Methods: Lung cancer tissue and the lung tissue in the surroundings of lung cancer were studied with Southern blot and autoradiography. Results: The length of chromosomal telomere was significantly shorter in lung cancer tissue than in the surrounding tissue of lung cancer (P < 0.05). The length of chromosomal telomere in lung cancer tissue correlated to the pathological grading of lung cancer (P < 0.05) but showed no correlation to the the ofpatients (P > 0.05) .Conclusion: The changes of the length of chromosomal telomere resulting from carcinogenesis is more prominent than that caused by cell division. The length of telomere can serve as one of the criteria in the early diagnosis of certain types of cancer.展开更多
