature

The literary review presented in the following paper aims to analyze the tracking tools used in different countries during the period of the COVID-19 pandemic. Tracking apps that have been adopted in many countries to collect data in a homogeneous and immediate way have made up for the difficulty of collecting data and standardizing evaluation criteria. However, the regulation on the protection of personal data in the health sector and the adoption of the new General Data Protection Regulation in European countries has placed a strong limitation on their use. This has not been the case in non-European countries, where monitoring methodologies have become widespread. The textual analysis presented is based on co-occurrence and multiple correspondence analysis to show the contact tracing methods adopted in different countries in the pandemic period by relating them to the issue of privacy. It also analyzed the possibility of applying Blockchain technology in applications for tracking contagions from COVID-19 and managing health data to provide a high level of security and transparency, including through anonymization, thus increasing user trust in using the apps.

The Classic Shaping of Typical Female Images by Mulan Motif in Historical Times-Historical Review and Textual Sorting of the Motif

The image of Mulan is well known to the public as an important symbol in the dissemination of Chinese excellent traditional culture.This paper aims to summarise the mother-title from traditional canonical texts,to explore the content and value of sustainable IP development,and to study a large number of derivatives with the image of Mulan as the mother-title,based on the wide circulation of the prototype of the mother-title“The Poem of Mulan”(木兰辞)and the positive values conveyed by the content.Through the processing and imagination of scholars and writers on the mother text in the past generations,the image of Mulan has gradually formed a relatively stable cultural communication theme in the process of dissemination in China’s historical period,and many adaptations with international influence based on the mother title of Mulan have emerged in the foreign dissemination,so through the combing and summarisation of the textual works of various periods both at home and abroad,we will dig out the textual transmission of the mother title of Mulan,which is representative of the mother title of China’s excellent traditional culture,and the development of the Chinese spiritual core.The Development of the Chinese Spiritual Kernel.This paper adopts research methods such as documentary evidence method and discourse analysis to show the textual flow of Mulan’s parent theme in a more diversified form.

Study on the Textual Coherence Function of Conjunctions in Political Texts and Their Translation Reconstruction

The assessment of translation quality in political texts is primarily based on achieving effective communication.Throughout the translation process,it is essential to not only accurately convey the original content but also effectively transform the structural mechanisms of the source language.In the translation reconstruction of political texts,various textual cohesion methods are often employed,with conjunctions serving as a primary means for semantic coherence within text units.

Active Learning Strategies for Textual Dataset-Automatic Labelling

The Internet revolution has resulted in abundant data from various sources,including social media,traditional media,etcetera.Although the availability of data is no longer an issue,data labelling for exploiting it in supervised machine learning is still an expensive process and involves tedious human efforts.The overall purpose of this study is to propose a strategy to automatically label the unlabeled textual data with the support of active learning in combination with deep learning.More specifically,this study assesses the performance of different active learning strategies in automatic labelling of the textual dataset at sentence and document levels.To achieve this objective,different experiments have been performed on the publicly available dataset.In first set of experiments,we randomly choose a subset of instances from training dataset and train a deep neural network to assess performance on test set.In the second set of experiments,we replace the random selection with different active learning strategies to choose a subset of the training dataset to train the same model and reassess its performance on test set.The experimental results suggest that different active learning strategies yield performance improvement of 7% on document level datasets and 3%on sentence level datasets for auto labelling.

The Loss of Textual Function Caused by Passive Voice Translation

Passive voice is an important grammatical phenomenon,and the translation of English passive voice is a hot issue in translation research.In translation,some linguistic phenomena of the source language cannot be expressed in the target language,and the translation has limits of translatability.However,fewer scholars have studied the loss of textual function caused by the translation of passive voice.The authors argue that the conversion of voice in the translation process can,to a certain extent,cause the loss of meaning.In this paper,the authors analyze the loss of textual function caused by the conversion of English passive voice to Chinese active voice from the perspective of the limits of translatability.The authors believe that this phenomenon is common and unavoidable.Therefore,when dealing with the passive voice,the translator should preserve its discourse function as much as possible,rather than just“converting passive to active voice”.

Comparative Textual Studies on Bai Hua's Poem Xiatian Hai Hen Yuan and Its English Translations

Based on the poem Xiatian Hai Hen Yuan夏天还很远, one of the most characteristic works of the Chinese poet Bai Hua, along with its four English translations, this paper conducts comparative textual studies with regard to three aspects, including the translation of hidden personae, the selection of the tense and aspectas well as the rendition of poetic rhythms. The author holds the view that, on the one hand, different textual interpretations have gone a long way toward the dissemination of the original poem in the English-speaking world;on the other hand, the translator's proper understanding and rendition is of great significance with a view to a better presentation of the unique beauty of Chinese poetry both in the content and the form.

