In this article,the epics"The Hundred Thousand and Million-Years-Old Busar-Aldar Khan"and"The Best Man Mimelzekh"from Xinjiang's Mongols are compared in terms of motifs,characters,and events wi...In this article,the epics"The Hundred Thousand and Million-Years-Old Busar-Aldar Khan"and"The Best Man Mimelzekh"from Xinjiang's Mongols are compared in terms of motifs,characters,and events with Kalmyk and Mongolian versions of the chapters on the marriage of Khongor in the"Jangar"epic.The study proposes the following:Firstly,these epics represent an archaic form of the chapter on Khongor's marriage,preserving the motif of"betrothing as yet unborn children",which is considered one of the original elements.Secondly,the chapter on Khongor's marriage in Epic Jangar was originally created as part of the story of Jangar Khan's marriage,reflecting the motif of "betrothing as yet unborn children"at the end of the matriarchal system.Over time,through historical evolution,it transformed into the chapter on Khongor's marriage.展开更多
