A probe field counter-propagates with a dual-Raman field which drives the ground and the excited states transition, respectively, and the Rydberg transition is driven by a microwave(MW) field. A gain peak appears in the probe transmission and is sensitive to the MW field strength. Optical PAM-4 can be achieved by encoding an MW signal and decoding the magnitude of a probe signal. Simulation results show that the differential nonlinearity and the integral nonlinearity of the proposed scheme can be reduced by 5 times and 6 times, respectively, compared with the counterparts of previous scheme, and the ratio of level separation mismatch is close to the ideal value 1. Moreover, the scheme is extended to optical PAM-8 signal, which may further improve the spectral efficiency.展开更多

The strong correlation and the anticorrelation are. obtained when the collective phase of four applied laser fields is varied. The coherent control is based on the phase-dependent coherent population trapping (CPT). The strong correlation occurs when the system operates near CPT, while the anticorrelation occurs when the system is far away from CPT.展开更多

This scheme is based on the phase-dependent electromagnetically induced transparency in a four-level system in the double-A configuration. We use a strong bichromatic field (one component of which is standing-wave field) as the driving components, and a weak bichromatic field as the probe components. By choosing the collective phase of the four applied components, the atom is localized in either of the two half-wavelength regions with 50% detecting probability when the absorption to the probe fields is detected.展开更多

For certain chirp strength and chirp width, an incident 21r nonlinear chirped pulse will split into optical precursors and a stable self-induced transparency soliton. This is caused by the particular Fourier spectrum that includes not only central resonant frequency components but also high-frequency and low-frequency sidebands. Moreover, the effects of chirp parameters on the evolution of nonlinear chirped pulses are also discussed.展开更多
