To improve the data transmission rate and use spectrum flexibly, a new spectrum allocation method for Multiband Impulse Radio UWB (MB-IR-UWB) is proposed in this paper based on the band-limited and orthogonal characteristics of Prolate Spheroidal Wave Function (PSWF). The system model is built and the bit error rate (BER) formula is deprived by binary time hopping pulse position modulation under additive white Gaussian noise. Moreover, the system performance is analyzed via MATLB simulation. The results indicate that MB-IR-UWB system performance of BER is the same with single-band UWB. However, in the proposed scheme the data can be transmitted in multiple parallel bands, which enjoys much higher transmission rate. In addition, PSWF pulse duration affects the BER performance. 展开更多

This paper aims to evaluate a listening textbook that is used by English major university students in China.Three research questions are proposed which are:(1) What are the students'per ceptions about the listening textbook? (2) What are the teachers'opinions about the listening textbook? (3) To what extent do students and teachers perceptions match? In order to answer these three research questions,questionnaires were designed for both students and teachers to obtain the data.This study is supported both qualitatively and quantitatively.The data of this research suggested that both students and teachers have found advantages of this listening textbook,which they may find helpful for their learning and teaching,but they are also not satisfied with some aspects of the textbook,which they think need further improvement.The students'and teachers'opinions to some extent have reached some agreement about the textbook,but students may not be so enthusiastic about the textbook,while the teachers may show much reliance on the text book.This study has its limitations,but it also provides some insights for teachers and textbook writers. 展开更多

With the rapid growth of internet usage,a new situation has been created that enables practicing bullying.Cyberbullying has increased over the past decade,and it has the same adverse effects as face-to-face bullying,like anger,sadness,anxiety,and fear.With the anonymity people get on the internet,they tend to bemore aggressive and express their emotions freely without considering the effects,which can be a reason for the increase in cyberbullying and it is the main motive behind the current study.This study presents a thorough background of cyberbullying and the techniques used to collect,preprocess,and analyze the datasets.Moreover,a comprehensive review of the literature has been conducted to figure out research gaps and effective techniques and practices in cyberbullying detection in various languages,and it was deduced that there is significant room for improvement in the Arabic language.As a result,the current study focuses on the investigation of shortlisted machine learning algorithms in natural language processing(NLP)for the classification of Arabic datasets duly collected from Twitter(also known as X).In this regard,support vector machine(SVM),Naive Bayes(NB),Random Forest(RF),Logistic regression(LR),Bootstrap aggregating(Bagging),Gradient Boosting(GBoost),Light Gradient Boosting Machine(LightGBM),Adaptive Boosting(AdaBoost),and eXtreme Gradient Boosting(XGBoost)were shortlisted and investigated due to their effectiveness in the similar problems.Finally,the scheme was evaluated by well-known performance measures like accuracy,precision,Recall,and F1-score.Consequently,XGBoost exhibited the best performance with 89.95%accuracy,which is promising compared to the state-of-the-art. 展开更多

In recent years,nanogenerators(NGs)have attracted wide attention in the energy field,among which triboelectric nanogenerators(TENGs)have shown superior performance.Multiple reports of electrospinning(ES)-based TENGs have been reported,but there is a lack of deep analysis of the designing method from microstructure,limiting the creative of new ES-based TENGs.Most TENGs use polymer materials to achieve corresponding design,which requires structural design of polymer materials.The existing polymer molding design methods include macroscopic molding methods,such as injection,compression,extrusion,calendering,etc.,combined with liquid-solid changes such as soluting and melting;it also includes micro-nano molding technology,such as melt-blown method,coagulation bath method,ES method,and nanoimprint method.In fact,ES technology has good controllability of thickness dimension and rich means of nanoscale structure regulation.At present,these characteristics have not been reviewed.Therefore,in this paper,we combine recent reports with some microstructure regulation functions of ES to establish a more general TENGs design method.Based on the rich microstructure research results in the field of ES,much more new types of TENGs can be designed in the future. 展开更多

