Methods: The edpression of p53 protein. vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF ) and intratumoral microvessel density (MVD) were determined with immunohistochernistry and morphometry in 80 cases of osteosarcoma. Results: The overexpression of p53 protein was closely correlated with the ex ∈preswon of VEGF and the value of MVD. All the three were important factors affecting the prognosis of osteosarcoma. VEGF was relatively the most important factor to predict the outcome of paticnts with osteosarcoma, Pc3positivity the second and MVD the third. Conclusion: p53 protein exerts regulative effects on VEGF and MVD.p53 overexpression is one of the important angiogenic phenotypes of angiogenesis in osteosarcoma and p53 protein,VEGF and MVD might be valuable prognostic indicators for patients with osteosarcoma.展开更多
