Methods The relationship between P- selectin as well asICAM- 1 and liver ischemia/reperfusion was studied, using a 60 minutes ischemia - reperfusion rat liver model.The animals were divided into three groups including: the sham group, the ischemic control group receiving onlythe normal saline and the treated group receiving anti-P-selection monoclonal antibody (Mab) at a dose of2mg/kg 15 minutes before reperfusion. The following indexes were analyzed: liver injury tests, liver histotogy,serum enzymes level (AST, ALT), and the levels of ICAM-1 and P-selectin in the blood of rats. ResultsSerum enzymes levels were significantly increased during sixty minutes of left lobar ischemia and reperfusion(saline control), and the increment was significantly inhibited with P- selectin Mab. Liver pathology observed bylight microscopy was greatly ameliorated by Mab. Furthermore, the elevated levels of ICAM- 1 and P- selectinwere found in the blood of ischemia/ reperfusion rats. Concluhon ICAM- 1 and P- selectin contribute tohepatic ischemia / reperfusion injury,and the P - selectin Mab can protect the liver against the injury.展开更多

Methods Using anti - P selectin monoclonal antibody and LSAB immunocytochemical staining technique to detect the expression of P- selectin in 60 cases of gastric carcinoma.Results Twenty - three out of 60 carcinomas (53.3%) had positive P- selectin staining that was detected not onlyon the endothelium of intratumoral vessels but also on the membrane of cancer cells. P- selectin expression wasfound in 26 of 37(70.3%) carcinomas with lymph node metastasis, 6 of 23(26.1 %) cases without such metastasis (P<0.01). P- selectin immunoreactivity was found significantly more often in more advanced cases (stage Ⅲand Ⅳ)than in earlier cases of stage Ⅰ and Ⅱ(80% vs 26.7%, PM0.01). The survival time and live - year survival ratewere lower in P- selectin positive cases than in negative ones. Conclusion The results suggest that P- selectinmay be a good indicator of the prognosis of patients with gastric carcinoma.展开更多
