Following the activation of endothelium with the expression of adhesion molecules and monocytes, inflammatory cytokines from macrophages, and plasmacytoid dendritic cells, high levels of interferon(IFN)-α and β are generated upon the activation of tolllike receptor-9, and T-cells, especially the ones with Th1 profile, produce pro-inflammatory mediators such as IFN-γ and upregulate macrophages to adhere to the endothelium and migrate into the intima. This review presents an exhaustive account for the role of immunecells in the atherosclerosis.展开更多

Diorite and monzonites of this granitoid complex are cut by the granitic dykes. The Pertek granitoid, in the study area, is found in the Permo-Triassic Keban metamorphic sequence along intrusive and tectonic contacts. Along the intrusive contacts metasomatic mineralizations are common. Granitoids are, depending on the mineralogical composition, low-, middle- high-K subalkaline features. Major oxide-SiO2 variation diagrams show that fractionation (particularly plagioclase, hornblend, pyroxene and olivine fractionation) played an important role on the granitoid formation during a continuous crystallization process. Distribution of the samples from the Pertek granitoid in the tectonic setting diagrams, and their chondrite- and primordial mantle-normalized trace element patterns resemble to the of arc-type granitoids. Trace element and rare earth element compositions indicate that the magma, from which the Pertek granitoid crystallized, derived from a mantle that was enriched by the fluids derived from the subducted slab, however this magma was contaminated by the crust during its intrusion. These geochemical characteristics are also supported by the field observations. The field and geochemical characteristics of the Pertek Granitiod suggest that they are similar to the other granitoids cropping out in the central and eastern Anatolia and they form the lateral continuation of the same magmatic belt.展开更多

A total of 14 pregnant rats on their 18 th-19 th gestational days were used. The animals were randomly divided into two groups: those undergoing the shame operation(group 1),and those in which a 360 uterine torsion was performed using a novel technique, which was corrected 6 hours later(group 2). Subsequently, seven female and seven male rat pups aged 1 month were separated from the mothers in each group. The female rats were monitored until puberty via measuring the vaginal apertures. The 1-month old male rats and the female rats on reaching puberty were decapitated and histopathological tests were performed on the dissected organs, including the cerebral, visceral and genital organs. At the end of the study, no differences were observed between the groups with regard to abortions, offspring death rates and congenital abnormalities. It was observed that the time to reach puberty in female rats born from mothers with uterine torsion was longer, but the difference was statistically insignificant. No microscopic lesions were detected in the cerebral, visceral or genital organs of the offspring. Accordingly, it was concluded that offspring of mothers with the uterine torsion were not affected, at least in the short term. It was generally concluded that this animal model is appropriate for use in uterine torsion and ischemia-reperfusion studies, but is not appropriate for fetal hypoxia studies.展开更多

These methods are used especially by coupling some apparatuses on the computer numerical control (CNC) machine to decrease the pro- duction time and machine costs, ensure the maximum production and increase the quality of machining. In this study, 100Cr6 bearing steel extensively used in industry has been machined by tangential turn-milling method. This paper presents an approach for optimization of the effects of the cutting parameters including cutter speed, workpiece speed, axial feed rate, and depth of cut on the surface roughness in the machining of 100Cr6 steel with tangential turn-milling method by using genetic algorithm (GA). Tangential turning-milling method has been determined to have optimum effects of cutting parameters on the machining of 100Cr6 steel. The experimental results show that the surface roughness quality is close to that of grinding process.展开更多

Dynamic 1H NMR investigation of N-(lH-imidazoline-2-yl)-lH-benzimidazol-2-amine compound was reported at temperature range of 223--333 K in DMF-d7. Electrochemical feature of this compound was investigated by cyclic (CV) and square wave voltammetry (SWV).展开更多
