The excavated three tombs are all ...In 1997, the Guangzhou Municipal Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology carried out a rescuing excavation of the ancient tombs discovered at Hengzhigang Road in Guangzhou City. The excavated three tombs are all wooden-chambered earth pits and belong to the middle and late Western Han period. They yielded 103 objects, including chiefly pottery, and also a small number of bronzes, talcum articles and crystal and agate beads. The pottery is principally hard clay ware grayish-white in body, coated with yellowish-brown glaze, mostly decorated with designs, and bearing cut signs in some cases. The excavation provided new material for studying the tomb shape and burial custom of this period.展开更多
