The Translation of Allusions in Political Discourse:An Intertextuality Perspective

drawn from ancient classics are the treasures of traditional Chinese culture.The allusions used in Xi Jinping:The Governance of China illustrate a distinctive feature of political discourse,and the publication of its English version provides a valuable opportunity for the study of allusions in translated political discourse.With the English translations of 241 allusions collected from two volumes of the book,we classified these allusions into three categories of history,culture,and literature based on their original sources.Then we analyzed the strategies used in translating the allusions,and provided typical examples to illustrate the use of such translation strategies for each category.Finally,we tried to account for the use of these strategies in light of the intertextuality theory.

A Case Study of Incorporating Sheltered Instruction into ESP Courses in China

The study describes the improvements of the participants in ESP course incorporating Sheltered Instruction Observation Protocol(SIOP) instruction in China. It aims to investigate whether or not it is effective to incorporate the sheltered instruction into ESP course and whether or not the participants will be motivated to improve their English skills for professional purposes. Quantitative and qualitative data sources were employed, including English language tests, questionnaires, and interviews.Findings reveal that the sheltered instruction was helpful to ESP course and produced significant achievements in participants' English vocabulary and skills. The most interesting result is that the participants' confidence and interest in learning professional English for future jobs has been improved much.

Optical potential approach for positron scattering by metastable 2~3S state of helium

The momentum space coupled channels optical（CCO） method for positron scattering has been extended to study the scattering of positrons by metastable helium for impact energies in the range from the positronium threshold up to high energies. Both the positronium formation and ionization continuum channels are included in the calculations via a complex equivalent local potential. The positronium formation, ionization, elastic and 2~3S–2~3P excitation, and total scattering cross sections are all presented and compared with the available information.

Effects of Klebsiella pneumoniae on Toll-Like Receptor-Dependent Endoplasmic Reticulum Stress-Related Signaling Pathways and Gene Expression and Promotes HLA-B27 Misfolding

Klebsiella has been considered as initiator of AS （ankylosing spondylitis） for nearly four decades. This study aimed to demonstrate that Klebsiella triggers ERS （endoplasmic reticulum stress） and HLA-B27 heavy chain misfolding. CA46 cells or splenocytes obtained from wild-type, MyD88/ or TLR9/ mice were stimulated with KP （Klebsiella pneumoniae） or its components including CPS （capsule polysaccharide）, LPS （lipopolysaccharide）, and KP gDNA （genomic deoxyribonucleic acid） respectively for 24 h and 48 h. The activation of ERS-related signaling was detected by Western blotting or RT-PCR, and the level of misfolded HLA-B27 was determined by non-reducing protein gel electrophoresis and Western blotting. The protein expression of BiP/Grp78 and calreticulin, the alternative splicing of XBP-1 mRNA （messenger ribonucleic acid）, and the activation of caspase-12 and p38 were increased in a dose-dependent manner in HLA-B27-expressing CA46 cells after treatment with decapsulated KP. We also demonstrate that the EP, S-inducing effects occur via the TLR （Toll-like receptor）/MyD88-dependent signaling pathway. Significantly, HLA-B27 misfolding was also detected in decapsulated KP-treated B27-expressing cells. These results suggest that the non-antigen-specific induction of ERS and B27 misfoiding through TLR/MyD88 signaling might promote KP antigen-initiated autoreactive responses via the presentation of misfolded B27, and that small-molecules targeting TLRs might have potential as novel therapeutic agents for AS.

Challenges and Strategies of Online English Learning for College Students in the Post Epidemic Era

The COVID-19 has made a significant contribution to the reform and growth of online education.It has also exposed many problems that need to be improved.This research studies challenges in online college English learning from three aspects:students,teachers,and platforms,and then puts forward strategies to optimize online English teaching.The research suggests that student’s interest and initiative in studying should be brought to the full play;teachers'information literacy and competency should be enhanced and the combination of platforms should be smartly chosen and applied.

The Cooperative Cultivating Way of Explicit Ideological and Political Education and Implicit Course Value-shaping Education in Colleges and Universities

Building morality and cultivating people is the fundamental task of ideological and political education in colleges and universities.In order to take root in the overall pattern of ideological and political education in the new era,colleges and universities must attach great importance to the role of the main channel of classroom teaching,adhere to the unity of explicit education and implicit education,discover the ideological and political education resources and functions contained in courses and teaching methods,so as to realize all staff,all-round and whole process education,make the explicit education of ideological and political courses as well as the implicit education of course-based ideology and politics work together to cultivate students.Based on the inevitable requirement of the unity of explicit education and implicit education,this paper forms a feasibility analysis of the explicit and implicit unity between ideological and political courses and course-based ideological and political education,and explores the path to achieve the goal.

Research on Practical Education of Speciality Teachers in Vocational Colleges to Promote Curriculum-based Ideological and Political Education

Curriculum-based ideological and political education is the inevitable requirement of constructing the pattern of ideological and political education in the new era.As the main leader and implementer of curriculum-based ideological and political education in vocational colleges,speciality teachers should take the fundamental task of moral education as the guidance,focus on it through curriculum,promote the organic unity of knowledge teaching,skill improvement and value guidance in the teaching process,and finally form a new ideological and political work mode in line with the requirements of“high-level vocational college and speciality”construction.At present,speciality teachers in vocational colleges have some problems in curriculum-based ideological and political education,which is mainly reflected in some speciality teachers’weak self-consciousness,poor understanding and integration ability.In order to effectively solve the problem,they have to establish the curriculum-based ideological and political education promotion mechanism led by the college Party committee,consolidate the institutional guarantee for speciality teachers in moral education,strengthen their consciousness and awareness,innovate and improve the assessment and evaluation mechanism of their dedicated education.

Pragmatic Analysis of Vague Language in CNN Economic News from the Perspective of Adaptation Theory

Vagueness is a ubiquitous phenomenon in language use.Because of its flexibility and generality,vague language is used in CN N economic news widely.From the perspective of Verschueren's adaptation theory,this paper collects ten economic news to conduct research and analyzes vague language from three aspects of adaptation theory.The result shows that adaptation to the mental world includes the readers'mental world and editors'mental world;adaptation to the physical world includes the time,space and other features of the physical world;adaptation to the social world includes the politeness and avoiding negative effect on society.

Transaction Frequency Based Trust for E-Commerce

Most traditional trust computing models in E-commerce do not take the transaction frequency among participating entities into consideration,which makes it easy for one party of the transaction to obtain a high trust value in a short time,and brings many disadvantages,uncertainties and even attacks.To solve this problem,a transaction frequency based trust is proposed in this study.The proposed method is composed of two parts.The first part is built on the classic Bayes analysis based trust modelswhich are ease of computing for the E-commerce system.The second part is the transaction frequency module which can mitigate the potential insecurity caused by one participating entity gaining trust in a short time.Simulations show that the proposed method can effectively mitigate the self-promoting attacks so as to maintain the function of E-commerce system.

A Narrative Study on Young Female English Teacher’s Emotion in Research Career in Independent University

Young female English teachers in independent college have dealt with a range of emotions over their research careers,which have influenced their research cognition and professional growth.This narrative case study purposefully selected two young female English instructors in an independent university as participants.Semi-structured interviews,narrative frames,and log records were used to look into their dynamic emotional experiences in research,ecological and environmental elements affecting their emotions,and the regulating strategies.This study gives the following three primary results:the participants transitioned from positive to negative to mostly positive emotions;there was a complicate combination of positive and negative emotions in their research growth with the positive emotions dominating;two kinds of regulating tactics are presented.
