In contrast with related works, only the most fundamental requirements, i.e., boundedness and the local Lipschitz condition, are assumed for the allowable time delays. Moreover, we focus on the case where the reference is unknown beforehand, which renders the standard prescribed performance control designs under output constraints infeasible. To conquer these challenges, a novel robust prescribed performance control approach is put forward in this paper.Herein, a reverse tuning function is skillfully constructed and automatically generates a performance envelop for the tracking error. In addition, a unified performance analysis framework based on proof by contradiction and the barrier function is established to reveal the inherent robustness of the control system against the time delays. It turns out that the system output tracks the reference with a preassigned settling time and good accuracy, without constraint violations. A comparative simulation on a two-stage chemical reactor is carried out to illustrate the above theoretical findings.展开更多

For optimal solar harvesting, there is a need for a control schema to force the PV string to operate at global maximum power point (GMPP). While a lot of tracking methods have been proposed in the literature, they are usually complex and do not fully take advantage of the available characteristics of the PV array. This work highlights how the voltage at operating point and the forward voltage of the bypass diode are considered to design a global maximum power point tracking (GMPPT) algorithm with a very limited global search phase called Fast GMPPT. This algorithm successfully tracks GMPP between 94% and 98% of the time under a theoretical evaluation. It is then compared against Perturb and Observe, Deterministic Particle Swarm Optimization, and Grey Wolf Optimization under a sequence of irradiance steps as well as a power-over-voltage characteristics profile that mimics the electrical characteristics of a PV string under varying partial shading conditions. Overall, the simulation with the sequence of irradiance steps shows that while Fast GMPPT does not have the best convergence time, it has an excellent convergence rate as well as causes the least amount of power loss during the global search phase. Experimental test under varying partial shading conditions shows that while the GMPPT proposal is simple and lightweight, it is very performant under a wide range of dynamically varying partial shading conditions and boasts the best energy efficiency (94.74%) out of the 4 tested algorithms.展开更多

Seven female simulated patients and one male and one female pharmacist cooperated as patients and pharmacists, respectively. The medication teaching scenes were set up with three pharmacist placements (face-to-face at 50 cm and 70 cm, 90-degree at 70 cm) and three hospital rooms (0-degree, 45-degree, 90-degree). Pupil diameter, blink rate, saccades, and fixation rate of the patient at each of these locations were measured using a Tobii Pro Glass 2. The patient’s subjective evaluation at each placement was also investigated using the conversation scale, which assesses the optimal distance for conversation. The results for the pharmacy setting revealed that pupils were significantly more mydriatic at the 50 cm point than at the other points. The results for the hospital room setting showed the greatest mydriasis at the 0-degree point. The result of the 50 cm point for the pharmacy setting and the 0-degree point for the hospital room setting was similar to that of the subjective evaluation. When the likelihood of saccades occurrence in the hospital room setting was compared, saccades were found to be most likely to occur when medication instructions were given to patients at the 0-degree point. We believe that using pupil diameter for interpersonal distance, and saccades for angle will enable more accurate determinations of the optimal distance and angle between pharmacist and patient. The results of the present study suggest that the 70 cm face-to-face point in the pharmacy and the 45-degree point in the ward may be suitable for medication instruction.展开更多

The coexistence of mismatched uncertainties and non-vanishing disturbances makes PTC synthesis nontrivial. In this work, a control method that does not involve infinite time-varying gain is proposed, leading to a practical and global prescribed time tracking control solution for the strict-feedback systems, in spite of both the mismatched and nonvanishing uncertainties. Different from methods based on control switching to avoid the issue of infinite control gain that involves control discontinuity at the switching point, in our method a softening unit is exclusively included to ensure the continuity of the control action. Furthermore, in contrast to most existing prescribed-time control works where the control scheme is only valid on a finite time interval, in this work, the proposed control scheme is valid on the entire time interval. In addition, the prior information on the upper or lower bound of gi is not in need, enlarging the applicability of the proposed method. Both the theoretical analysis and numerical simulation confirm the effectiveness of the proposed control algorithm.展开更多

Particle filter is one of the techniques which has been widely used in object tracking. Due to the virtue of extendability and flexibility on both linear and non-linear environments, various particle filter-based trackers have been proposed in the literature. However, the conventional approach cannot handle very large videos efficiently in the current data intensive information age. In this work, a parallelized particle filter is provided in a distributed framework provided by the Hadoop/Map-Reduce infrastructure to tackle object-tracking tasks. The experiments indicate that the proposed algorithm has a better convergence and accuracy as compared to the traditional particle filter. The computational power and the scalability of the proposed particle filter in single object tracking have been enhanced as well.展开更多

