This paper argues that the influence of the Shang bro...Previously the terminal point of the Neolithic culture around the mouth of the Zhujiang River was usually dated to the turn between the Shang and the Zhou periods. This paper argues that the influence of the Shang bronze culture upon this area did happen in the late Shang period, but the aspect and structure of the archaeological culture around the Zhujiang River mouth were already changed at the time corresponding to the phase of the upper Erligang culture. This was due to the influence from the Jiangxi Wueheng cultural complex of the Shang period. The archaeological remains around the Zhujiang River mouth in Shang times display strong distinctive features, constitute a unique local cultural type in southern China and represent an island-type cuhure.展开更多

Through studying the pottery of Gao - tai - shan culture, the paper reveals the basic developing clue of this culture and deduces the roughly date of the culture.展开更多