Esophageal squamous cell carcinoma(ESCC) is the predominant histolo... Esophageal cancer(EC) caused about 395000 deaths in 2010. China has the most cases of EC and EC is the fourth leading cause of cancer death in China. Esophageal squamous cell carcinoma(ESCC) is the predominant histologic type(90%-95%), while the incidence of esophageal adenocarcinoma(EAC) remains extremely low in China. Traditional epidemiological studies have revealed that environmental carcinogens are risk factors for EC. Molecular epidemiological studies revealed that susceptibility to EC is influenced by both environmental and genetic risk factors. Of all the risk factors for EC, some are associated with the risk of ESCC and others with the risk of EAC. However, the details and mechanisms of risk factors involved in the process for EC are unclear. The advanced methods and techniques used in human genome studies bring a great opportunity for researchers to explore and identify the details of those risk factors or susceptibility genes involved inthe process of EC. Human genome epidemiology is a new branch of epidemiology, which leads the epidemiology study from the molecular epidemiology era to the era of genome wide association studies(GWAS). Here we review the epidemiological studies of EC(especially ESCC) in the era of GWAS, and provide an overview of the general risk factors and those genomic variants(genes, SNPs, miRNAs, proteins) involved in the process of ESCC. 展开更多

Rockburst happens along an obvious south-north orientation. The ground and surrounding rock stresses are measured in this mine. The research indicates that the directivity of rockburst is closely related to geological structure and to abnormal distri-bution of ground stress in some parts of the mining area. The mechanism of past rockbursts is discussed based upon the theory of fracture mechanics. Some rockburst release measures and their execution in the Yinxin Gold Mine are de-scribed. For anomaly detection,anomalies existing in the background will affect the detection performance.Accordingly,a background refinement method based on the local density is proposed to remove the anomalies from thebackground.In this work,the local density is measured by its spectral neighbors through a certain radius which is obtained by calculating the mean median of the distance matrix.Further,a two-step segmentation strategy is designed.The first segmentation step divides the original background into two subsets,a large subset composed by background pixels and a small subset containing both background pixels and anomalies.The second segmentation step employing Otsu method with an aim to obtain a discrimination threshold is conducted on the small subset.Then the pixels whose local densities are lower than the threshold are removed.Finally,to validate the effectiveness of the proposed method,it combines Reed-Xiaoli detector and collaborative-representation-based detector to detect anomalies.Experiments are conducted on two real hyperspectral datasets.Results show that the proposed method achieves better detection performance. 展开更多

We have studied the effect of the spontaneously generated coherence (SGC) on gain of lasing without inversion (LWI) in a closed three-level A-type atomic system with Doppler broadening. It is shown that, regardless of the driving and probe fields being co- or counter-propagating, at a suitable value of the Doppler width, we can obtain a much larger LWI gain with SGC than that without SGC; and the region of the LWI gain spectrum with SGC is obviously larger than that without SGC. When the Doppler width takes a constant value, the gain does not monotonically decrease or increase with increasing strength of SGC, the largest LWI gain can be obtained by adjusting strength of SGC. Generally speaking, the co-propagating probe and driving fields is favourable to obtain a larger LWI gain. 展开更多

In this article, the electrochemical performance of the electrodes of zinc polycrystal, Zn(002) and Zn(100) single crystals were studied by the Tafel line extrapolation of the potentio-dynamic polarization curves, the cyclic voltammetry and the charge/discharge experiment. The results shows that in 6.0 mol·L^-1 KOH solution the corrosion rate of Zn polycrystal, Zn(100) and Zn(002) single crystals decreases in turn; and the reversibility and the charge/discharge performance of Zn single crystal was superior to Zn polycrystal. The dendrite growth of the surface of Zn polycrvstal was easier than Zn single crystal during the stages of charge/discharge. 展开更多

The fabrication and performance of 160-nm gate-length metamorphic AlInAs/GaInAs high electron mobility transistors (mHEMTs) grown on GaAs substrate by metal organic chemical vapour deposition (MOCVD) are reported. By using a novel combined optical and e-beam photolithography technology, submicron mHEMTs devices have been achieved. The devices exhibit good DC and RF performance. The maximum current density was 817 mA/mm and the maximum transconductance was 828 mS/mm. The non-alloyed Ohmic contact resistance Rc was as low as 0.02 Ω- ram. The unity current gain cut-off frequency (fT) and the maximum oscillation frequency (fmax) were 146 GHz and 189 GHz, respectively. This device has the highest fT yet reported for a 160-nm gate-length HEMTs grown by MOCVD. The output conductance is 28.9 mS/mm, which results in a large voltage gain of 28.6, Also, an input capacitance to gate-drain feedback capacitance ratio, Cgs/Cgd, of 4.3 is obtained in the device. 展开更多