AUTOMATIC TEXT SUMMARIZATION BASED ON TEXTUAL COHESION

This paper presents two different algorithms that derive the cohesion structure in the form of lexical chains from two kinds of language resources HowNet and TongYiCiCiLin. The re-search that connects the cohesion structure of a text to the derivation of its summary is displayed. A novel model of automatic text summarization is devised,based on the data provided by lexical chains from original texts. Moreover,the construction rules of lexical chains are modified accord-ing to characteristics of the knowledge database in order to be more suitable for Chinese summa-rization. Evaluation results show that high quality indicative summaries are produced from Chi-nese texts.

Tone of language,financial disclosure,and earnings management:a textual analysis of form 20-F

This study investigates the relationship between the tone of financial disclosures and managers’earnings management behavior using Form 20-F filings of Chinese firms listed in the U.S.during 2002–2014.The results show that the proportion of positive,uncertain,or modal words used in financial disclosures is positively related to corporate earnings management,implying that managers attempt to conceal earnings management behavior by manipulating the tone of their financial reports.In addition,robustness tests are conducted using an alternative proxy for earnings management that considers the effects of the financial crisis and separately examines the information and non-information technology industries.The results suggest that the tone used in financial disclosures has informative value,and textual analysis can be an effective tool for identifying earnings management.

Textual research of Wudu earthquake in 186 B.C. in Gansu Province, China and discussion on its causative structure

On the basis of the textual research on the historical earthquake data and the field investigation of Wudu earthquake occurred in 186 B.C., we suggest that the earthquake parameters drawn from the present earthquake catalogs are not definite and amendments should be made. The heavily-damaged area of this earthquake should be located between Jugan township of Wudu County and Pingding township of Zhouqu County. Its epicenter should be in the vicinity of Lianghekou in Wudu County with a magnitude of about 7-7 1/4 and an intensity of about IX-X. The major axis direction of the heavily-damaged area should be in the WNW direction that is approximately consistent with the strike of the middle-east segment of Diebu-Bailongjiang active fault zone, and the origin time should match up to that of the latest paleoearthquake event [before （83±46） B.C.] obtained by the trench investigation. Certain seismic rupture evidences are still preserved on this fault segment. Therefore, we propose on the basis of comprehensive analysis that the causative structure of the M 7-7 1/4 Wudu earthquake in 186 B.C. should be in the middle-east segment of Diebu-Bailongjiang active fault zone.

A Textual Research on Materia Medica of Origin of Orthonym and Synonym of Cuscutae Semen

A textual research on materia medica of origin of orthonym and synonym of Cuscutae Semen and synonym of Nu Luo was conducted in this study,and the trade name,regional synonym and nickname of Cuscutae Semen were reviewed.The records of orthonym and synonym of Cuscutae Semen in the past dynasties,and the first published literature and writing date of orthodox and synonym were summarized.The textual research showed that Nu Luo and Cuscutae Semen were not the same plant,which had positive significance for the identification of the origin and modern application of Cuscutae Semen.

For a Real Generic and Textual Competence in Written Production Among Secondary School Students in Algeria. What Relationship to Writing?

If,linguistically speaking,writing constitutes one of the two faces in the form of which discourse can be emitted,his place and his evaluation in didactics of the languages make anchor the feathers of the researchers in the field.To write or“to produce,to put in situation,to make happen in the direction of enaction”requires the mobilization of a generic and textual competence thus leading to the writing of different types of text according to various situations of communication.In language classes,our students often experience difficulties related to the practice of writing,sometimes causing inhibitions and avoidance strategies.We conducted a research entitled“For a real textual and generic competence in the written productions of high school students in Algeria(the case of three high schools of French Médéa)”.This research is part of several hypotheses corroborated by field surveys with a sample of students from three high schools of Medea.Our pupils,especially at the three secondary school,write very little.If they write,they do so in short texts.The approaches by type of texts(the argumentative,the narrative,the descriptive…)dominate.The pre-text process is often underestimated.The genre,whether literary or non-literary,is rarely taken into account in written production.Our work advocates a reconsideration of gender as an input for the improvement of writing.It defends writing process rather than handwriting transmission.The pre-text,whether collaborative or individual,must be taken into account.The project is an essential concept for implementing a writing project.
