With the constant acceleration of globalization,cross-cultural communication has become an important part of people’ssocial activities.Spatial language is the main content of non-linguistic communication in cross-cultural communication.Differentcultures have their own special spatial language rules.This study mainly expounds the differences and problems in spatial languagebetween east and west under cross-cultural background from the aspects of personal space,attitudes towards crowding,house orien-tation and classroom layout.The purpose of the study mentioned above these problems in the hope that readers can realize that theimportance of spatial language in intercultural setting.
