亚洲通道——亚洲艺术的宏观论述

我担任了今年十一月刚结束的横滨三年展的策展人。对于此次展览．我的基本理念是视亚洲为一个通道。我用“通道“这个词，是想尽可能相对地看待亚洲。现在我想通过横滨三年展上的几个方面，谈一谈是否可能对亚洲当代艺术做一番新的宏观论述。亚洲不仅是有关如何把握当前形势的严肃讨论的主题，也是我们怀旧想象的主题。因此．我们首先必须以批判的眼光重新审视怀旧的含义。

优雅的薄纱

我在两年前拜访了户田阳（Yoko toda）在曼哈顿的工作室。我很外以前就对她的作品感兴趣，但当我看到她的那些大型绘画作品集中呈现在那里时，我被她的画面所具有的统一风格重新打动了。那就是通过色块和图形之间的相互关系，在画面空间里所追求的一种优雅。为了这种既孤独又高贵的追求，户田阳子选择远离故乡日本，移居美国纽约。