Nowadays, hybrid satellite-terrestrial cooperative network has emerged as a key technology to provide a great variety of communication services. The deployment of this network will improve coverage and capacity in remote areas. Despite the benefits of this network, by increasing the number of users, communication efficiency based on interference management is a major challenge in satellite-based system. Also, the direct links between satellite system and the terrestrial equipment do not always have desirable channel condition. In order to avoid serious throughput degradation, choosing a cooperative relay node is very important. In this paper, Stackelberg game is exploited for interference management that is raised by satellites in down link over terrestrial equipment. Then, for interference management between ground station and relay node with other mobile users, CVX is used to allocate optimum power. Also, the best relay node in this structure is selected based on the harmonic mean function. Thus, the performance of the heterogeneous satellite-cooperative network is investigated based on three benchmarks, namely, successful transmission, energy consumption and outage probability. Finally, the simulation results showed the effect of proposed system model on the performance of next generation satellite networks. 展开更多

This paper described the main four basic models of ideal landscape in the Mount Lushan National Park as Kunlunshan model, Xumishan model, Peach flower land model, Christian model. Five typical places in Mount Lushan with the ideal landscape characteristics like the East Grove Temple, White Deer Cave Academy, Simplicity and Tranquility Monastery, Lushan Valley, and Villa-cluster of the East Valley were analyzed, and the integration of the basic models for each place was discussed to make the realistic landscape conform to the ideal needs. Moreover, the discussions also involved the characteristics of ideal landscape that are featured in resource, culture, structure, function, process, scale and region. In conclusion, ideal landscape in the Mount Lushan National Park was the product of the interaction between human and nature. Mount Lushan inherits the essence of Chinese traditional culture with a history of more than 1000 years; and it also absorbs the manna of the Western culture as well as the exchanges between nature and humanities together with the conflict and adaptation among different cultures. This paper studies the dispersion characteristics of a modified photonic band-gap slow-wave structure with an open boundary by simulation and experiment. A mode launcher with a wheel radiator and a coupling probe is presented to excite a pure TM01-like mode. The cold test and simulation results show that the TM01-like mode is effectively excited and no parasitic modes appear. The dispersion characteristics obtained from the cold test are in good agreement with the calculated results. 展开更多

The structural-acoustic coupling model for isotropic thin elastic plate was extended to honeycomb sandwich plate(HSP) by applying Green function method.Then an equivalent circuit model of the weakly-strongly coupled system was proposed.Based on that,the estimation formulae of the coupled eigenfrequency were derived.The accuracy of the theoretical predictions was checked against experimental data,with good agreement achieved.Finally,the effects of HSP design parameters on the system coupling degree,the acoustic cavity eigenfrequency,and sound pressure response were analyzed.The results show that mechanical and acoustical characteristics of HSP can be improved by increasing the thickness of face sheet and reducing the mass density of material. 展开更多

Dry FGD (Flue Gas Desulfurization) ash produced from iron industry is used as the main raw material to prepare recyclable wastewater phosphorus removal materials through non-burned process. By testing various formulae and preparation conditions, this paper discusses the different results of phosphorus removal efficiency of the samples to figure out which is the best formula. Spectrophotometric determination with phosphor molybdenum blue is used to determine the phosphorus concentration. Flexural strength and porosity are determined correspondingly as well. By applying SEM and EDS techniques, the microstructure change of the sample is characterized after phosphorus removal. The best formula is that prepared by using 84wt% of FGD ash and 16wt% of cement. The flexural strength of the sample is 12.15 MPa, and the porosity is 20.5%. Microstructure analysis indicates that phosphate adsorption occurs mainly on the surface of the material. 展开更多

In multi-user multiple input multiple output (MU-MIMO) systems, the outdated channel state information at the transmit- ter caused by channel time variation has been shown to greatly reduce the achievable ergodic sum capacity. A simple yet effec- tive solution to this problem is presented by designing a channel extrapolator relying on Karhunen-Loeve (KL) expansion of time- varying channels. In this scheme, channel estimation is done at the base station (BS) rather than at the user terminal (UT), which thereby dispenses the channel parameters feedback from the UT to the BS. Moreover, the inherent channel correlation and the parsimonious parameterization properties of the KL expan- sion are respectively exploited to reduce the channel mismatch error and the computational complexity. Simulations show that the presented scheme outperforms conventional schemes in terms of both channel estimation mean square error (MSE) and ergodic capacity. 展开更多
