Bimetallic nanoparticles exhibit a synergistic effect that critically depends on their surface composition,but such promotion mechanisms become vague with varying surface compositions.Here,alumina supported Ag@Pd core...Bimetallic nanoparticles exhibit a synergistic effect that critically depends on their surface composition,but such promotion mechanisms become vague with varying surface compositions.Here,alumina supported Ag@Pd core–shell and PdAg alloy structure with controlled size and surface compositions were prepared to demonstrate synergetic mechanisms,particularly,ligand and strain effects on activity and ethylene selectivity for acetylene hydrogenation.The performance evaluation indicates that Ag@Pd catalysts with well-controlled Pd-shell thickness can effectively lower apparent activation energy and improve ethylene selectivity.Hydrogenation activity increases from 0.019 to 0.062 s^(-1) with decreasing Pd-shell thickness under mild conditions,which is 3–6 times higher than their alloyed and monometallic counterparts.Combined characterizations and density functional theory are conducted to reveal such shell-thickness-dependent performance.The ligand effect arising from Ag alloying in the interface of Ag@Pd2ML observes the strongest binding of acetylene,but it diminished sharply and the strain effect gets more prevailing with increasing shell thickness.The competition of ethylene desorption and deephydrogenation were also investigated to understand the selectivity governing factors,and the selectivity descriptor(0.5BE(C_(2)H_(4))–BE(H))was built to match the contribution of ligand and strain effect on the different surfaces of Pd-Ag bimetallic NPs.The exploration of synergetic mechanisms among bimetallic NPs with varied structure and surface compositions in this work can help us to deepen the understanding catalyst structure–activity relationship and provide a feasible way to optimize the overall catalytic performance.展开更多

In this paper, under null hypothesi...The rank-sum test is a nonparametric method used in variety evaluation. However, the hypothesis testing of the method hasn't been established for multi-trait comprehensive ranking. In this paper, under null hypothesis H0: the variety's ranking on each trait is random, the theoretical distribution of sum of ranks (SR) was firstly derived and further used to obtain the critical values for multi-trait comprehensive evaluation in rank-sum testing. A new C++ class and its basic arithmetic were defined to deal with the miscount caused by the precision limitation of built-in data type in common statistical software under large number of varieties and traits. Finally, an application of the theoretical results was demonstrated using five starch viscosity traits of 12 glutinous maize varieties. The proposed method is so simple and convenient that it can be easily used to rank different varieties by multiple traits.展开更多
An external weak electric field is introduced into the small-world networks of Hodgkin–Huxley neurons to study the control and breakup of a spiral wave.The effect of an external electric field on the neurons in the s...An external weak electric field is introduced into the small-world networks of Hodgkin–Huxley neurons to study the control and breakup of a spiral wave.The effect of an external electric field on the neurons in the small-world network is described by an additive perturbation on the membrane potentials of neurons at the cellular level,in which an additive term VE is imposed on the physiological membrane potential.A statistical factor of synchronization is used to measure the collective behaviour of spiral waves by changing the electric field;it is confirmed that a smaller factor of synchronization is associated with the survival of a spiral wave.In the case of no channel noise,the spiral wave could be removed under a certain intensity of constant electric field;it keeps robustly to the weak electric field when the electric field changes periodically.In the case of weak channel noise,a breakup of the spiral wave is observed when the intensity of the electric field exceeds certain thresholds,which could be measured from the curve for synchronization factors.No drift of the spiral wave is observed under the weak electric field.展开更多

