In these models involving 2-lane,3-lane and 4-lane freeway,one detector is set every 10 m to measure section running speed. According to the simulation results,speed spatial distribution curves for traffic accident section on freeway are drawn which help to determine dangerous sections on upstream of accident section. Furthermore,the speed spatial distribution models are obtained for every speed distribution curve. The results provide theoretical basis for determination on temporal and spatial influence ranges of traffic accident and offer reference to formulation of speed limit scheme and other management measures.展开更多

Continuum robot is a new type of biomimetic robot,which realizes the motion by bending some parts of its body.So its path planning becomes more difficult even compared with hyper-redundant robots.In this paper a circu...Continuum robot is a new type of biomimetic robot,which realizes the motion by bending some parts of its body.So its path planning becomes more difficult even compared with hyper-redundant robots.In this paper a circular arc spline interpolating method is proposed for the robot shape description,and a new two-stage position-selectable-updating particle swarm optimization(TPPSO)algorithm is put forward to solve this path planning problem.The algorithm decomposes the standard PSO velocity’s single-step updating formula into twostage multi-point updating,specifically adopting three points as candidates and selecting the best one as the updated position in the first half stage,and similarly taking seven points as candidates and selecting the best one as the final position in the last half stage.This scheme refines and widens each particle’s searching trajectory,increases the updating speed of the individual best,and improves the converging speed and precision.Aiming at the optimization objective to minimize the sum of all the motion displacements of every segmental points and all the axial stretching or contracting displacements of every segment,the TPPSO algorithm is used to solve the path planning problem.The detailed solution procedure is presented.Numerical examples of five path planning cases show that the proposed algorithm is simple,robust,and efficient.展开更多

Based on the Symplectic Elasticity method, the flange slab of the box girder is simplified into a plane stress plate. Using equilibrium conditions of the plates, the Hamilton dual equations for top plate element is established. The analytical formulas of each plate element considering shear lag effect are derived. The closed polynomial effective width expression of flange slab under uniform load on the whole span length has been obtained. Through examples using the finite element method, the results obtained by the proposed method are examined and the accuracy of the proposed method is verified.展开更多

To overcome this limitation,a new vehicle positioning method based on radio frequency identification( RFID) is proposed. First RFID base stations are divided into three categories using fuzzy technology,and then Chan algorithm is used to calculate three vehicles' positions,which are weighed to acquire vehicles' accurate position. This method can effectively overcome the problem that vehicle positioning accuracy is not high resulting from the factors such as ambient noise and base distribution when Chan algorithm is used. Experimental results show that the performance of the proposed method is superior to Chan algorithm and 2-step algorithm based on averaging method,which can satisfy the requirements of vehicle positioning in VANETs.展开更多

Based on the stochastic finite element method (SFEM) for a seepage field, the variable metric algorithm and the generalized Bayesian method, formulas for stochastic back analysis of the permeability coefficient were derived. A case study of seepage analysis of a sluice foundation was performed to illustrate the proposed method. The results indicate that, with the generalized Bayesian method that considers the uncertainties of measured hydraulic head, the permeability coefficient and the hydraulic head at the boundary, both the mean and standard deviation of the permeability coefficient can be obtained and the standard deviation is less than that obtained by the conventional Bayesian method. In this paper, the...With the continuous growth of air traffic flow, some airports in China or other countries begin to construct Closely Spaced Parallel Runways(CSPR) to meet the capacity requirement of civil aviation. In this paper, the simulation and calculation method of flight trajectory is developed,as well as the collision risk calculation method and wake vortex encounter risk calculation method.New methods for departure and go-around procedures are proposed to achieve approximate segregated parallel operation in an attempt to obtain approximately the same results on closely spaced parallel runways as on widely spaced parallel runways. By comparing with the independent parallel departure and segregated parallel operation in ICAO Doc. 9643, it is found that the lateral separation between aircraft in this proposal is not less than the separations in the other two cases. Based on the simulation calculation of flight trajectories under different conditions, the probabilities of collision conflict and encountering wake vortex are lower than those in current operation plan.The proposed plan has no special requirements in pilot operation, control command procedures,airport facilities, or meteorological observation and prediction, so it is convenient to promote and implement at the airports with closely spaced parallel runways.展开更多

A multi-agent cooperative coalition framework is developed to optimize the formation scheduling problem in a decentralized manner. The social class differentiation mech- anism and role-assuming mechanism are incorporated into the framework, which, in turn, ensures that the multi-agent system (MAS) evolves in the optimal direction. Moreover, a further differen- tiation pressure can be achieved to help MAS escape from local optima. A Bayesian coalition nego- tiation algorithm is constructed, within which the Harsanyi transformation is introduced to transform the coalition problem based on incomplete information to the Bayesian-equivalent coali- tion problem based on imperfect information. The simulation results suggest that the distribution of agents' expectations of other agents' unknown information approximates to the true distribution after a finite set of generations. The comparisons indicate that the MAS cooperative coalition algo- rithm produces a significantly better utility and possesses a more effective capability of escaping from local optima than the proposal-engaged marriage algorithm and the Simulated Annealing algorithm.展开更多
