Such relatively circumscribed environment weakened the influences from outside on the prehistoric Taihu region, and accelerated the integration of local regional societies by maintaining their cultural identity. Moreover, the core area of Taihu region where the Liangzhu settlements clusters were located is also semi-circumscribed. The spatial pattern of double circumscriptions might have had an important effect on the evolutionary process of Liangzhu society.展开更多
