Most of the new Arabian leaders are young, well educated and professionally trained, willing to accept fresh ideas and new things. They are open minded and practical. They advocate reform and go with the tide of the times. However, they lack political experience and have not laid a solid political foundation. What’s more, they are faced with many challenges such as interior power struggle, economic difficulties and threats from the ultra religious forces. Therefore, they still have a long time to go to consolidate their regime. The emergence of the new generation Arabian leaders will cast a far reaching impact on the Middle East situation and international relations. On one hand, it will promote political democratization, deepen economic reform and improve regional state to state relations whereas on the other hand, frequent power shifts have brought the Middle East into a political weak period. One country’s turmoil can damage stability in the whole region. On diplomatic field, the new leaders generally incline to the West and are actively seeking political support and economic assistance from the West. In the meantime, Western countries, particularly the United States, have been watching with great interest and vigorously involved in the power shifts in the Arabian states.
