This bi-annual workshop is the preeminent international gathering of the electromagnetic geophysics research community which held by the International Union of Geodesy and Geophysics(IUGG) and the International Association of Geomagnetism and Aeronomy(IAGA).It allows researchers to present their latest research results, to exchange new scientific ideas and to promote international cooperation,was called the Olympic game in the electromagnetic induction.The 19th International Workshop on Electromagnetic Induction in the Earth(19EMIW) was held the first workshop in Beijing, China during 23-29 October 2008. The Post Workshop of the 19th International Workshop on Electromagnetic Induction in the Earth was held at Chengdu in Sichuan Province, China, 31 Oct-4 Nov 2008, by Key Lab of Earth Exploration and Information Techniques of Ministry of Education, Chengdu University of Technology, and Institute of Geology and Geophysics, CAS. The theme is deep structures, dynamics on Tibetan Plateau and recent advances Wenchuan earthquake (Ms 8.0). The Post Workshop of 19EMIW had a record number of delegates, over 120, from many difference countries. During the five days of conference over 30 talks were presented, interspersed with several periods of animated discussion. Two field excursion were held, Wenchuan Earthquake Disaster Area across the Longmenshan mountains, and a post-conference trip from Xigaze to Lhasa the southern of the Qinghai-Tibetan plateau.展开更多
