Methods We developed a JAVA program for searching short exact sequence matches at C-terminus. According to the known C-termini, which PDZ domains recognized experimentally, Swissprot database has been searched by this program for all potential ligands. Results Some PDZ domains may have more potential ligand proteins, which are undiscovered yet experimentally. These bioinformatic results also provide clues for studying functions of hypothetical proteins and PDZ domains’ protein interactions in many different organisms. Conclusion The results may provide useful clues for discovering potential functions of hypothetical proteins and new functions of known proteins.展开更多

It is provedthat all the signals in the adaptive control system are globally uniformly bounded, and the regulationerror converges to zero asymptotically. In order to solve this problem, this paper considers some other algorithms in which local models are identified independently and presents a multi-model identification algorithm based on weighted cost function, which uses the idea of local weighted regression and local approximation while keeps the model structure of global identification algorithm. The result of application to a 300MW unit boiler superheater illustrates that the multi-model generated by the proposed algorithm has better trade-off between global fitting and local interpretation.展开更多

Compared with thetraditional control, the proposed control strategy gets better temperature tracing accuracy andexhibits some energy saving feature. A novel software sensor is propos...It has long been thought that a reheating furnace, with its inherent measurement difficulties and complex dynamics, posed almost insurmountable problems to engineers in steel plants. A novel software sensor is proposed to make more effective use of those measurements that are already available, which has great importance both to slab quality and energy saving. The proposed method is based on the mixtures of Gaussian processes (GP) with the expectation maximization (EM) algorithm employed for parameter esti- mation of the mixture of models. The mixture model can alleviate the computational complexity of GP and also accords with the changes of operating condition in practical processes. It is demonstrated by on-line estimation of the furnace gas temperature in 1580 reheating furnace in Baosteel Corporation (Group).展开更多

A new linear matrix inequality (LMI) characterization of the H∞ performance for discrete systems is given by introducing a matrix slack variable which decouples the matrix of a Lyapunov function candidate and the parametric matrices of the system. This feature enables one to derive sufficient conditions for discrete uncertain systems by using parameter-dependent Lyapunov functions with less conservativeness. Based on the result, H∞ performance analysis and controller design are carried out. A numerical example is included to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed results.展开更多

Unit 1 of Yuanbaoshan power plant in China. Load following operation of coal-fired boiler-turbine unit in the power plant leads to changes in operating points which result in nonlinear variations of the plant variables and parameters. For the variation of operating condition and slowly varying dynamics, an intelligent control scheme has been developed by combining fuzzy self-tuning with adaptive control and auto-tuning techniques. As there exist strong couplings between control loops of main steam pressure and power output in the unit, a new design for static decoupler aimed at decoupling for setpoints and unmeasured pulverized coal disturbance of the system at the same time is presented. Satisfactory industrial application results show that such a control system has enhanced adaptability and robustness to the complex process, and better control performance and high economic benefit have been obtained.展开更多

H...For LAMOST, the largest sky survey program in China, the solution of the problem of automatic discrimination of stars from galaxies by spectra has shown that the results of the PSF test can be significantly refined. However, the problem is made worse when the redshifts of galaxies are not available. We present a new automatic method of star/(normal) galaxy separation, which is based on Statistical Mixture Modeling with Radial Basis Function Neural Networks (SMM-RBFNN). This work is a continuation of our previous one, where active and non-active celestial objects were successfully segregated. By combining the method in this paper and the previous one, stars can now be effectively separated from galaxies and AGNs by their spectra-a major goal of LAMOST, and an indispensable step in any automatic spectrum classification system. In our work, the training set includes standard stellar spectra from Jacoby's spectrum library and simulated galaxy spectra of EO, SO, Sa, Sb types with redshift ranging from 0 to 1.2, and the test set of stellar spectra from Pickles' atlas and SDSS spectra of normal galaxies with SNR of 13. Experiments show that our SMM-RBFNN is more efficient in both the training and testing stages than the BPNN (back propagation neural networks), and more importantly, it can achieve a good classification accuracy of 99.22% and 96.52%, respectively for stars and normal galaxies.展开更多

This paper proposes the composite control based on Dahlin algorithm feedback control and neural network feedforward predictive compensation online for ABR (available bit rate) communication in ATM (asynchronous transfer mode) networks, which can overcome the adverse effect caused by the delay on the control rapidity and stability better. The theoretical analysis and simulation research show that the scheme can make sources respond to the changes of network status rapidly, avoid the congestion effectively and utilize the bandwidth sufficiently. Compared with PID (proportional-integral-derivative) control, cell loss rate is much lower, link utilization rate is much higher, and required buffer capacity is much smaller.展开更多

We present a new automatic method of star/(normal) galaxy separation, which is based on Statistical Mixture Modeling with Radial Basis Function Neural Networks (SMM-RBFNN). This work is a continuation of our previous one, where active and non-active celestial objects were successfully segregated. By combining the method in this paper and the previous one, stars can now be effectively separated from galaxies and AGNs by their spectra-a major goal of LAMOST, and an indispensable step in any automatic spectrum classification system. In our work, the training set includes standard stellar spectra from Jacoby's spectrum library and simulated galaxy spectra of EO, SO, Sa, Sb types with redshift ranging from 0 to 1.2, and the test set of stellar spectra from Pickles' atlas and SDSS spectra of normal galaxies with SNR of 13. Experiments show that our SMM-RBFNN is more efficient in both the training and testing stages than the BPNN (back propagation neural networks), and more importantly, it can achieve a good classification accuracy of 99.22% and 96.52%, respectively for stars and normal galaxies.
文摘The propagation delay in networks has a great adverse effect on rote-based traffic control. This paper proposes the composite control based on Dahlin algorithm feedback control and neural network feedforward predictive compensation online for ABR (available bit rate) communication in ATM (asynchronous transfer mode) networks, which can overcome the adverse effect caused by the delay on the control rapidity and stability better. The theoretical analysis and simulation research show that the scheme can make sources respond to the changes of network status rapidly, avoid the congestion effectively and utilize the bandwidth sufficiently. Compared with PID (proportional-integral-derivative) control, cell loss rate is much lower, link utilization rate is much higher, and required buffer capacity is much smaller.
