Pirkes et al. prepared RE<sub>2</sub>(HSSA)<sub>3</sub>·nH<sub>2</sub>O complexes (HSSA<sup>2-</sup>: negative divalent ion n=15—18 ) by reacting rare earth carbonate with H<sub>3</sub>SSA. N. S. Poluektov suggested that the coordination ratio of H<sub>3</sub>SSA to some rare earth in solvent is 1: 1.
