Local minimum is a most intractable but is an encountered frequently problem in potential field based robot navigation.Through appointing appropriately some virtual local targets on the journey, it can be solved effectively. The key concept employed in this algorithm are the rules that govern when and how to appoint these virtual local targets. When the robot finds itself in danger of local minimum, a virtual local target is appointed to replace the global goal temporarily according to the rules. After the virtual target is reached, the robot continues on its journey by heading towards the global goal. The algorithm prevents the robot from running into local minima anymore. Simulation results showed that it is very effective in complex obstacle environments.展开更多

Very few of the existing methods can yield a globally optimal...Many engineering optimization problems frequently encounter continuous variables and discrete variables which adds considerably to the solution complexity. Very few of the existing methods can yield a globally optimal solution when the objective functions are non-convex and non-differentiable. This paper presents a hybrid swarm intelligence ap-proach (HSIA) for solving these nonlinear optimization problems which contain integer, discrete, zero-one and continuous variables. HSIA provides an improvement in global search reliability in a mixed-variable space and converges steadily to a good solution. An approach to handle various kinds of variables and constraints is discussed. Comparison testing of several examples of mixed-variable optimization problems in the literature showed that the proposed approach is superior to current methods for finding the best solution, in terms of both solution quality and algorithm robustness.展开更多

This work i s a first attempt to develop a theoretical formula for the equilibrium bed-conce n tration of any fraction of nonuniform sediment defined at the bed-surface. The f ormula is based on a stochastic-mechanistic model for the exchange of nonunifor m sediment near the bed, and described as a function of incipient motion probabil ity, non-ceasing probability, pick-up probability, and the ratio of the averag e single-step continuous motion time to static time. Comparison of bed-concentra ti on calculated from the proposed formula with the measured data showed satisfacto ry agreement, indicating the present formula can be used for solving the differe ntial equation governing the motion of suspended load.展开更多

The magneticfield of the disc-type MR fluid damper is analysed by the finite element method ; the controllability of the disctype MR fluid damper on the dynamic behaviour of a rotor system ; and the effectiveness of the disc-type MR fluid damper in controlling the vibration of a rotor system, are studied in a flexible rotor system with an over-hung disc. It is shown that the magnetic flux density of the disc-type MR fluid damper in the working areas can significantly change with the applied current in the coil ; and that the dynamic behavior of the disc-type MR fluid damper can be varied by the application of an external magnetic field produced by a low voltage electromagnetic coil. The disc-type MR fluid damper can significantly change the dynamic characteristics of a rotor system, provided that the location of the disk-type MR fluid damper is carefully chosen. The disc-type MR fluid damper is a new actuator with good dynamic characteristics for rotating machinery.展开更多

Due to its importance to GA, the authors of this paper study its influence on the diversity of genes in the same locus, and point out that traditional mutation, to some extent, can result in premature convergence of genes (PCG) in the same locus. The above drawback of the traditional mutation operator causes the loss of critical alleles. Inspired by digital technique, we introduce two kinds of boolean operation into GA to develop a novel mutation operator and discuss its contribution to preventing the loss of critical alleles. The experimental results of function optimization show that the improved mutation operator can effectively prevent premature convergence, and can provide a wide selection range of control parameters for GA.展开更多

