In 1960 we found that it was effective against the poisonings of HgCl2, CdCl2, and As2O3. Since 1964 our animal experiments have revealed that it is an antidote for poisonings induced by heavy metals of broad spectrum. In mice the LD-50 of mercuric chloride and mercuric phenyl-acetate after Na-DMS were 8 and 3 times respectively that of control mice without Na-DMS. The electrocardiograms of guinea-pigs and rats showed that Na-DMS could prevent and control the cardiotoxicity brought about by intravenous injections of HgCl2. 文摘Sodium dimercaptosuccinate (Na-DMS) is a dithiol antidote found by workers in China. In 1960 we found that it was effective against the poisonings of HgCl2, CdCl2, and As2O3.
