Objective : To evaluate the effect and results of transcatheter closure of secundum atrial septal defect (ASD) using CardioSEALand Amplatzer occluder- Methods : Twenty patients of mean age 30-00 ±14-35 (ranged fr...Objective : To evaluate the effect and results of transcatheter closure of secundum atrial septal defect (ASD) using CardioSEALand Amplatzer occluder- Methods : Twenty patients of mean age 30-00 ±14-35 (ranged from 9 ~49) years and weight 57-91 ±12-23 (ranged from 42 ~78) kg wereevaluated- Guided by fluoroscopy and transesophageal echocardiography , ASD was occluded using CardioSEAL or Amplatzer device through percutaneous procedure- The transthoracic echocardiography ECG and chestfilm were performed 24 hours ,3 months ,6 months and 1 year after the procedure to evaluate its therapeutic effect and complications- Results : The success rate was 100 % ,the QP∶QS was 1-09 ±0-08 (1-00 ~1-25)- The CardioSEAL devices were performed for 6 cases , a very little residual shunt was found in each of 3 cases 24 hours afterthe procedure ,butit was disappeared 1 yearlater- Two CardioSEALdevices of 23 and 28 m m were used in one patient with two holes- One arm ruptured at 6 months′follow up in 1 case without any apparentinfluence ,but still in follow up- The defect were completely and instantly occluded after the procedure using Amplatzer occluderin 14 cases ,one ofthem was found 3 holes and closed with an Amplatzer occluder of 30 m m- No residual shunt or devices displacement or recanalization was found in follow up- Conclusion : Transcatheter closure of ASDis a simple and convenient method of high success rate and reliable curative effect ,butthe indication of Amplatzer method is much wider and the instant success rate after the procedure is much higher ,the remote effect of both methods needs further observation-展开更多