The new inverter can: (1) generate almost sinusoidal waveform voltage while only switching one time per fundamental cycle; (2) dispense with multi pulse inverters' transformers used in conventional utility interfaces and static var compensators; (3) enables direct parallel or series transformer less connection to medium and high voltage power systems. In short, the cascade inverter is much more efficient and suitable for utility applications than traditional multi pulse and pulse width modulation (PWM) inverters. The authors have experimentally demonstrated the superiority of the new inverter for power supply, (hybrid) electric vehicle (EV) motor drive, reactive power (var) and harmonic compensation. This paper summarizes the features, feasibility, and control schemes of the cascade inverter for utility applications including utility interface of renewable energy, voltage regulation, var compensation, and harmonic filtering in power systems. Through properly designing the neural network plant model and neural network controller, the chaotic dynamical systems are controlled while the parameters of the BP neural network are modified. Dynamic responses and Lyapunov exponents show that chaos and limit cycles will arise for some ranges of load torque with certain PI speed controller setting. Stable drives are required for conventional applications, but chaotic rotation can promote efficiency or improve dynamic characteristics of drives. The developed control scheme allows chaos control in spite of modeling errors and parametric variations. At first, the problem is divided into two parts, the optimal rotor slots and the optimization of other dimensions. Before optimizing the rotor slots with genetic algorithm ( GA), the second part is solved with TABU algorithm to simplify the problem. This paper deals with the experiemental study on the correlation between the geometrical parameters of electrical tree and corresponding partial discharge (PD) characteristic parameters in the course of eletrical tree...This paper deals with the experiemental study on the correlation between the geometrical parameters of electrical tree and corresponding partial discharge (PD) characteristic parameters in the course of eletrical tree aging within cross linked polyethylene (XLPE) insulation. The electrical tree aging tests were performed on specimens removed from a section of 220 kV transmission cable. The PD macroscopic characteristic parameters were found to be significantly dependent on the corresponding geometrical parameters of eletrical tree channels in the course of aging of XLPE, and different kind of electrical tree has different characteristics, and there is obvious correlation between the type of electrical tree and the pre-applied power-frequency stress. Beside, using regression analysis, the expression of the relation between them were obtained, and from which it can be seen that there is significant nonlinear correlation between geometrical parameters of electrical tree and corresponding PD characteristic parameters in the course of aging of XLPE. Therefore, the aging degree of XLPE can be effectively evaluated by recognizing the changing regularity of the PD macroscopic characteristic parameters. Simulation of the process of an asynchronized turbogenerator with faults of d or q axis or d and q axes in the excitation system was carried out with the simulating models including the model of the reverse thyristors in the excitation system established by Saber software. The simulation results show that at the loss of excitation at both windings or one winding of the rotor, the ASTGs can be automatically driven into an asynchronous or single axis excitation operation mode without a power unit tripping, and the characteristics for ASTGs with faults in the excitation system appear in good order.展开更多

Because electricity prices are strongly dependent on load and gas prices, the authors constructed a model for electricity prices based on the effects of these two factors; and used the Geometric Mean Reversion Brownian Motion (GMRBM) model to describe the electricity load process, and a Geometric Brownian Motion(GBM) model to describe the gas prices; deduced the price stochastic process model based on the above load model and gas price model. This paper also presents methods for parameters estimation, and proposes some methods to solve the model.
文摘This paper deals with the experiemental study on the correlation between the geometrical parameters of electrical tree and corresponding partial discharge (PD) characteristic parameters in the course of eletrical tree aging within cross linked polyethylene (XLPE) insulation. The electrical tree aging tests were performed on specimens removed from a section of 220 kV transmission cable. The PD macroscopic characteristic parameters were found to be significantly dependent on the corresponding geometrical parameters of eletrical tree channels in the course of aging of XLPE, and different kind of electrical tree has different characteristics, and there is obvious correlation between the type of electrical tree and the pre-applied power-frequency stress. Beside, using regression analysis, the expression of the relation between them were obtained, and from which it can be seen that there is significant nonlinear correlation between geometrical parameters of electrical tree and corresponding PD characteristic parameters in the course of aging of XLPE. Therefore, the aging degree of XLPE can be effectively evaluated by recognizing the changing regularity of the PD macroscopic characteristic parameters. 文摘The control strategy for asynchronized turbogenerators (ASTGs) was studied by using two-axis equations. Simulation of the process of an asynchronized turbogenerator with faults of d or q axis or d and q axes in the excitation system was carried out with the simulating models including the model of the reverse thyristors in the excitation system established by Saber software. The simulation results show that at the loss of excitation at both windings or one winding of the rotor, the ASTGs can be automatically driven into an asynchronous or single axis excitation operation mode without a power unit tripping, and the characteristics for ASTGs with faults in the excitation system appear in good order.