Propane dehydrogenation(PDH)is an efficient technology for the direct production of propylene.Nevertheless,current PDH catalysts mainly rely on precious Pt or toxic Cr and especially undergo severe coke deposition.Her...Propane dehydrogenation(PDH)is an efficient technology for the direct production of propylene.Nevertheless,current PDH catalysts mainly rely on precious Pt or toxic Cr and especially undergo severe coke deposition.Herein,we report a Ru catalyst decorated by boron species(Ru-3B/Al_(2)O_(3)),which exhibits high catalytic performance for PDH.HAADF-STEM,EELS,and CO-FTIR characterization are used to identify the surface structure of the Ru active component,which shows that the high-energy unsaturated coordination sites,including corners,edges and step atoms for Ru-3B/Al_(2)O_(3),are appropriately modified by BO_(x)species.The encapsulation of high-energy active sites prone to Csingle bondC cracking and deep dehydrogenation leads to higher propylene selectivity(>95%)and strong carbon resistance(kd 0.0007 min)over Ru-3B/Al_(2)O_(3).The XPS and H2-TPR results show that the migration of B species is driven by the reduction of B_(2)O_(3)to B2O2 and that the coating degree of Ru particles is controlled by the chemical valance of Ru species.展开更多
A new smooth potassium dititanate film was prepared by sol-gel method and characterized by thermogravimetry(TG)and differential scanning calorimetry(DSC),X-ray diffraction(XRD),atomic force microscopy(AFM),UV-Visible ...A new smooth potassium dititanate film was prepared by sol-gel method and characterized by thermogravimetry(TG)and differential scanning calorimetry(DSC),X-ray diffraction(XRD),atomic force microscopy(AFM),UV-Visible diffuse reflectance and Raman spectroscopy.The gaseous photocatalytic activity of smooth K_(2)Ti_(2)O_(5)films was studied using contact angle analysis from the photocatalytic decomposition of octadecyltrichlorosilane(OTS)based self-assembled monolayers(SAMs)formed on K_(2)Ti_(2)O_(5)films.The photocurrent response of the film was determined by an electrochemical method.It was shown that the films were smooth,compact,and transparent when formed on glass.Compared with TiO_(2)film,the K_(2)Ti_(2)O_(5)film showed wide absorption in the ultraviolet and visible region.It was found that the monolayers on K_(2)Ti_(2)O_(5)decomposed much faster than those on TiO_(2)under UV irradiation of 254 nm in air.The film also exhibited a stronger photoresponse and a more stable anodic photocurrent.The K_(2)Ti_(2)O_(5)film efficiently decomposes the alkylsiloxane monolayers under UV irradiation in air and it was found to be a good photocatalyst for gaseous organic pollutant treatment.展开更多

文摘Propane dehydrogenation(PDH)is an efficient technology for the direct production of propylene.Nevertheless,current PDH catalysts mainly rely on precious Pt or toxic Cr and especially undergo severe coke deposition.Herein,we report a Ru catalyst decorated by boron species(Ru-3B/Al_(2)O_(3)),which exhibits high catalytic performance for PDH.HAADF-STEM,EELS,and CO-FTIR characterization are used to identify the surface structure of the Ru active component,which shows that the high-energy unsaturated coordination sites,including corners,edges and step atoms for Ru-3B/Al_(2)O_(3),are appropriately modified by BO_(x)species.The encapsulation of high-energy active sites prone to Csingle bondC cracking and deep dehydrogenation leads to higher propylene selectivity(>95%)and strong carbon resistance(kd 0.0007 min)over Ru-3B/Al_(2)O_(3).The XPS and H2-TPR results show that the migration of B species is driven by the reduction of B_(2)O_(3)to B2O2 and that the coating degree of Ru particles is controlled by the chemical valance of Ru species.

文摘A new smooth potassium dititanate film was prepared by sol-gel method and characterized by thermogravimetry(TG)and differential scanning calorimetry(DSC),X-ray diffraction(XRD),atomic force microscopy(AFM),UV-Visible diffuse reflectance and Raman spectroscopy.The gaseous photocatalytic activity of smooth K_(2)Ti_(2)O_(5)films was studied using contact angle analysis from the photocatalytic decomposition of octadecyltrichlorosilane(OTS)based self-assembled monolayers(SAMs)formed on K_(2)Ti_(2)O_(5)films.The photocurrent response of the film was determined by an electrochemical method.It was shown that the films were smooth,compact,and transparent when formed on glass.Compared with TiO_(2)film,the K_(2)Ti_(2)O_(5)film showed wide absorption in the ultraviolet and visible region.It was found that the monolayers on K_(2)Ti_(2)O_(5)decomposed much faster than those on TiO_(2)under UV irradiation of 254 nm in air.The film also exhibited a stronger photoresponse and a more stable anodic photocurrent.The K_(2)Ti_(2)O_(5)film efficiently decomposes the alkylsiloxane monolayers under UV irradiation in air and it was found to be a good photocatalyst for gaseous organic pollutant treatment.