The aim of this study was to assess myocardial viability using two-dimensional speckle tracking imaging (2D-STI) in patients with AMI. Methods 2D-STI was performed at initial presentation, three days, and six months after primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) in 30 patients with AMI, who had a left anterior descending coronary artery (LAD) culprit lesion. In addition, 20 patients who had minimal stenotic lesions (〈 30% stenosis) on coronary angiography were also included in the control group. At six months dobutamine echocardiography was performed for viability assessment in seven segments of the LAD territory. According to the recovery of wall motion abnormality, segments were classified as viable or non-viable. Results A total of 131 segments were viable, and 44 were nonviable. Multivariate analysis revealed significant differences between the viable and nonviable segments in the peak systolic strain, the peak systolic strain rate at initial presentation, and peak systolic strain rate three days after primary PCI. Among these, the initial peak systolic strain rate had the highest predictive value for myocardial viability (hazard ratio: 31.22, P 〈 0.01). Conclusions 2D-STI is feasible for assessing myocardial viability, and the peak systolic strain rate might be the most reliable predictor of myocardial viability in patients with AMI.展开更多

To solve the problem that multiple agents cannot effectively track the target while avoiding obstacle in dynamic environment, a novel control algorithm based on potential function and behavior rules is proposed. Meanwhile, the interactions among agents are also considered. According to the state whether an agent is within the area of its neighbors' influence, two kinds of potential functions are presented. Meanwhile, the distributed control input of each agent is determined by relative velocities as well as relative positions among agents, target and obstacle. The maximum linear speed of the agents is also discussed. Finally, simulation studies are given to demonstrate the performance of the proposed algorithm.展开更多

The tracked object is the statistical information of a given target probability density function (PDF), rather than a deterministic signal. Following B-spline approximation to the integrated performance function, the concerned problem is transferred into the tracking of given weights. Different from the previous related works, the time delay T-S fuzzy models with the exogenous disturbances are applied to identify the nonlinear weighting dynamics. Meanwhile, the generalized PID controller structure and the improved convex linear matrix inequalities (LMI) algorithms are proposed to fulfil the tracking problem. Furthermore, in order to enhance the robust performance, the peak-to-peak measure index is applied to optimize the tracking performance. Simulations are given to demonstrate the efficiency of the proposed approach.展开更多

文摘This paper investigates the prescribed-time control(PTC) problem for a class of strict-feedback systems subject to non-vanishing uncertainties. Both the theoretical analysis and numerical simulation confirm the effectiveness of the proposed control algorithm.

文摘In this paper, the problem of adaptive tracking control for a class of nonlinear large scale systems with unknown parameters entering linearly is discussed. Based on the theory of input output linearization of nonlinear systems, direct adaptive control schemes are presented to achieve bounded tracking. The proposed control schemes are robust with respect to the uncertainties in interconnection structure as well as subsystem dynamics. A numerical example is given to illustrate the efficiency of this method.
文摘Visual object-tracking is a fundamental task applied in many applications of computer vision. The computational power and the scalability of the proposed particle filter in single object tracking have been enhanced as well.
文摘Background Identifying the transmural extent of myocardial necrosis and the degree of myocardial viability in acute myocardial infarction (AMI) is important clinically. Conclusions 2D-STI is feasible for assessing myocardial viability, and the peak systolic strain rate might be the most reliable predictor of myocardial viability in patients with AMI.

文摘This paper considers the problems of target tracking and obstacle avoidance for multi-agent systems. Finally, simulation studies are given to demonstrate the performance of the proposed algorithm.

文摘This paper focuses on the H_∞ model reference tracking control for a switched linear parameter-varying(LPV)model representing an aero-engine. The switched LPV aeroengine model is built based on a family of linearized models.Multiple parameter-dependent Lyapunov functions technique is used to design a tracking control law for the desirable H_∞ tracking performance. A control synthesis condition is formulated in terms of the solvability of a matrix optimization problem.Simulation result on the aero-engine model shows the feasibility and validity of the switching tracking control scheme.

文摘A new robust proportional-integral-derivative (PID) tracking control framework is considered for stochastic systems with non-Gaussian variable based on B-spline neural network approximation and T-S fuzzy model identification. Simulations are given to demonstrate the efficiency of the proposed approach.

文摘This paper investigates the consensus tracking problems of second-order multi-agent systems with a virtual leader via event-triggered control. A novel distributed event-triggered transmission scheme is proposed, which is intermittently examined at constant sampling instants. Only partial neighbor information and local measurements are required for event detection. Then the corresponding event-triggered consensus tracking protocol is presented to guarantee second-order multi-agent systems to achieve consensus tracking. Numerical simulations are given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed strategy.
文摘A robust delay compensator has been developed for a class of uncertain nonlinear systems with an unknown constant input delay. The control law consists of feedback terms based on the integral of past control values and a novel filtered tracking error, capable of compensating for input delays.Suitable Lyapunov-Krasovskii functionals are used to prove global uniformly ultimately bounded(GUUB)tracking, provided certain sufficient gain conditions, dependent on the bound of the delay, are satisfied.Simulation results illustrate the performance and robustness of the controller for different values of input delay.
